The 2157 version is 'Full'. Are there any more 'full versions' that would work with 7.903 application version? (as far as i heard, the 2157 is the smaller version with less POIs etc...)

You have heard wrong I am afraid, the 825.2159 versions are smaller than 825.2157 in most instances, and .2159's should be compatible with PDA's, they do not include IQR or ALG though.

Clear Flash tool should do the trick, if it doesn't load up after running the tool then re-install after the flash.

Mo, sorry to say it hasnt worked.

i even went to tomtom website and followed their instructions to the letter but no luck.

it just goes to splash boot screen and stays there.

i fear its only good for spare parts.

When you say, he tried to update it, what do you mean, how, what did he do? If he did it through Home then if your trying to add a new map then all you need is a ttsystem.

Hi Guys

I got a mates Tomtom one v3 UK ireland.

he tried to update it and its now stuck on the splash screen.

I have tried wiping it and putting a fresh install of v8.010 on it.

It works fine through the "operate my one" feature in tomtom home but will not go past the set up screen in reality.

I am thinking of trying to install an older version of the software 7.162 and try to let home update it or should i just keep trying other versions until one hopefully works??

I cant understand why it would work in home but not on unit?

thanks

Home is only an emulation.
Take out the SD card and press the start button and hold it down until the info screen comes up ( white letters on a black background) Check the bootloader info to see what it is. He may have unintentionally upgraded it during the update but did not do it properly.
Is there a proper ttgo file in the card? Are the details correct?
I would try to install a Navcore which is meant for that model initially before trying to update. Also try another SD Card.

Hi Rytenuff

In the root of the TT, you have files called "ttgo.bif" and the bootloader file is called something like "bootloader", (can't remember exactly atm), both the files can be opened with notepad to see the info.

does this tell us anything to help with the failure to boot up.

i am in your expert hands because i have tried everything i know and i cant fix it.

hope you have some ideas , otherwise we have a very expensive 512mb external hard disc here:rolleyes:

incidentally

i was researching all over for answers and found others with similar problems.

i noticed one guy say the "clear flash" didnt work correctly on his.

What is it supposed to do when you run it?

on mine it turned the screen white with a blue bar across bottom and just sat there doing nothing else, is that right?
i ended up disconnecting it and resetting it again to reboot.

have also wiped it and connected to tomtom home which has downloaded v7.162 then tells me to disconnect and reconnect but device wont reboot so i cant reconnect without another reset in hole underneath.

dont know if this info helps at all???

just plug int puter format the tomtom drive then add firmware and map.

I have uploaded my version 8.024 for you to use it works fine on my tomtom with western europe 1gb 8.25 and new zealand 8.25-2167.

The link below is to my rapidshare link for firmware.

Good luck

With v7.162 installed, reload the last uncracked map that was on it before it was messed with. See if it will boot that way.

I would recommend Formatting the internal, its in a link on the same page, it shows how to do it also after you format it, In my computer, whichever the drive is, right click on it and click properties, then go onto the tools tab and click the option "Error-Checking" and tick the options, I remember when I had the same problem with my TT, I did that and ran the clear flash tool and it was fine again. Good Luck, let us know how it gets on.

Tomtom version 2 is really version 3 (there was no version 2) hence the confusion.
I wonder if the system file (the bootloader) was installed during the upgrade and has not been done properly or the file was faulty.
Do you have another system5.5106 (bootloader file)? If so I assume you are still able to place files in root when connected to the PC.

did all that

error checking went ok

did notice one thing which may be relevant???
when i format it i can choose between FAT and FAT32, do you know which it should be??

it was different this time when i ran clear flash.

it didnt stall on screen with blu bar at bottom but ended up on screen with SD card and red cross through it.

it does feel like that is some progress??

also i have rebooted and kept power button pressed and the black info screen with white wrtiting now stays on screen until i press power button whereas before it would go off after a few seconds, is that anything?

FAT 32, seeing as it didn't stall on the screen i think that is a good sign, I think there is some curruption in the internal which the error check would have taken out.

Yes! It should be making one.

if its not making a ttgo.bif file then does that mean it is not completing the install of the software?

if so is that sounding like a dodgy bit of hardware rather than a software issue?

As Mo said everything else seems to be ok.

As Mo said everything else seems to be ok.

When you completely delete everything and do a fresh install, you do not start off with a ttgo file, if you have correctly installed the new Software and when the first time you start up your TT, it will/should then create the ttgo file. Yours is seeming not to want to do that, I don't see why it will be a hardware issue as it was being used normally I am guessing before the upgrade attempt but it is a slim possibility.

it seems to me that it wipes it ok and then downloads the new clean tomtom original navcore .

HOWEVER this is where it seems to go wrong.

tomtom home then tells you to disconnect and then reconnect at which point from memory, normally, your tomtom will reboot , immediately reconnect to computer and ask if you want to connect to computer. this would then finish installation.

Mine is not doing this last part.

when i disconnect from tomtom home it reboots but then goes to splash screen and stalls, thereby, i assume , not completing the installation.

so i suppose Mo, you are right it does sound more like a software glitch, but if its a tomtom official navcore i am putting on it i cant understand why it would freeze???

but i have downloaded some of the .cab files from your post back at number 1958 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4127146&postcount=19588) and Tendrivers in post 1964 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4127308&postcount=1964)and they dont seem to have any ttgo.bif files in either.

Sorry to be a noob rytenuff but can you send me link you used to download those earlier which had ttgo file in them, one which is suitable for my tomtom one v3

thanks for your persistence.

Whilst you wait to download rytenuff's, stick the NC .cab with the one withought the ttgo and switch it on. If your lucky it will start up and create one itself. If not try rytenuffs.

You are correct the ttgo file is self-generated by the device.

Have you checked the diodes on the main pcb, sometimes if one of the diodes / resistors near the power fuse have b-l-o-w-n causing the tomtom to freeze on the "Logo Screen", due to this the tomtom not to create the initial configuration files ;)

Not that it matters now as it seems your device is unable to complete all the info into the ttgo.BIF, but this Nav. navcore_7.900.9180.one-onev3

Time & Time again this has to be said so i think from now on, if i post up camera's i will make this clear in the posts. These cam's are not like normal POI's, you will not be able to see them in your POI menu (With Most Navcore's) but they are there and will work if patched correctly. You can stick them in all your map folders if you know the different countries have the camera's. If for example you just have a UK Map then you only have to put in the UK files and not all of them etc. Hope this helps.

They are patched correctly so I don't think that's a problem, but if they don't show up as normal POI's then how can I "tell" my TomTom to warn me when i approach a camera? Will it do that automatically?

Create a route where you know you will be going past a camera (on the same side of the road), then in route summary, click on the "Show Demo of Route" and run it at 500%, then when you get close to where a camera is on the route then it will warn you. Check to see if this works.

And also drive safely when you drive ;)

I downloaded the western europe 1gb map version 8.25. I installed them in the root of my TT and activated them.
Problem is i cannot select the map. Do i have to delete the old map (version 650.xxx)? I have navcore version 7.903 downloaded with TThome.
I read something about changing the ttsystem file? Is that necessary?

Since you "activated" the 825 map, then, yes, you will have to change your ttsystem file & your TT home dll file. You can do that with yDGpatch here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/201913502/yDGpatch_1-2-16-14.rar
Once you change your ttsystem file, your old map will have to be "activated" also to use it.

Maybe this is useless information, but long time ago when I put nc8.204.xxx to my go910 I wrote that the autostart was not working (worked with nc7.903) when I connect TT in to my car and the powercable was on. Well, recently I put nc 8.310.xxx and I noticed that it has the same problem than nc8.204. But few days ago I had my go910 connected, but I didn't turn it on. After minute or two, it started by itself (power cable was connected). It was quite a surprise...a very good one :D. Just wanted to say if someone has wondered same thing. Give it some time...maybe go910 is just so old and need more time with new things :)

They use POIedit to convert it to a *.ov2 file and then you have a POI.
This POI you can add as a favourite.

Well I must admit defeat. I'm happily running a TT One (4N00.012) with App: 8.204 and map version 825.2157. ALG, TTS etc work a treat.

But can I hell get 8320 (9901 or below) to work on this device. It can boot up to a map page and you can tap on teh botton right to show the version but the main map are is non responsive and the + / - icons at the top corners are just blocks.

Has anyone managed to get this version working on a TT One.

Oh and by the way I've tried different variations of 9901 for x20/30 devices and go530/730/930. I've also run yDGpatch.

One further question (which really I shoudl know given teh amount of time I've been on this forum) - what is the best emulation for the TT One - x20/30 or go530/730/930

FORGET NC 8.320!!!!! It turned out to be a piece of junk and was never publicly released!!!!!!!!

For the annoying message on HOME, "Newer maps are available..." when you are already running the 825 series.

Just right click on your pna file & open it with word pad. Add _825 to your map id e.g;ID=United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland.pna will be changed to ID=United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_825.pna

Save the changes & run the, "Update my go" from Home.Your map will be shown up to date.

Actually, I prefer it if you guys do post my links from other sites here, because my memory is so poor these days, I forget to upload to many fora, so it is helpful that you guys do post here, and no, I am really grateful. Do not forget to give TTuser his thanks for coding the easyusetools because he has made it easy to do the cracks, even if I still use the old-fashioned longway round and of course yDG should also be thanked often too. Oh and btw, I like to take the piss out of noobies, so please do not take offense, it is not geared at anyone in particular, but all in general. Hey TTuser1 did not mention HD traffic this week, is this a record?

So what is the view of posting in different languages here? Is it ok if we put English in too? I only ask this since I work in most eastern european languages, Russian and Chinese and do not want you upset the applecart

Try this link I posted before: http://linksave.in/21849842949a8f783a6ddf . You need jdownloader or cryptload to download maps. I noticed, that these .dlc files were offline some time and they updated back yesterday. It seems that if links are down they try to put them back asap, so we have to wait until they are back online.

Once unzipped, you will see located in the 8.410 folder a home folder: Navcore.8.410.1218@tomtom.com (Navcore.8.410.1218@tomtom.com). This home folder does not have all of the needed files in it, so cut and paste this home folder to your desktop for now.
You will also see in the 8.410 folder a folder named "Outsourced.8410 & a switchfiles.zip file. If you have never had to use them with earlier patched NCs, they can be deleted.
Now copy into a folder on your desktop, all the contents in the root of your device except the map folder.
Next copy the 8.410 files and folders into your device to overwrite the existing files & folders.
Finally with your device still connected to your puter & turned on, start TT HOME and click on "Operate my device". You will be told that TT HOME needs to download an update. Tell it OK. Once done, open the Navcore.8.410.1218@tomtom.com (Navcore.8.410.1218@tomtom.com) folder on your desktop and copy the .dll file. Do you happen to know the download.tomtom.com link for the 4310 navcore CAB ?

For information purposes only, when you copy over and over-right the new NC contents over your previous version, as stated above that you can open up Home immediately after updating and try to use the "Operate my device" function, this may not work for some, Home may not ask you to install the new NavCore 8.410 home files, it may just use your previous version of the home.dll 8.310 for example, so the best way is to copy over the new contents, disconnect your TT from the computer and switch it on and let the TT start up. Then once started up you can re-connect the TT to your computer and then go into Home and update the home.dll file by trying to operate my go as stated above.

Hope this helps,

Mo.

That's a relief to see my (small) fix included in TTUser's original release. I won't have to do it myself next time.

It's understandable that one can test a particular hardware (go910) provided that one has the device at hand.
This doesn't seem to be the case with the TT programmers that didn't care to test the portability of their initialization code.
Not to mention that the whole ttn (navigational) program - especially its menus - should have been portable among different devices in the first place, not intentionally/commercially restricted as is now...

Anyone wanting to try S.E.Navcore 8.410.1218 on their ONE might like to know that it will work with LoquendoTTS as well as ALG and IQ Routes at the same time using 825.2157 map.
On my ONE v2(v3) with SD I have 6.4mb RAM free using Outsourced folder. For LoquendoTTS you need to run it in x40light mode by writing x40light in the model.txt

This Navcore will not work on a PDA, its for PND's only, Version 8 Maps will work on PDA's though (825.2159).

I had a TT One V2(3) with 8.204 and an 825.2157 map installed. Loquendo, ALG and IQ routing was fine.

Just upgraded to 8.410 by simply copying over existing files and deleting original 8204.outsourced directory. Also made x40light changes as per rytenuffs suggestions.

Seems to work fine. Also seems to allow Vocalizer now as wel as Loquendo.

Only very very small niggle is that there appears to be no display on the top line of the display. Don't know what that is.

Not sure I know what you mean by, no display on the top line of the display. Do you mean the blue box with name of the next street you are heading for written in white or do you mean there are no pixels lit up in the top line of the display i.e. it's black?
Does it affect every page?
Surprised to hear you had LoquendoTTS working with 8.204 and ONE v2. It was only VocalizerTTS that anyone reported able to get working with that device and Nav.

I have taken a second look at the current TT patching process and I have reached the conclusion that it is ready to be generalized.
I would suggest that the original author(s) should release this procedure themselves.

Anyway, I was able to generate a fully patched navigator (ttn, aka PNDNavigator) in two steps: 1. I applied yDGpatch to get a map capable version, 2. I used a hex editor to change a single string - always the same - let's call it "Queen" :) and I keept TTUser's (clever!) initialization code in order to have all menus, that was all.

My resulting PNDNavigator is below, you may check it out (by copying it in the root of a v8.410 device - set up with SE_Navcore.8.410.1218.rar, in order to have TTUser's init code):

http://www.2shared.com/file/5041632/f5429f78/PNDNavigator8410.html

Such a procedure is worthy to be released in a nice graphic program (similar to yDGpatch), don't you think ?

OK, I didn't patch at all the Copyright screen, it's the default TT one, but it is not essential...

Ooops that might be me confusing my Loquendos from my Vocalizer :o Anyway now I've got both so don't have to put up with Samantha and Tom.

As for the screen display when I planned a route it has gone away. Just putting it down to some issue with the initial screen when upgrading.

Can report though that it is working fine with the new navcore

An original v8.410 PNDNavigator can be found here (I guess the cab names have become known already):

New is the newest x40 series NC 8.410.1218

SE_Navcore.8.410.1218.rar (http://www.anonym.to/?http://rapidshare.com/files/206121575/SE_Navcore.8.410.1218.rar)

Follow the appropriate path below to paste the .dll file in the newly created Navcore.8.410.1218@tomtom.com (Navcore.8.410.1218@tomtom.com) folder.

XP Users

C:\Documents and Settings\????\ApplicationData\TomTom\HOME\Profiles \????.default\extensions\Navcore.?.?????@tomtom.co m

Vista / Windows7 Users

C:\Users\???????\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME\Profi les\?????????.default\extensions\Navcore.?.?????@t omtom.com

You are Done!

There is not a bootloader file, so you will retain your current one.
I did the instructions only because the unzipped file is arranged a little different than usual.
There are reports of 910s hanging up at start-up with this Navcore.

I updated my new TOMTOM XL (no sd card), with 2 GB int. mem. it works perfect! Thanks Tendriver. With TTHome it's also oké.
Nice menu layout too! Only one remark: First I had GPS v1.21 and now I have GPS v1.20. :D

To illustrate a "raw" (x40 only emulation), semi-automatically generated navcore, I have uploaded the following link:

http://www.2shared.com/file/5046044/ca3ae881/dsa_navcore8410.html

To check it out, install firstly the (original) tt cab (see file weblink.txt), then ttsystem and PNDNavigator in the root of the device, as usually.

Note that the extra memory gain becomes apparent only after restarting the device one more time (for example, after connecting to PC a second time). This approach works without an Outsourced directory.

I really think that a truly automatic program should be created.

Hi everyone

I have just recently purchased a Tom Tom GO 730 bu I have been lring on the forums for a bit reading about the maps, speed cameras etc.

I have tried to use easytools to update the safety camera data on my Tom Tom but the version still tells me its 1993 and not updated.

For info I'm running the following

TOM TOM APP: 8.302 (I am assuming that this is the Navcore system)
Australian map: 815.2057
Safety Cameras: 1993

Can anyone guide me on howto update the safety cameras and/or maps and apps

Thank you for your time

Hey there, The Latest version of the Speed Camera's for Australia is 1993 that were posted on the 05-03-09, New cam's will be posted very soon, keep your eye out in the next couple of days, Hopefully there will be an update for Australia Cam's in the next update.

PS. The only update after the 05-03-09 has been for ZA camera's (South Africa) which I will not be posting up as the new update will be available shortly but if anybody would like the new cams for ZA then let me know and I will post them up.

These Cameras will work for any map covering these countries.
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden & UK.

To install:
You don't need the PNA or META from a map.
What you do need is:
Download EasyUseTools (Get the Password from Rytenuff): http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4201663&postcount=2401
The two files .VER and .Ov2 for each camera (copied into) "insert_meta_from_Map_here"
A meta.txt with the meta code for the cameras in Progs folder
Your device ID
Click on the command program called "RunMeforDCT"
Select normally 1 (enter)
Select normally 1 again (enter)
Type in your Device ID (enter)
Close the "RunMeforDCT" window
Copy the VER, Ov2 and newly created DCT files from "insert_meta_from_Map_here" folder into your map.

(Installation instructions thanks to Rytenuff)

Does anybody knows the diffrence between GPS v1.21 and GPS v1.20?
After using NC 8410-1218 GPS version decreased from v1.21 to v1.20.
Thanks for help.

Just to keep you updated, and to lobby for the automatic patcher, another x30-only navcore:

http://www.2shared.com/file/5048584/809b1255/dsa_navcore8302.html

(same drill, put the tt cab from weblink.txt, followed by ttsystem and PNDNavigator in the root of the main internal storage device; the extra memory becomes effective after second restart of the device)

Hmmm

Still seem to be having problems with this map.

I asked about the meta because when i come to use easy tools it says that the meta is incorrect.

I continued with the installation and sure enough, my One v3 says that there is a problem with this map.

I am using it with navcore 8.3

any ideas?

If you have got a recent version of the Easytools, then you have to put the meta.txt in the Progs folder when patching to make your meta.dct file. And also you need a ttsystem file in order for the patched map file to work on your device. Probably one of these things you are getting wrong.

rytenuff

In EasyUseTools open the folder named, "Progs". Inside there is a meta.txt. Add the metas that Mo has provided to it (anywhere it doesn't have to be in order) Use "RunMeforDCT" again.
All this is in the enclosed Doc. How to crack a map which you d/loaded in the package.

Surprisingly easy when you knw how! :)

Seems i was using an old meta file in the prog folder. I just renamed it to show the current one and i recognised it straight away! yes!

This is in in the "How to Crack a Map" doc.

"Note. There is a list called "Meta" inside a folder called "Progs". (LEAVE IT THERE!) New Meta codes (called ****Fish Codes) will become available as new maps are released. If the meta code for your new map is not in the list the keygen will not be able to create a DCT file to patch your map.
You need to search on the net for it and add it to the "Meta" list (Add it anywhere on the list it does not matter) so that the keygen will find it and patch your map. If the meta code is missing the keygen will tell you it has not found it."

I don't know how to make it any clearer?

If a map becomes available after a Meta.txt is posted, the Meta.txt will obviously need to be updated.
