A suggestion to the moderators on here. Any chance we could have this post split up a bit maybe into Navcore (with a subsection for each version), one for maps (with a subsection for each version type), one for speed cameras etc etc.

Well just a thought, it would make searching and posting specific stuff easier.

I need some help, please. Can someone use Navcore.8.310.9760@tomtom.com in tthome and use go910 via tthome? I can't and I wonder why. First I had some runtime error when trying to use go910 via tthome and now I have new problem. If I translate right what tthome says to me: "Your tomtom device (Go910) has a wrong version of tomtom program installed in. To use Home you need to install right version of tthome program". So...wtf  ? I have this cracked 8.310.9760@tomtom.com in right folder and every other stuff is ok, but still...no good. There is this new thing I found: TThome made/makes a new file in this 8.310.9760@tomtom.com folder and file is named 8-310-9760-1.dll.old

So, what should I do? Put older TThome back or what? I still can download and install updates, but I would really appreciate if someone could help me to get my go910 to work via tthome. Thank you! :)

I add one more problem: when I updated go910 and tried to use it via tthome and it gave this error I mentioned...well...When I tried to start go910...nothing..all dead and it just freezed. Yeah..how nice. Nothing happened until I re-installed nc and ttsystem. Now it works again...but how long. Any suggestions what to do, please?

With the 910's, you can't use the BasicPack ttsystem file, Use one of dsa8310's ttsystem file. Your 910 should be ok then.

Has anybody tried to get mapshare updates to TT Navigator 7 on a HTC Touch HD?

When I connect it to TT Home 2.6 , it gets me an error saying that an invalid application version is installed. Probably I need to change my assigned device from TT Go to TTN in my tomtom account but it's possible to do it once in 6 months! So I won't be able to update maps on my GO...

(how can I avoid this error? ). I can only transfer voices.

Maybe it's possible to change something with TT home files in Program files/TomTom HOME 2/xul/chrome/tthome.jar ? (there are many .js files zipped) - because an error links to that path...

You don't need the PNA or META from a map.
What you do need is:
Download EasyUseTools (Keygen).
The two files .VER and .Ov2 for each camera (copied into) "insert_meta_from_Map_here"
A meta.txt with the meta code for the cameras in Progs folder
Your device ID
Click on the command program called "RunMeforDCT"
Select normally 1 (enter)
Select normally 1 again (enter)
Type in your Device ID (enter)
Close the "RunMeforDCT" window
Copy the VER, Ov2 and newly created DCT files from "insert_meta_from_Map_here" folder into your map.

(Installation instructions thanks to Rytenuff)

PS. There are many new patching tools now to choose from that are very easy to use that you can find on previous posts.

Enjoy & Please show your Appreciation!!!

Look through dsa8310's posts to find the correct version & link, or perhaps he might be kind enough to relist the link.

Please note that the TT original v8.410 cab comes without the ASR folder. That would hinder a full-fledged v8.410 update starting directly from an old NC (version 7).
However, going through any of NC v8.302, v8.320 or v8.310 upgrades first and getting to v8.410 at the end would solve the issue. It would also be an opportunity to review the existing alternatives.

dsa8310 ... you are correct, ASR was not part of the original 8410 package, I just added it in afterwards from the link that you provided.
I just wiped the 910 clean, installed dsa8310 version of 8410 for a 910, checked that it was all working, then added in ASR & the extras to LoquendoTTS, perhaps I was lucky that it all worked straightaway, but it does, with about 16meg of memory spare.
I have also got a TT One v3 running dsa8310's 8410, but obviously without ASR & LoquendoTTS, because it has only 3meg of memory spare.

With the 910's, you can't use the BasicPack ttsystem file, Use one of dsa8310's ttsystem file. Your 910 should be ok then.

I actually had new ttsystem file offered by dsa8310. There was some error which caused the freezing phenomen in Go910 and the problem was related to go's hdd. Dsa gave a link to new ttsystem file and this version worked well.

@Bungie. Can you use your go910 via tthome ok? I hope this dsa8310's nc will let me use go via tthome, because this was my new problem (TThome said I have wrong program (nc) in my Go910 and after that I couldn't use go any more).

I have this cracked Navcore.8.310.9760@tomtom.com folder in the right place and like I told before TThome makes/renames 8-310-9760-1.dll file to 8-310-9760-1.dll.old file. I hope this will not happen again.

Well..I will give it a try on sunday and see if it works.:)

I would recommend starting again, by simply just deleting all the folders in the paths below, (whichever one applies to you). So basically delete any folders like "Navcore.8.310.9760@tomtom.com" in the path.

XP Users:

Home v1.x:-
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\ApplicationData\TomTom\HOME\Navigator Dlls\

Home up to v2.1 :-
C:\Program Files\TomTom Home2\xul\plugins\emulator\navcore

Home v2.2...Home v2.3...Home v2.4...Home v2.5 :-
C:\Documents and Settings\????\ApplicationData\TomTom\HOME\Profiles \????.default\extensions\Navcore.?.?????@tomtom.co m

Vista / Windows7 Users:-

C:\Users\???????\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME\Profi les\?????????.default\extensions\Navcore.?.?????@t omtom.com

Mac Users:-
User's_Home/Library/ApplicationSupport/TomTomHOME/Profiles/????????.default/Resources/Extensions/Navcore.?.???.????.mac@tomtom.com/?-???- ????-/.framework

Then try to control your device through home again and when it asks you to install the software, let it do it and then place the patched .dll file over the one it has just created. This should sort out the problem hopefully. If you don't have a patched home.dll file let me know with the NC version you are using.

Here I'd continue with "... and then use yDGpatch to patch the newly installed .dll (8-310-9760-1.dll)".

I have one stupid question: will TThome install/dload this 8.310xxxxxxx.dll file? Latest and official nc for Go910 is 7.9xxx and I have nc 8.310? Will TThome know I have wrong nc in my device and tell me about it?

@Mo. I installed TThome and after that I put this xxxxxxxx@tomtom.com to the right folder, but I didn't let TThome to dload any files...hmmm and there was no need to do that. So, if I delete/remove this blaablaa@tomtom.com folder, let TThome dload new file and then put this xxxx@tomtom.com file back to the right place everything should work fine?

And a big Thank You for everyone for helping me with this! :)

no, I'd like to sell it through TT home:p

I do have Eastern Europe 2159 and W & C Europe 2158 in my device and they are working well.

I would like to get the mapshare updates for the maps.

The thing is, that I think I should have to change the device in my Tomtom account I created online as it supports only one device at the time.(But if I did that, I wouldn't be able to update my GO, as changes are possible once in 6 months)
I created another acc but I'm not able to assign a device to it as I don't know its serial/product code.:(

just create a second account within tomtom home.
i have 3 seperate accounts although you dont need the device paired to a account to update the mapshares. for example if i plug my one v2 into tomtom home while logged in with my main account it will ask if i want to register this device ete etc i just click out of that window but as i'm still signed in to the account i can still update mapshares etc.

TT Home sees what your Navcore is and downloads the appropriate @tomtom.com folder.

Mo is saying, let TT home download the @tomtom.com folder and only replace the dll file inside the folder.

It's also in the ttgo.bif file (let device start-up, then connect it to computer and read contents of file ttgo.bif).

You can't use 8.25.2157 on 7.9.03 but if you have newer firmware then you can use the more detailed 2157 maps ;)

Hello everyone,

I have a Tomtom One XLS 2nd Editon. I was able to download the latest maps 7x and 8x with the latest Navcore from links provided in this site. With 7x I had no problems but with North America maps(8.25..) my unit takes at least 5 minutes sometimes more to find routes/addresses and it crashed a few times either when searching for addresses or browsing the menus.. If i'm not mistaken the map size is 1.8 Gigs. I have the built in 1 Gig card and also have a 1 gig SD. Can these issues be caused because of the 32 Meg memory? I never had the problem with 6x or 7x.
I was also thinking on downloading only the USA maps 8x since is only 800Megs, Can someone please send me the link..

Any advice will be really appreciated.

Thanks

that way someone could check it out.

also what av suite do you use as if it's AVG then it is very likely you are getting false positives as AVG of late has become renown for giving false positives.

Yep, all maps do work in 910s, depending on the Navcore. As I said, 2158 was designed for the 910. Me thinks you are a bit too sensitive. I wasn't insulting anybody. Since there are x20, x30 & x40 models, the 910 is a clunker. When the next GO model comes out, my 720 will be one.

Then try to control your device through home again and when it asks you to install the software, let it do it and then place the patched .dll file over the one it has just created. This should sort out the problem hopefully. If you don't have a patched home.dll file let me know with the NC version you are using.

Mo.

I deleted xxx@tomtom.com folder, dloaded new one, changed .dll file ---> no good. Tried ydgpatch also after dloading new file ---> no good. Have still same problems: "Your tomtom device (Go910) has a wrong version of tomtom program installed in. To use Home you need to install right version of tthome program" and second problem is about notification: "TomTomHOMEruntime.exe has noticed an error and the product has to be shut down".

Only fixed thing is when I disconnect Go from pc it still starts instead of freezing. How do I solve these other issues?

Hi All,
Please don't think that I preach against downloading programs in general but I think that there should be a limit. Nod32 and other AV's are comercial programs and I believe that that these should not be used as pirated programs (there are free ones).
If you want to protect your PC, buy the AV S/W as it is not that expensive and will update during a whole year! The Tom Tom S/W is a complete other issue as we all have bought our TT device with a S/W that obviously is not finnished and we are updating it with the latest improvements that aught to be free or at least at a reduced price.
I do believe that that is a complete different situation.
By the by, I have a 3 PC license for NOD32. My TT is a GO 910 and has cost more than I have payed in the last 4 years for my NOD license.
Still, this is just my humble opinion.
Cheers, joseph.

1. You don't need the .ver file, just the .ov2 file.
2. After you put the .ov2 file & generated .dct file in your map folder, you are done. Set your alert notices & that does it.

In the TTHome program click download voices and download Kate or the male computerised voice, if their already on your tomtom just remove them and re-download them as they are free

ok guys I'm being thick again, I've done the above and copied the files across the relevant folder, but they are not showing up listed in the poi's
If I just extract the files and copy them to the folder without running the crack. They appear in the poi list but dont alert me while driving.

I'm confused as to what I'm missing now

Ok, Same Question again, looks like in my Camera posts I will have to state this as this keeps popping up after some intervals.

These Camera files I post up here are NOT POI's.... On most new Navcore's you cannot see them as a POI (However, on some older versions I have seen them visible as a POI), As these are original TomTom files, your tomtom NC will read them as originals after they have been patched to your device so it does not need to show them as a POI. Your TomTom will know what to do with them and automatically will add a warning beep etc which is something you can choose and change to which beep you want etc. BUT AGAIN, THESE FILES ARE NOT RECOGNIZED AS A POI. (For example if you also use SCDB Camera files or PocketGPS Camera's, you will notice that they are available as POI's so you have the normal settings available to you to change if you wish.)

Once the files have been patched to your device (.dct files created) then just put all the files in your map folder (.ver file not needed but no harm is done if you also put them in).

To check if they work: (Tip: I would just switch off any other camera files you may have in the POI section like PGPS or SCDB Camera's to avoid confusion while testing)

Create a route where you know you will be going past a Camera (To be sure, create the route so you are on the correct side of the road, in the same direction the Camera is facing) and in Route Summary, do a Demo of the Route (at 500% is fine) and if the camera shows up whilst its on the Demo and it beeps then you know everything is working.

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!

Mo

cheers guys, that not only worked a treat, the explanation came in before I had a chance to ask the next question lol

as an aside I wish I'd got em working earlier I have a feeling I've been flashed twice over the weekend (and I fear caught again today by a mobile unit ) so could turn out to be an expensive weekend.

im not usually so heavy footed, but little bro was rushed into hospital I've just spent 72 hours in ICU.

While my speed may have been high (57 in 50 and 78 in 70) I wouldnt class them as excessive given the roads were empty over easter.....

either way I dont care little bro is alive n on the road to recovery :D

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden & UK.

To install:
You don't need the PNA or META from a map.
What you do need is:
Download EasyUseTools (Keygen).
The two files .VER and .Ov2 for each camera (copied into) "insert_meta_from_Map_here"
A meta.txt with the meta code for the cameras in Progs folder
Your device ID
Click on the command program called "RunMeforDCT"
Select normally 1 (enter)
Select normally 1 again (enter)
Type in your Device ID (enter)
Close the "RunMeforDCT" window
Copy the VER, Ov2 and newly created DCT files from "insert_meta_from_Map_here" folder into your map.

(Installation instructions thanks to Rytenuff)

PLEASE NOTE: These Camera Files are NOT like normal POI's, for more information on this and also to check to see if your camera's work, check this post: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4356191&postcount=3348

PS. There are many new patching tools now to choose from that are very easy to use that you can find on previous posts.

Enjoy & Please show your Appreciation!!!

I am trying the tomtom truck navcore 8070 i downloaded a while back.

I am using the Navcore supplied in the download with the Truck map in the download (WESTERN CENTRAL EUROPE 815.2112).

I have patched the map with BU's Easytools, TT Asperin both say its ok but every time i switch on i get NO MAPS FOUND.

Has anyone got this working as yet?

BTW i am installing on a TT1 v2 with SD card slot.
The download came with 2 navcores, 8070.9589.go530-go730-go930 and also 8070.9589.gox20. I have tried both with same results.
IS it that my device is not compatible?

Normally when it says no maps found its a ttsystem issue isnt it?

I have tried YDG/Alberts to patch system file.
YDG says already patched or SE version
Alberts seemed to go ok when i used a meta.txt file with this map meta in it.
The download did come with a folder called "patched ttsystem" so presumably it is already patched.

So any ideas?

just create a second account within tomtom home.
i have 3 seperate accounts although you dont need the device paired to a account to update the mapshares. for example if i plug my one v2 into tomtom home while logged in with my main account it will ask if i want to register this device ete etc i just click out of that window but as i'm still signed in to the account i can still update mapshares etc.

That didn't work.

I have the newest TT Home. I logged out.

My GO gets mapshare updates without logging in,

but when I connect the HTC blackstone, TT home still says that an application is invalid. When I click the X (close window) button, I am allowed to download only voices. Other TT Home functions like operate my device don't work too:(

After a little digging i dont think its not the navcore that is at fault.its the map.

When i tried to patch with BU's map patcher it pointed out that the cline.dat file is missing....and its right there isnt one in there.

So downloading torrent of map at moment (but its slow) so am searching for rapidshare or similar link but not finding any at moment.

Do you have one for the map??

Anybody having an x40 device (go 540, 740, 940, maybe even XL 340(-s)) could help getting the original 8.412.1236 cab NAME, by accepting the TTHome upgrade and then finding inside the TTHome directory the freshly downloaded CAB...
(This looks like an insider info, at least for a while)

I wonder if this is because the newer XL doesn't have bluetooth so the option has been droped. Strange though because the bluetooth data transfere still works fine. Wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the problem.

To use Home you need to install right version of tthome program". And when I try to use Go via TThome, it gives me TomTomHOMERuntime.exe error.

So how the h*ll TThome still knows I have wrong version? Is it possible that Home has made some file which tells my version? Yeah, and I have fight with this bs hole day and it won't take long time when I will teach my device how to fly. It would be nice, if someone has some suggestion what I could try. Thank you!

Thanks for that. The problem seems to be when I select the traffic icon. I simply get a screen saying that the tradffic option can be selected by touching the right hand side of the screen. After pressing continue it simply reverts back to the navigation screen. I was expecting it to go on to set up the GPRS link via bluetooth to a mobile. So if I understand this correctly : I could just copy the ttsystem file into the existing root directory. If I wanted a 'clean sheet' I could use either of the CAB downloads (one with text to speech, the other without). Presumably I will still need some of the original files ? Or should I copy the entire contents of the CAB into the existing root and then patch in the usual way. Sorry I know I'm asking silly questions, I have this working I'm just trying to understand the entire process so I can reproduce a working system each time a new core comes out.

Thanks

Ian

Ok, I'll give you an example of me today, Tendriver posted up 8.412 today, I currently had on my TT520 8.310, So all i did was with the Cab contents, I copied and pasted the files over my 8.310 contents and put in the patched ttsystem file & also the PNDNavigator file i found today was also needed and thats it really.

Hope this clarifies some things for you for next time.

A few comments, v8.412 comes with:

- newer bootloader, 5.5128
- subtle mount parameter difference, intended to better memory management.
- same lousy TTHome "operate my device" appearance (last "good" TTHome was 8.310).
- no ASR folder, to be inherited from previous versions.

They check v8.412 for the case of "small builds (/bin/ttn is a symlink)" - memory wise (v8.410 is in same class) - made primarily for XL 340/S, XL IQ Routes edition Europe/Regional, I think. So v8.412's bootloader should be good for all builds (devices).

You have to go back to an x30 version (ex. v8.302, latest) in order to set-up the BT connection. Then reinstall v8.412 and the (working) BT settings will be preserved. But until a LIVE subscription would become purchasable from TT, effective service won't be possible, I'm afraid.

One last time I deleted everything, installed TThome and let it to dload needed files, restarted, update again, installed all maps and nc. But no good . It gives me this error:

ERROR: 573/#https://home.tomtom.com/shop/onetimeDeviceUpdates: Error from server: You have an invalid version of the TomTom application installed on your TomTom device. To use HOME you need to install the correct version of the TomTom application.
You have an invalid version of the TomTom application installed on your TomTom device. To use HOME you need to install the correct version of the TomTom application.

I found this in some log file in TThome folder. So, can there be some file in Gos root that tells I have wrong application? When trying to use Go via TThome it tells me it have to dload some file so I can use Go. This is the 8-310-9760-1.dll file like tendriver and Mo told me. Well, why TThome didn't complain at this point? And what makes it complain when I'm trying to use Go? It looks like there is no solution for this:(. I run out of ideas.

That file is ttgo.bif . Without it, you'd be asked to update your GO with the "latest" application - which you do NOT want to happen.
The ttgo.bif part responsible for this behavior is the serial number line, I guess. Knowing a "native" x40 device serial number would help... Not to mention that the "operate my go" function would look right too (proper icons, menus). You'd have to enter the "good" serial number each time after connecting to PC because a device start-up overwrites the ttgo.bif file with the real values.
But, ignoring the damn TTHome warning (kill the window that complains about the wrong version) is quite safe.

So, forget about it... or get a good serial number... in which case tell it to me too :) (FIRST two digits only) so that when TT produces a new NC I be able to get it via TTHome and not wait for the mercy of others to have the update CAB name...

Tried this with the TT One V2. Same issue as some TTSYSTEM's on 8.410, the device works but TTS does not. The 8.410 version on this device will only allow TTS etc with a specific TTSYSTEM date 8th March 2009 and x40light parameter set.

Noticed with 8.412 even with same same files as 8.410 in the CONFIG folder i.e. x40light parameter set you got more menu choices back.

A couple of other questions if I may.

I see you refere to 8.310, others also seem to mention this as a stable core. The only reason I changed to 8.410 was I thought it would enable me to use the lane guidance (with the latest maps), a feature I particularly wanted to try. Am I wrong in assuming that 8.310 does not opertate the lane guidance ?

I see mention of dsa and se cores what is the difference between these two ?

And finally (for now !) with 8.410 my XL tells me that I do not have a voice selected for text to speech. Do I need a voice loading to enable this feature ?

Hi, yeah firstly I found 8.310 to be quite stable so I stuck with that over the 8.410. You can also get all the feature with 8.310 like Lane Guidance.

Will exaplain the rest later, gotta pop out urgently for now, but basically DSA manipulates some files so that the New Navcore version can be used on more Device's like 910 for example where as with the SE version basicpack, you may have problems running the new nc on some devices.

Hi msubedar,

Would I be wrong with the following then: get SE_Navcore.8.412.1236.Basicpack and dsa_navcore.8412. Load content of dsa_navcore.8412 to SE_Navcore.8.412.1236.Basicpack and dsa_navcore.8412 and copy it to root of my TT720? With the 720, you shouldn't really need DSA's files, Just stick in the BasicPack files with the ttsystem file & the new PNDNavigstor file that come with it and you should be ready to go.

For a 720 you do not need dsa_navcore.8412.
SE_Navcore.8.412.1236.Basicpack + patched ttsytem file is all you need. You can delete Outsource.bin & switchfile.zip. 720s don't need them.

Mathias,

With dsa you start with the original TT cab and add PNDNavigator and ttsystem at the end. Extra memory is always configured automatically (albeit after second full device start). The menu emulation is in full too, as one would expect. Hence there is nothing to configure here.

With SE you get an (almost) identical result by default, from basicpack+ttsytem. If tempted, you may play with some configuration params, of debatable usefulness. I found them pointless :).

FYI, PNDNavigator is identical, ttsystem differs.
Combining the original TT cab with SE's ttsystem (and either PNDNavigator) will yield an (x40) emulation without memory savings.

My advice, go for dsa_navcores! :)

I don't understand your above statement. Since PNDNavigator is an intergral part of the original TT cab, why add it.

PNDNavigator is PATCHED (both map and menu).
(ttsystem is (menu) PATCHED too)
So you add/substitute/replace it.
(under Linux/Unix do a diff -a between the tt cab PNDNavigator and dsa/SE one, you'll see the difference in content, although size is same)

So you add/substitute/replace it.
(under Linux/Unix do a diff -a between the tt cab PNDNavigator and dsa/SE one, you'll see the difference in content, although size is same)

Let me further explain the patching process:

yDGpatch patches the core navigation program (aka ttn) either directly (nowadays it's PNDNavigator) or as part of (older) ttsystem(s). It also patches the TTHome dll, part of the "operate my go" software. yDGpatch does a map-patching which, together with the Easytools/keygen program applied to the various TT maps, ensures map "portability" :).

ttsystem has also an init part that is patched by TTuser (SE_) or by me (dsa_). The goal is to override the artificial/commercial menu limitation imposed by TT and give full menu capabilities (if supported by hardware) to all devices. PNDNavigator is menu patched too - independently from the map-patching.
TT should consider doing this themselves and make their money out of hardware (and map) differences, not software. That's a rip-off what they are doing now.

For convenience, both TTuser and I are releasing a map-patched PNDNavigator, though only the menu-patching is the real contribution and the map-patching part could be left at user's discretion (who can apply yDGpatch him/herself).

Finally, when either SE or dsa patching would become discontinued, I will recommend using dsa_navcores!! :)

I've TT720 with Navcore 8.302. Is there any benefit by upgarding to 8.412? Is 8.302 lacking something thats only available in 8.412, even though that version may not be supported on the TT720 device?

New icons & Voice Command/Control. You lose auto bright/dim & day/night, but that can be handled with Voice Command.

Right guys and girls I need some advice, Yesterday I woke up to find my TT 910 had arrived back from TomTom Repair, There was a fault with the unit and thought it was the battery that needed changing which I tried and had no luck so I had just forgotten about it and it just sat for a while. After hearing that Picto sent in his Faulty TT One and heard that it came back repaired free of cost, I thought its no harm sending it in for repair and see what happens. Anyway, I sent it in and it had run out of its warranty so they sent me an Invoice for 115 Euros to get it repaired, so I just said its ok, send me it back without any repair. So it arrived yesterday and I found it to be fully repaired and it was the Mainboard and the connections that were changed so I was over the moon.

Used it all day today as I had to go to Heathrow to drop someone off and it was running nicely.

Now I am just wondering, It has got a very old Navcore and the Old Maps (V6), installing the new Maps ofcourse is not a problem for me, I just wanted to get some advice as to which Navcore version is good and stable on the 910's for those of you who have one out their and are running it smoothly. The last time I came across a 910 was my brothers a few weeks back and I only had it for 1 night so I decided to stick on my 520's 8.310 contents with dsa's ttsystem and PNDNavigator and apparently it was running ok from my house till the Airport but since then he doesn't use it much due to the country he's in. (One strange thing was that when I switched his on after installing 8.310, it was showing the Traffic Bar on the right when their was no RDS-TMS receiver connected or neither any connection through GPRS but hey ho, he said he could live with that, i'm not sure if the bar is always on...)

So any suggestions, Saves me experimenting by adding 10 different Navcores on & testing etc ;)

Thanks,

Mo.

Content: trimmed down to current top of classes x30 and x40, v8.302 and v8.412 respectively.

Installation procedure in post #3105 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4286650&postcount=3105).

Please disregard my post #3441 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4368037&postcount=3441), there is an updated link to dsa_navcores.18April09.zip here:

Content: trimmed down to current top of classes x30 and x40, v8.302 and v8.412 respectively.

Note that each NC got an upgraded ttsystem which you would want to have because the memory savings are effective immediately (there is no need to restart twice the device anymore, after first installation -- the reboot is done automatically).

I apologize for any inconvenience.

I tried 8.412 on the 520, reverted back to 8.310. Something about 8.310 thats got me clinging onto it lol. Well the main reason was that Traffic works on 8.310 ok with the RDS-TMC and with 8.412, it wasn't finding anything for ages by which time my journey ended so I gave 8.412 a miss on the 520, don't know how it is on the 910's though.....

Mo,

From a GO910 owner, I have got this advice for yours: get dsa_navcores.18April09.zip (--UPDATED) v8.412 NC from above post and as many 825.2157 (global) maps as you can (I have got 13 of them, I kept Guam, Canary Islands and collected older maps too) since you have the necesarry storage space. Take care to have the right LoquendoTTS folder (see post 3105), and you are ready to go!

(Indeed, x40 NCs show the traffic bar when connected to windshield support with the European map and always with the North American one; I would buy the (910!) RDS-TMC receiver, it is so cheap in UK compared to US, but at my current location is of no use...)

P.S. GO910 has an old LoquendoTTS originally, that works, however you'd want the new one.

Hi Guys, Never saw a response from anyone a few weeks ago. Will try again.. Thanks Again,

I have a Tomtom One XLS 2nd Editon which came with 6x maps. I was able to download the latest maps 7x and 8x with the latest Navcore from links in this site. With 7x I had no problems. When I installed the North America maps(8.25..) my unit takes at least 3 minutes to bootup and aso find routes/addresses. It also crashed a few times either when searching for addresses or browsing the menus.. If i'm not mistaken the map size is 1.8 Gigs. I have the built in 1 Gig card and also a 1 Gig SD. Can these issues be caused because of the 32 Meg memory? I never had the problem with 6x or 7x.
I was also thinking on downloading only the USA maps 8x since is only 800Megs, Can someone please send me the link..

I downgraded to the 6x Maps and I am running fine. Any advice will be really appreciated.

@dsa8310@ Do you get the Trafic Bar on your 910 with 8.412, if so is there a way around this so that it just pops up when you stick in a receiver. Just to see what happens, I stuck in my RDS-TMC Receiver whilst the bar was visible and it recognized it and was searching for a signal.

As soon as you connect to the windshield mount, the traffic bar pops up, with an European map. With the American map, the traffic bar is displayed all the time. You can get rid of RDS traffic with x30 which does not have it, but you still get a warning message suggesting to buy the software from TT when connecting to the windshield mount. So I chose x40...

Hi Guys,

I'm getting a HTC Touch HD and I wanted to run TomTom 8 on it, but I'm having problems finding the download links to the application and the latest map/safety cameras/updates etc for it. Its the United Kingdom map I'm looking for. This thread alone is so big, its taking me ages to try and find it! I just wondered if someone has a list of them? That they could possibly give me the ones I need? I did look already on here but I didnt have much look finding what I am after, maybe I'm not looking properly? I presumed the application would be at the start of the thread, with rapidshare links maybe..but the only thing i found was EasyTools?

Thank you in advance,

I wouldn't want to ruin the good impression TT made to you, but I know (from experience) that a GO910 which doesn't start-up, not even after reset with a pin and has to be kept powered-up all time to work, needs only to have its battery disconnected (it is not soldered-up, it has a connector) for a while. Ten (precisely!) screws for 150 Euro, that would have been a hell of a deal for them...

I have seen the inside of TomTom many a time, I have opened my 910 plenty of times, I tried to change the battery with a new one but it wasn't that. Was the actual board with mine. But yeah, 150 Euros quite a good deal for them.

Have to try 8.412 and see if it has same thing.

dsa8310,

Thansk for your repost - is the cab file compatible with tt720?

All TT devices are underneath an ARM machine, with slower/faster CPU, more/less memory, more/less storage (either HD, SD), bigger/smaller screen, with/without bluetooth (hands free capable) or built-in GPRS (gox40), with/without mics, different connectors, etc.

However, their (Linux based) operatig system (aka navigation core) is the same, designed to support any architecture (as an OS is supposed to be).

Nevertheless, TT tricks its customers into believing that different devices run different NCs, to charge them more... Here dsa/SE patches come in handy.

So, yes, any device can run the latest NC (undoubtedly, some features are not supported by all configurations) - if also patched.

Download this folder:

Put the entire folder in the extensions folder here:

In C:\Documents and Settings\ User Name\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\extensi ons

Let it overwrite the existing folder.

No, it's OK... (I do edit text files under Linux however). Exactly what tendriver has pointed out...

Oh, I see what you mean, under Windows it looks awfully. For now, you'll have to select the part that starts with "http" and ends with ".cab"...
Next version will be readable under Windows too.

Hi guys,

Yesterday I posted a reply asking for tomtom 8 for my htc touch hd, i did have a reply off one guy telling me to go to the end of the thread and work backwards the tomtom8 application and maps are in the last 7 pages. I took the advice...looked through the last 7 pages and found my maps and safety cams, but no application for my device.

Can someone please give me the link to download tomtom 8 for my HTC Touch HD? Or even the direct thread number lol. Am i looking for the wrong thing? Is there another name for tomtom8?

What would be really handy, is to have a tomtom thread, that is locked so no one can reply and put all the most up to date software, maps and safetycams etc on there. So people can find them really easy and not have to search through over 200 pages of replies. Does anyone else think its a good idea?

Thanks alot,
Regards.
Chris

TomTom Application Version 8 is only available for TomTom's, Version 8 is not out yet for PDA's & Phones. You are searching for the wrong thing, look in the older threads for the application, you may find it then.
