Speed cams here:

Put the UK ov2 files in your map folder, then run the first tool "Map v8 keygen" to create a .dct file for the speed cams. You only have to do this one time with the speed cams. With future updates, you just copy the ov2 files to your map folder.

Hi,

I found and joined this forum tonight and as you all know it is a very helpful one.

My question is I have a TomTom GO 300 which I updated a few weeks back to the following:

App 8.204 (9718/081105) 05:23 2962
GPS version 1.20, Boot5.5106
Map: UK & RI v825.2157.

Now I don't have my GO to hand but TT Home says there is an error when connecting to the server, the error code is 573. As I said I don't have my GO to hand but I am sure Home reports ( I think I noticed in the lower right corner TomTom One!) which it is not as you can see from above, I do remember changing the TomTom System file some time back!

All is working good but I would like to upgrade to the best new Navcore and maps with IQ, ALG and voices telling me the road names etc, so can someone please tell me which is the best upgrade and maps to update my GO 300 with, one last question if/when I update my GO will I be able to use a bigger SD card, I am using 2GB at the moment? :)

Thanks for any help offered.

SatcomBob.

I assume this one will work in go910, but is it worth it to update from your older nc8.413? Thanks!

Well, I added the x20 skin because it's bluish and not orangish like the x30 skin. The release is backward compatible with the one-skin button and the no-skin button one. If you ever need the wireless connection reconfigured, you'd be able to do it with either x20 or x30 (but not x40). And be aware that on go910 at least, TT has gotten the x20 "next menu" arrow icon wrong, I've just "inherited" it...
I am thinking of adding an x40light kind of skin button too, but since it does not work on my go910, and I am not getting further feedback from ONE owners, its implementation might be challenging - but not impossible.
On my own go910, I do run it. I do also have a Restart TomTom button and a TomTom Tool one (I do not need the mplayer start/stop buttons, however I can still access the jukebox mplayer command when running the "tool"; you'd need a different ttsystem for the mplayer items though).

A tomtom can not detect anything, except gps sats. It will alert you only to cams that are in the ov2 file. Hence, weekly updates.

no it is not a stupid question.the tomtom is not a radar detector it's cam databases whether they be the original tomtom ones or third party databases are GPS based. if the spot where the mobile camera or radar gun is located is a regular one most likely it will be on the database but it's not a guarantee. the only devices that can detect cameras and radars are devices such as the road angel but it's legality is at present dubious at best.

no one has yet released that meta to the public so there is at present no meta.
you can either wait untill some one does release it ( which could be a while or buy the map and release it your self as i did with the usa and mexico 1gb 825.2159 map )

if you have the meta key it will be in a .txt file within the map folder. but to generate a ****fish code/ meta code you need a retail copy of the map with it's retail .dct file and the device id number from the tomtom unit it was bought for. using these you can use easytousetools to generate the ****fish meta string.

TomTom Keygen will find your SD card files, if you put a copy of your device's ttgo.bif on the card.

Hi Mo,

I have downloaded all you said. I am ok on the Maps, Post Codes, Speed Cameras, the only problem I have or may have is the "dsa_navcore.8413".

When I updated my GO last time I formatted my SD card and copied all the files and folders in the Navcore ZIP I got from somewhare. I noticed in this version I am missing quite a few of the files and folders I have in the other Navcore I installed on my SD card.

So, do I overwrite the Navcore files and folders on my SD card with the new "dsa_navcore.8413" or what?

Thanks,

Hi Mo,

Thanks for the quick reply, I thought as much. Do you know of a Navcore I can download with "all" the files I need for a TomTom GO 300 blank SD card, as I am sure the Navcore files etc I have on the SD card is not for the GO 300.

I ask as the last time I connected my GO 300 to TT Home I seem to remember seeing in the bottom right, Home saying a TomTom One was connected and not a TomTom GO 300.

Also TT Home keeps saying there is an error when I connect, I get the message "invalid application installed, install the correct version and inform TomTom anonymously", I just click the "X" and continue to use Home as normal.

My TT Home is patched as is my GO 300. If I ignore the error I can do all I should be able to do with Home, update Mapshare, Operate my GO etc.

Thanks once again. I will read your reply tomorrow as I am off to bed now.

In dsa8310's folder, he would have had a file called weblink which is the link to download the full navcore from tomtom's site (the actual original tomtom contents) then seperatly you will find a few other files like a patched ttsystem file and PNDNavigator file etc which is what you install on top of the cab file.

If you can't download it from the weblink, let me know and i will find a link for you.

It can't "boot" from the SD card unless there is a navcore on it. If you switched to the UK&ROI map in Change preferences, Manage maps, Switch map, your device will always start with that map, until you switch to another.

Link to dsa.zip:

http://www.2shared.com/file/5953640/e46bd860/dsa.html

Content: For Linux users, a map-patcher script (command line equivalent of yDGpatch), called dsa_mappatch and an universal TT CAB patcher script, dsa_cabpatch, that generates automatically the well known dsa_navcore... packages starting from the official TT cabinet file.
It's been tested successfully on a wide range of NC's, from v8.204 and up to v8.413. I hope it will help you in the future, because you are on your own now! :)

Note that over time, you'd probably have to update the skin components, data_im1.chk (and data_im2.chk) to keep up with newer TT releases.
And, feel free to adjust the scripts to your taste.

You may explicitly use dsa_mappatch against PNDNavigator files (but NOT directly on ttsystem). You can also map-patch the TTHome dll file with it. The targeted file should be given as a parameter to the script or it's requested interactively from user.

The CAB patcher, dsa_cabpatch, has a similar usage. To generate a dsa_navcore.nnnn.zip package you have to start with the downloaded official TT cabinet file and give it as a parameter to the script. The rest is... magic! :)
A series of Linux tools are required, among them cabextract, gzip/unzip, zip/unzip, patch, cpio, etc. The OpenTom tools, ttimagextract and mkttimage are included.
You do not need to execute from inside the dsa directory, just put the two scripts in your $PATH.
Be also aware that you'll need root privileges to run the script.

It seems that the forum admis' reply to my Link Button/Box suggestion is still lost in the Spam folder, so this is to make good of my promise to suspending further releases.

I've just noticed that I forgot to uncomment the next to last line of dsa_cabpatch, you'd want to get rid of the temporary working directory in the end - though its contents are instructive to the patching process :)

It still does not start-up on my go910... maybe it will on your ONE?

Just to confirm this version 'works' (full TTS, LG etc) on a TT One when in x40 mode (there is an icon to swith to x30 but you lose TTS)

Now, in the future, if you'd like to have another "light" version generated for your device (ONE or even XL -- Ian!), just edit my dsa/patch/init.patch file from the universal dsa.zip package, and replace the three occurrences of modelid value 24 with value 34 and then run dsa_cabpatch against the TT CAB file; see below:

$ grep 24 dsa/ -r
dsa/patch/init.patch:+ttd=24
dsa/patch/init.patch:+ ttd=24
dsa/patch/init.patch:+if [ "$ttd" = "24" ]; then
...
$

Other possible "light" values, to play with, are 35 and 36.

Each dsa_cabpatch run will generate the whole dsa_navcore.nnnn.zip package, but only the ttsystem file will be different.

Link to revised but final dsa.zip:

http://www.2shared.com/file/5961111/6fdb86d/dsa.html

New: it can generate "light" versions of the NC, apparently good for ONE (maybe XL) devices.

Just add a second parameter to script dsa_cabpatch, say light, yes, anything of nonzero length, and you'll get a dsa_navcore.nnnn-light.zip package. If you'd like to control the light flavor emulation, enter exactly 34 or 35 or 36 for the second parameter, otherwise 34 will be used by default.
With only one parameter, the CAB file name, the regular dsa_navcore.nnnn.zip will be generated.
This extended syntax stands true at dsa_cabpatch prompt for TT CAB too.

And, this is truly the last release of mine... until my Link Button issue gets revised too!

DSA - when in x40light mode on the One you lose several of the sub menus i.e. optiosn not available. Most are not available 'cos the One can't support it but there are others like 'reset route' and 'gps stat' that were usefuel to have in the menu structure. Is there anything that can be done for them.

Also I noticed that one of the early 8.xxx Navcores displayed the maps with raised buildings. Is this funtion 'returnable' or is it loss due to the memory savings within the x40light environment.

So I have a stupid question.

I have a go920. Here is what I wonder:

I can download the latest patched Navcore for go940. It has all the bells and whistles I want. Is there a way to make TT home think that this is "official" for my device, so that in the future it will automatically update me to the latest official 940 version??? (just as it did update me to the latest official 920 versions before)

If you have a navcore, higher than the official one for your 920, TT Home will not offer you the next official one. However, if you have a back-up of the official navcore, you can load it onto you 920 when a newer official one comes out, and then TT Home will download the newer one for you.

Isn't it possible to do so that

1. Dload nc8.351 for Go940 from tendriver's link http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO.cab

2. Extract it to the root menu of Go

4. Connect Go to the pc and start tthome

5. Let Home dload .dll file and patch this file with ydgpatch

6. Maybe restart Go and all is done

You need the X20 Cab to be able to do this if patching on a 920. When using yDGpatch you can only patch the ttsystem file that is meant to be for your device, the X40 cab is not meant for the 920 so it won't work.

Link to dsa.zip ultimate:

http://www.2shared.com/file/5969606/417922e5/dsa.html

Though there was nothing wrong with the previous dsa.zip edition, I patched my own NC with it, I decided to release an "ultimate" dsa.zip, that has a few extra features:

1) It fixes the erratic TT implementation of ttntool; again, v8.351 was at fault (like its predecessor, v8.350).
2) It adds two optional menu items, Restart TomTom and TomTom Tool. I have them, but if you dislike them, remove files SDRegistry/TTreboot.cap and SDKRegistry/TTtool.cap from device.
3) It comes with mplayer, but not in the menu. To start the mplayer based jukebox, run the TomTom Tool, and at console-on-screen prompt issue command "./TTmplayer/TTmplayer-wrapper"

I remind to those who'd expect a new dsa_navcore.8351.zip that this won't happen for two good reasons:

1) Anyone can generate any dsa_navcore.nnnn(-light).zip with the dsa_cabpatch script included in the package.
2) Though I can understand the lack of appeal of a Linux tool for the majority of Windows users, I won't upload any future releases unless the forum admins give a favorable resolution to my Link Button request.
For now, they act exactly as ********* in gang-thanking, ignoring a demand that will bring fairness to us all.

you need to do some reading!!!!!

You cannot come on here and do nothing yourself and expect the answers to be provided.

You will find everyone more receptive to your problems if you have attempted to go back through the forum and find your own answers first.

You know what you want to do and all the answers to your questions CAN be found in this thread.

So , like the rest of us have some fun reading backwards through the forum and find your answers.

If you like to experiment a little, do the following on your ONE:

1) Generate yourself a new dsa_navcore.8351-light.zip, from 8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO.cab, by using dsa_cabpatch in post #4314 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4505325&postcount=4314) (under Linux).
2) Install dsa_navcore.8351-light.zip as usually on your ONE (first the TT CAB, then it, over the top).
3) Enter the new menu item TomTom Tool.
4) At on-screen-console prompt, execute this command:

/mnt/sdcard # echo 13 >/bin/barcellona/modelid

(case sensitive)

Then quit the console, and wait for the NC start.
If happy with the result, it will be so until next cold boot.

Other value that can be tried, beside 13, it's 16, same drill, start with step (3). The rest of models are selectable with the skin buttons. Actually, you can decide which light flavor to get, as described in post #4292 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4503783&postcount=4292), so other possible values are 34, 35 and 36.

I am not going to implement modelid 13 or 16 for now (but it's so easy, in script dsa_cabpatch, there...)

That's a dsa.zip link with all five light flavors:

http://www.2shared.com/file/5972257/a661e05b/dsa.html

New: there are five "light" selectable flavors now: 13, 16, 34, 35 and 36.
Execute the dsa_cabpatch with a second parameter (beside the CAB file name) equal to exactly one of the above five values. The default for the second parameter (if present, but different from the five choices) is 34.
The skin buttons let you choose the emulation, either x20, x30 or x40 - but x40 could be actually an extended "light" one.
There is little interest in generating a light dsa_navcore.nnnn-light.zip package, except for impaired devices, like ONE, XL.
For regular devices, dsa_cabpatch should be run with only one parameter, the CAB file name, and the result will be a dsa_navcore.nnnn.zip package, with the main three emulations, selectable through the skin buttons, i.e. x20, x30 and full x40.

Note that mode 16 gets only three main menu screens, so the extra buttons are lost, and together with them any chance of changing things on the fly.

So there is no easy way to "trick" the TT home into thinking that my device is really go940, not 920?

Hoping that TT will have a change of heart and they'll give to all their customers the best NC available for their device?
Not willing to hunt for the next patched release anymore?

But I have just granted your wishes with dsa.zip, sophie999!

The ultimate, final, nec plus ultra, all of the above :), tool to creating your own NCs, at will. Not to mention its on-the-fly skins...

DLC Link for all NZ Maps

Think I know the answer and it is no.... Is there a TomTom map that will cover Cyprus?

While I'm here and to save a lot of clicking I'd just like to say thanks to the regular contributors here. I've downloaded a few things from the links provided and have updated my TT One V2. I realise providing this stuff takes considerable effort.

This thread being so huge and the forum pretty slow from here (London) it took quite a bit of effort finding everything and learning how to do it. One thing that would have made it easier to understand is a (simplified?) breakdown of how TT map security works so you know why you are using the keygen rather than just doing it because the instructions say so :). Took me a while to realise once you have a patched ttsystem file you can forget about it as all the instuctions tell you to key the map then patch ttsystem..... like it needs doing every time you add a map.

The terms used take a bit of learning too. Navcore wasn't too hard but there are still plenty of things where I have no idea what people are talking about (like the linux and making navcores from original cab files stuff dsa8310 posted about recently). Only dawned on me yesterday that x20 and x40 etc is talking about model numbers like 920 or 940 :) Is there a FAQ or glossary of terms anywhere?

So thanks again even if I haven't clicked the thanks buttons :)

So Buddy, if i want a map that covers the whole of the USA I should have the North America map??? I think this is correct but being English and never gone to America and knowing someone who knows better its nice to confirm :D

NEW SPEED CAMERA'S & META.TXT FILE - 26-05-09

http://www.2shared.com/file/5982772/60a6236c/Cameras__Meta_26-05-09.html

Been a while since I last updated so there would have been quite a few updates!!!

Courtesy of The Maverick

Just a quick tip: the .ver files are not needed to enable the use of the speed cams Thanks to Tendriver.

These Cameras will work for any map covering these countries.
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, UK & USA.

To install:
You don't need the PNA or META from a map.
What you do need is:
Download EasyUseTools (Keygen).
The two files .VER and .Ov2 for each camera (copied into) "insert_meta_from_Map_here"
A meta.txt with the meta code for the cameras in Progs folder
Your device ID
Click on the command program called "RunMeforDCT"
Select normally 1 (enter)
Select normally 1 again (enter)
Type in your Device ID (enter)
Close the "RunMeforDCT" window
Copy the VER, Ov2 and newly created DCT files from "insert_meta_from_Map_here" folder into your map.

(Installation instructions thanks to Rytenuff)

PLEASE NOTE: These Camera Files are NOT like normal POI's, for more information on this and also to check to see if your camera's work, check this post: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4356191&postcount=3348

PS. There are many new patching tools now to choose from that are very easy to use that you can find on previous posts.

Enjoy & Please show your Appreciation!!!

Links to dsa-cygwin.zip & dsa.zip:

http://www.2shared.com/file/5986563/825c6182/dsa-cygwin.html

http://www.2shared.com/file/5986556/d91bc6ce/dsa.html

I heard you, so I am releasing dsa-cygwin.zip, which is the Windows version of the Linux dsa.zip package.

I have also changed the name of the main scripts, they are now dsa-cabpatch and dsa-mappatch (instead of the ones with underscores).

To use dsa-cygwin.zip under Windows, you have to install firstly Cygwin, from this official link:

http://www.cygwin.com/setup.exe

There is no need to configure in any way Cygwin, just accept the defaults (Next, next, ..., Finish).

In the next example, I will assume that Cygwin was installed in directory C:\cygwin, and that the TT CAB to patch is the latest, v8.351, named 8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO.cab .

1) Start Cygwin, you'll get a DOS like windows, with a Linux like $ prompt.
2) Unzip dsa-cygwin.zip in directory C:\cygwin\home\<Your-Windows-User-Name>\
3) Copy the TT CAB in the same directory (do not unzip it).
4) At Cygwin $ prompt, issue the usual command:

$ dsa-cygwin/dsa-cabpatch 8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO.cab

and wait a little, it's a slower process than under Linux.

The dsa_navcore.8351.zip package will be generated in the same Cygwin home directory. Copy it from there with normal Windows means.

The same extended syntax, with a second parameter to generate "light" packages stands true for dsa-cygwin.zip too.

In the same Cygwin context, you can use dsa-mappatch to patch the TTHome dll too. Put the dll, taken from its TTHome location, and named 8-351-9982-1.dll, in the Cygwin home directory, and execute:

$ dsa-cygwin/dsa-mappatch 8-351-9982-1.dll

The old dll will be preserved under the name 8-351-9982-1.dll.orig
You should move the patched dll (same name) back in its TTHome initial location.
(the dll can be searched for starting from directory C:\Documents and Settings\)

On the TT device, first extract the TT CAB, 8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO.cab, over the top, and then extract over the top the newly generated dsa_navcore.8351.zip package, and you're done.

I hope that this Windows version will appeal to a larger audience.

To access in place the Windows files from inside the Cygwin context, prefix them with /cygdrive/c/, e.g. /cygdrive/c/Documents...

And, here is a nicer dsa-cygwin.zip package. Nicer inside, but same functionality as the previous one:

Hi dsa

Thanks for the above. I had started to look around for a Linux 'emulator' but hadn't got very far, I take that cygwin is just that (haven't had chance to look yet). I was wondering how else I could get access to a Linux machine. Didn't fancy trying to run it on ttconsole :D

Ok

Think I am 'good to go'. Managed to produce a dsa_navcore.8350.zip, (not yet downloaded 8.351). Will try it out and start experimenting with other options. being on an XL I'm so not sure how its going to react to using the 940 cab. All good fun !

Oh did notice that a zip error 'Nothing to do !' was produced thought it does seem to have produced the .zip file.

Thanks again

I really know little about other emulators, but I have made the dsa-cygwin.zip package for/on Cygwin. And tested it thoroughly.
So, take Cygwin from www.cygwin.com/setup.exe (http://www.cygwin.com/setup.exe) for best results.

On the other hand, if VmWare is able to run dsa.zip as is, then I made a futile exercise in portability across platforms... :)

The only difference is

Hunk #7 succeeded at 773 (offset -3 lines).
zip error: Nothing to do ! (dsa_navcore.8350.zip)
Archive: ./dsa_navcore.8350.zip

It goes on to archieve the 31 files exactly as per the exapmle you give.

I wanted to spare the Cygwin installation details, so I included the tools in my package.
But, rerun the Cygwin setup, go through the Select Packages step and select the following tools:

From Archive, select cabextract, unzip and zip.
From Utils, select cpio, diffutils and patch.

(six extra clicks total)

This way, at next dsa-cabpatch run, you will have your necessary Cygwin tools correctly installed on your PC, taken precedence, and that should make a difference (no odd messages).

But anyway, what I would really like to hear from people that have used dsa-cabpatch, is that it had indeed enabled them to make their own patch, starting from the original TT CAB, instead of having to wait for someone else's posting.

So, it worked for you? :)
You can look into the light versions and whether they solve the computer voice issue on XL too - just a little bit later? :)

VmWare installs virtual machines on your host, so you can run many different OS'es as guests. That way you can install linux on a guest machine, very handy :)

VmWare installs virtual machines on your host, so you can run many different OS'es as guests. That way you can install linux on a guest machine, very handy :)

Well, I'm afraid we'd need a new thread to discuss vmware... :)
(I wanted something simple, for Windows TT users; I did my best not to scare them off not even with the cygwin installation)

Hi dsa

Just reporting back

I reistalled cygwin as you suggested, downloaded the 8.351 cab and successfully ran dsa-cabpatch under cygwin (without errors) :)

however !

having installed the 8.351 cab then installing the generated dsa-navcore8.351 over the cab, my XL hangs (despite repeated resets).

I haven't tried any of the 'light' options yet. I will keep experimenting in case I've done anything daft (more than likely).

Unfortunatly may not get much opportunity this weekend :(

This is the 8.351 navcore produced if it helps.

You read my mind. Now wait please for two mins.

You have generated all OK, it's internal contents all identical to both my Linux and Cygwin generated dsa_navcore.8351.zip.
The problem? The XL might not support v8.351.
Stick to v8.413 - generate a new one, check light params, etc. On TT's site they say that v8.413 is for XL while v8.351 is for GOs.
Let me know about the generated light/v8.413 please.

By the way, people, you've got a good dsa_navcore.8351.zip package posted in this process!!!

It seems that XL/ONE devices have to stick to v8.413 and that v8.351 is for GOs. That is in accordance with TT's website too.
However, both v8.413 and v8.351 work on my go910. v8.351 seems somehow better than v8.413, though third party applications will have a hard time running in the foreground of v8.351 (same issue like for v8.350). TT also mentions something good for Australians in v8.351, I do not remember exactly what...

And, at second thoughts, I like v8.413 more... but the Aussies...

Take care to extract the WHOLE dsa_navcore.8351.zip package over the top. It is not enough to overwrite the ttsystem, the new PNDNavigator has to be installed too (I managed to "reproduce" your problem when inadvertedly forgot to copy on device the new v8.351 PNDNavigator - indeed, the existing v8.413 PNDNavigator does NOT work with the rest of v8.351, it hangs, which is to be expected)

We could use a second opinion here. Can another XL owner take the dsa_navcore.8351.zip package from post #4354 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4513942&postcount=4354) and extract it on device? (but first, extract the TT CAB v8.351 over the top, from post #4358 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4514057&postcount=4358), of course)
Any TT version can run on any device if patched appropriately....

Thanks! :)

As a Go owner, you will certainly like better v8.351, say because the x20 skin has a proper right pointing arrow - for menu screen switching - while v8.413 has a bad looking one. And the extra thing for Australian maps.

I'd like to know your experience of generating your own patches, with either the Windows tool, dsa-cygwin.zip, or the Linux one, dsa.zip, definitely! :)

How to patch TT under Windows, with dsa-cygwin.zip

From my earlier posts, I thought that time had come to have the menu patching process automated in the same way the map patching is for both the NC and TTHome.
I have released at first a Linux script (dsa.zip) and, hearing the Windows majority's frustration, the next day I made the Windows based version (dsa-cygwin.zip).
The new TT NC v8.351 has come just in time to prove the utility of my dsa-cabpatch (and dsa-mappatch) scripts to those able to run them either under Linux or Windows.
I would like to think that anyone should be able to run dsa-cabpatch under Windows, and below is my best attempt to clarify things:

1) Firstly there is need to have a one time installation of a Linux-like environment for Windows called Cygwin. Details on Cygwin's website, www.cygwin.com (http://www.cygwin.com).
From our point of view, it's a simple setup.exe run under Windows, that is http://www.cygwin.com/setup.exe
Click on the link above and accept all defaults, by pressing the "Next" button repeatedly.
There is a one choice to make, titled "Choose a Download Site". If you'd want 100% compatibility to how I installed Cygwin on my Windows host, choose here cygwin.basemirror.de, but probably any nearer site would do.
Another step that could be skipped safely with the "Next" button is named "Select Packages", but for those wanting a proper installation, a number of six packages can be selected since they are needed by my scripts. (For those who would wonder why, if needed, I'd said that they could be skipped, the answer is simple, I have included in my dsa-cygwin.zip those packages already; however, their selection is recommended).
The six packages/clicks are: from Archive, select cabextract, unzip and zip; from Utils, select cpio, diffutils and patch.
Then proceed with "Next" up until the last "Finish" click, and you are done with the Cygwin installation on your Windows host. This was a one time installation procedure, so step (1) will never be done again.

2) Click on the new Cygwin icon and start it up, you will get a DOS looking windows with a Linux style prompt, a $ sign. At this prompt you will have to run the dsa-cabpatch script, ultimately.

Let us now make an assumption that will make our life easier: I will call <Your-Windows-User-Name> "John Doe"

3) In order to use my dsa-cygwin.zip tool, you will need to unzip it. This is also a one time procedure. The result will be a folder named dsa-cygwin. So unzip it (or subsequently move the folder around) in directory C:\cygwin\home\John Doe\, assuming C your Cygwin installation drive and that you had accepted the defaults in step (1), as suggested. I am going to call this place your Cygwin home directory.

You are one command away from performing the TT patching yourselves. But, of course, you also need the TT cabinet file to be patched, let's say this is going to be the v8.351 TT CAB named 8.351-go940.cab-navcore-go.cab
Take it from post #4358 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4514057&postcount=4358) and download it on your computer.
There is no need to move the CAB in the Cygwin home directory. Let us assume that the CAB has landed on your Desktop.

4) Issue the dsa-cabpatch command at the Cygwin $ prompt, followed by <Enter> :

$ dsa-cygwin/dsa-cabpatch /cygdrive/c/Documents\ and\ Settings/John\ Doe/Desktop/8.351-go940.cab-navcore-go.cab

Note that the command is case sensitive; if the real <Your-Windows-User-Name> contains spaces (as expectedly), put a "\" before each space, as you can see in the name of the "Documents and Settings" folder, that also contains spaces.
The easiest way to have the CAB path entered is to use the auto-completion feature of a Linux command, so start with "Docum" and press the <Tab> key, you will have the whole "backslash" charade filled in for you, with a few <Tab> keystrokes.

The command will run for a while (about 42 seconds on my Samsung NC10 laptop) and the result will be a new package, named dsa_navcore.8351.zip
You are almost done.

Copying the dsa_navcore.8351.zip package on, say, your Desktop, could be another Cygwin command (followed by <Enter>):

$ cp dsa_navcore.8351.zip /cygdrive/c/Documents\ and\ Settings/John\ Doe/Desktop/

OR, you could use the normal Windows copy&paste means, since you know the location of the Cygwin home directory, C:\cygwin\home\John Doe\

5) Now, you have both the original TT CAB and the dsa_navcore.8351.zip package on your Desktop.
It remains to have them both installed on your TT device. So, connect it to the computer (or just the SD), and extract the two items over the top of the device/SD:

Firstly, extract 8.351-go940.cab-navcore-go.cab over the top.
Secondly, extract dsa_navcore.8351.zip over the top.

You are done, and so am I :)

P.S. Read post #4316 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4505415&postcount=4316) about how to add a second parameter to the dsa-cabpatch command in step (4) in order to generate a "light" dsa_navcore.8351-light.zip package, useful to XL/ONE devices, to be used instead of dsa_navcore.8351.zip in step (5).

I had some problem: it seems like this cygwin doesn't like using skandinavian keyboard and letters like ä or ö. My windows user name is järjestelmänvalvoja and I can't write it as it should. I tried jarjestelmanvalvoja, but it won't work or it doesn't recognize it, damn. Any ideas? I will keep on trying....

Like you dsa8310 said, this is very easy thing to do and even easier with your great instruction :).

It does not matter the user name spelling. Just look with Windows into the directory C:\cygwin\home\ and there should be what Cygwin decided to be your Cygwin home directory. So do step (2), then find the Cygwin home directory, and proceed with step (3), unzip dsa-cygwin.zip into the Cygwin home directory. Then continue with steps (4) and (5). Use the <Tab> key to auto-complete the path. Alternatively, you could copy the TT CAB into the Cygwin home directory with Windows copy&paste, and then the Cygwin command will be simplified, no more path:

$ dsa-cygwin/dsa-cabpatch 8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO.cab

Moving dsa_navcore.8351.zip to the Desktop, again with Windows' cut&paste.

I have not been able to get this map to run. There appears to be a problem with it.

Problem solved. Map functioning normally. It was the lower case letters in the meta. Corrected meta below.

got a copy somewhere? Trying this now.

Thank you for your guide dsa.. much appreciated.

Thanks.

It's the case of the letters wrong. And Ian, strangely, is at fault!
He had generated his dsa_navcore.8351.zip, but misspelled the CAB name. In the process of checking it out, I have "inherited" his mistake, that propagated from post #4358 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4514057&postcount=4358) up to post #4369 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4515021&postcount=4369).
(TT official links get never dead)

Please read correctly the CAB name, 8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO.cab, especially in post #4369.

Tendriver,

Thanks for the new map.

I just downloaded a new map of US 830.2323 using Cryptload. No problems. However, when I try to unrar, it tells me "unexpected end of archive" error. It only unrars part1.

Any ideas? Seems it worked for you fine.

Thanks

Sure it's good. As good as for my go910. Are you among the 7 that have already downloaded it? If not, go for it!

I dloaded this ian's dsa_nc8.351. I extracted this 8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO to my 910 and after that the dsa_nc8.351.....and my go freezes. I tried also to patch the original ttsystem from 8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO and replaced dsa_nc8.315 ttsystem with it....no good. So, what is wrong now? Thanks!

I am sorry to say that Ian's package is bad, after all. I cannot figure out what is wrong.

However, both dsa-cygwin.zip and dsa.zip generate a good dsa_navcore.8351.zip package.

Since Ian had reported an early error with his Cygwin execution, subsequently corrected, I must insist that all do step (1) of my recipe by selecting the six Cygwin packages mentioned in post #4369 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4515021&postcount=4369) (cabextract, unzip, zip, cpio, diffutils and patch).

Did you manage to run your own dsa-cabpatch yet?

That is what I use (actually 3.9 beta version). Also tried JZIP, same result. Downloading from work. Maybe something wrong with that (filtering???). Downloads really fast, looks like all about the same size, except last one, but only the part 1 unrars. The rest are errors. Hmm, will try later on from home.

Thanks tendriver.

I've installed navcore 8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO.cab into my go 520 using DSA8310 cgywin based patch. I fully erased the device before copying the files over. I have found that "line out" no longer works. Regardless of the setting the sound always comes out from the internal speaker. I rolledback the device to the original software and lineout works again, so it is definitely something to do with the 8.351 navcore. Help anyone?

TIA.

Mathias,

Thanks for trying it out.

I did not expect the Oops error... On my Debian, with actually /bin/bash as shell, it does not happen.

I can guess that you have indeed used yDGpatch to finally patch PNDNavigator :)
Therefore the posted package is not quite good, it should not be used.

You could eliminate (comment out) this sequence from dsa-mappatch:

if ! tail --bytes=+$sb "$pndn" | cmp --quiet -n $sc "$idir/patch/tocut"; then
echo
echo -n "************************************************"
echo "$pndn" | tr [:print:] [**]
echo "* Oops! You'd better use yDGpatch to patch $pndn !! *"
echo -n "************************************************"
echo "$pndn" | tr [:print:] [**]
echo
exit 1
fi

OR, you could figure out what is the non-portability issue. Maybe try "#!/bin/bash" as the first line?

I think I know what the problem was. Ubuntu uses a different /bin/sh, that points to /bin/dash, or some other minimalistic shell that does not support ((...)). I use them for arithmetic operations.

The best fix is to replace the first line of dsa/dsa-mappatch with the bash shell:

#!/bin/bash

(instead of #!/bin/sh which may point to something else)
Leave the "if" in place, it was quite useful...

I will do the same in the next dsa.zip release, pending your confirmation.

Link to updated dsa.zip:

http://www.2shared.com/file/6038270/86e91a8b/dsa.html

Per Ubuntu's sake, a more portable version of dsa.zip.
The only difference, the dsa-mappatch script is executed explicitly with /bin/bash (instead of /bin/sh that might be a symlink to the wrong shell).

Well...I did it :D. I found some older instruction made by you dsa8310 and with that...it was very easy job. I haven't tested my 910 in action (it starts, I can scroll menu and give it address to go), but I hope everything will work just fine at least those functions I'm using.

But I have one question for you and probably answer is somewhere here, but if it is...I missed it. so, what is different between x20 and x30 skin? Or is which one is better to use?

However...Big Thank you dsa8310 for this patching tool!!!! :)

Hi dsa

Well I'm afraid I've failed miserably. I tried again with 8.351 with dsa-cygwin, but the same result same with 8.351 "light" then finally I tried 8.412 (which I just happened to have the CAB for, 8.421.xl2009_live_2048) same result with this. However if I extract your dsa_navcore.8412mplayer.zip that works fine with the above CAB, simply extracted over the top. So it looks like its might be my generated navcore after all :(

Any further thoughts ?

This might explain why the data part of my bluetooth fails to register with O2. Bluetooth does register between my tt720 and the phone and I do make calls thru tomtom just fine. This does raise a question though - Why was this working with 8413 you produced then? - I still have a long way to go on this...

Ian

I am sorry it did not work for you.

You could erase the whole c:\cygwin directory first. There is a cygwin setup configuration directory, separated. Erase it too.
Then, reinstall cygwin exactly as per my post #4369 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4515021&postcount=4369).

Or, read my PM soon!

This might explain why the data part of my bluetooth fails to register with O2. Bluetooth does register between my tt720 and the phone and I do make calls thru tomtom just fine. Mathias,

Could it be that v8.413 is better than v8.351?
Try to generate from 8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO.cab.
You could generate from 8.413.xl2009_live_2048_tts.CAB-navcore-XL_LIVE.cab too.

I take it that the "Oops..." issue is solved with /bin/bash, isn't it?
(See post #4407 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4521529&postcount=4407) too)

I have tried both 8.351 and 8.413 on my GO730 but cannot see any real differences except to design of the menu icons.

Anyone know if there is supposed to be any difference to i.e.:
- performance
- route engine logic
- etc

Other thoughts on what version is to be preferred?

I personally like the visual appearance of 8.413 but if the functionality of 8.351 is better then I'll use that one.

My question is to "unaltered" navcores, so if one or the other is better for skinning etc, that's not really what my question is about.

The "Oops..." message is gone and I see no errors anymore. This is what I generated http://rapidshare.com/files/239896511/dsa_navcore.8351.zip.html. I am a bit stuck now as my broadband is offline (my area is oversubscribed - got to love VirginMedia with their supposed optical fibre network...).

Will post one I generate with the suggested cab files.

Mathias,

Excellent dsa_navcore.8351.zip package, I have checked it out.
(As I said before, as long as one gathers the two skin files, data_im2.chk and data_im1.chk, on device, any source cab is valid for patching, they are not different as TT likes us to believe...)

Dear TomTom Gurus!

First of all I'm sorry if any of my questions/suggestions are off-topic.

Secondly, I got home (Hungary) from Greece using the maps I got 2 weeks ago, although I experienced a lot of unwanted behaviour which had nothing to do with patched versions but TomTom maps themselves. I found out that the Eastern Europe map (v825) had absolutely zero knowledge of important roads which must be open and available for more than half a year. Some of them my brother already reported to TomTom months ago, I wonder how long it takes for them to include changes. For example: Bridge Megyeri (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megyeri_Bridge) is the fastest way to cross the Danube in Budapest approaching the city from the North and so on... It knows almost nothing about several cities like Belgrad, capital of Serbia, and I don't think they ever warned me about this one buying the map in the first place, but it might be just me... It also took me on unsurfaced roads in Greece, that was quite an experience with a motorhome too. :) I know it is not your fault, but I wonder how this could happen.

What was less frustrating but still problematic, is that the map I downloaded from here seem have no camping information which was not the case when visiting western countries last year. Is that info located elsewhere or is it just missing because Balkan countries don't have information about those?

The last issue I want to address is that there was probably more than a hundred posts in the last two weeks and it took me hours to browse through although my English reading speed is okay at least. I'm a webprogrammer and therefore an internet poweruser, but this thread is just huge. I know there are a bunch of tech-savvy guys here, who could easily create an up-to-date wiki page on the subject if wanted to, but I wonder why you don't. And just to make this post a bit more read-worthy, I offer my services if I could help you with anything on this subject.

PS: I read we should use the thank-button, so I added a few thanks to those who deserved it, and lots of thanks to regular posters again!

Link to dsa-win.zip, Windows only:

http://www.2shared.com/file/6076975/ef89d016/dsa-win.html

This is a Windows only version!

Installation:

1) Unzip dsa-win.zip on your Desktop (or other appropriate place),
2) Send to your Desktop (create a shortcut) file dsa-win\dsa.exe (found inside folder dsa-win).

Patching a TT CAB file: click to start dsa, then click the "Open TT CAB" button, select your TT (original) cabinet file and wait for processing. Press <Enter> at the end, after eventually inspecting the output.

The newly generated dsa_navcore.nnnn.zip package will by next to the source TT cabinet.

Next version: will come with help, a way to select a "light" generation (dsa_navcore.nnnn-light.zip), a button for PNDNavigator/TTHome map-patching and maybe it will be also esthetically appealing. My Visual C++ science has its limits, for now... :)

A tip for GO 910 owners, familiar with its internals.

I managed to replace the internal hard disk with a CF card and a CF to ZIF card adapter. The CF card adapter has same size as the hard disk ( 1.8"), so physically it's a good fit. The ZIF connector fits the ribbon cable too.
The end result is a reliable and faster device, insensible to vibrations.
A 16GB CF card is around $40, so not very expensive.

Hi dsa

Well thanks again for your efforts here excellent piece of coding.

I'm still having problems though. Using the generated code my XL hangs, use the same CAB with your 'files' and everything is ok. It must be something fundamental I'm doing wrong but I'm damed if I know what it is. I'll keep trying

No error messages generated all looks ok.

Link to improved dsa-win.zip, Windows exclusive:

http://www.2shared.com/file/6093041/44f63210/dsa-win.html

New: I have thrown in a few buttons, all but "Help" work as announced.

Installation: same (run a desktop link to dsa.exe inside folder dsa-win which results after unzipping).

TT CAB patching: use the Open button in the TT CAB area to select the source TT cabinet file; use the radio buttons to eventually select a light version.
Default is x40 emulation, with x20 and x30 always available on device.
The L34 choice is the most likely light emulation representative. L16 is with just 3 main menu pages, ergo no extra items.
For example, an L34 generated package will be named dsa_navcore.8351-L34.zip, while the default x40 one will be called dsa_navcore.8351.zip.

MAP patching: use the Open button in the MAP PATCH area to select a TTHome dll to map-patch. The original file is preserved under same name but with an .orig extension appended.
An unaltered PNDNavigator file can be also map-patched, but NOT a ttsystem (that is done as part of the cabinet patching anyway).
The dsa_navcore package gets an already map-patched PNDNavigator, for convenience.

The patching is triggered by the big "Patch" button, and both selections can be done together (one Patch click for both).

Dsa.exe was made with a 2003 Visual C++ compiler on a 32 bit Windows XP and it is actually a front-end to my cygwin version turned self-installable.

Is it the front-end or the cygwin execution?
1) I mean, does it start/select/patch at all?
2) The other dsa-cygwin package (that required a simple Cygwin install and a by hand execution) was it working on Vista 64 bit?

1) Put the map folder on top of your device.
2) Get the latest navcore v8.351 cabinet from TomTom, here is the link:

http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO.cab

3) Use program dsa.exe from post #4431 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4530639&postcount=4431) to generate your dsa_navcore.8351.zip patch.
4) Extract over the top of device firstly the cabinet, 8.351-go940.CAB-navcore-GO.cab, secondly dsa_navcore.8351.zip .

The device should start-up with the new NC by now.

5) Get this Easyusetools map tool from post #3032 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4270581&postcount=3032). With device connected to PC, click on RunMeforAllAutomatic (from inside Easyusetools... folder) then select option (1).

Now the map and/or the so called camera files are patched too.

(1) + (5) will solve the map/camera patching.
(2) - (4) will patch (any) navcore.

I found the problem, but I am not sure how to solve it.
The execute attribute of all binaries are NOT preserved by the Cygwin tools. This is fatal to the ttsystem file system binaries that should be run on device.

This should have to do with your Windows settings, but I do not know which/how...

My bad!! With the das.exe version, I deleted the c:\cygwin folder, not realizing that I still needed it. Folder restored, dsa.exe works on Vista 64.

That is odd. I tested it on a virgin XP (no Cygwin ever installed on it, no c:\cygwin, etc) and it still worked well. All required Cygwin tools/dlls are in c:\dsa-win\local\bin.

Then, there should be an extra Cygwin .dll specific to Vista 64 bit, but which ones?
(I do not have Vista/64 at hand...)
If you discover it/them, put it/them in c:\dsa-win\local\bin, remove c:\cygwin (temporarily) and it should work alone. Then you have indeed discovered it, and please let me know of it.
Look at the dsa-win\local\bin\ 32 bit DLLs, that should help, maybe there are 64 bit versions of them that should be added, similar names, from your c:\cygwin\usr\bin\ directory.

These are the 32 bit DLLs:
(inside dsa-win)
local/bin/cygbz2-1.dll
local/bin/cygintl-2.dll
local/bin/cygintl-8.dll
local/bin/cygreadline6.dll
local/bin/cygiconv-2.dll
local/bin/cygintl-3.dll
local/bin/cygncurses-8.dll
local/bin/cygwin1.dll

Their 64 bit counterparts should be in c:\cygwin\bin\

I might need an 64bit/Vista to figure out all correlations... Maybe the included local/bin/*.exe files should be different too. Maybe an 64bit/Vista release is required altogether...

Link to dsa-win.zip, bug free:

http://www.2shared.com/file/6109047/464c695/dsa-win.html

It's bug free, or so I like to believe it :)

This Cygwin thing has a memory of its own... On computers that had it previously installed, you need an (EMPTY) \cygwin directory created on the dsa-win.zip installation disk. That is done now by dsa.exe. There are the tmp (and etc) working directories created.
However, on my other PC that never had Cygwin installed on, the directory \cygwin is ignored and the tmp (and etc) are created in the root of the disk...
So, search me...

Ian, please try this one out. Erase any existing Cygwin installation first (directory c:\cygwin).

Cheers - thanks so much for your help. Only one issue though - the dsa.exe you linked to, the link to the file comes up as not valid?

Unzip dsa-win.zip somewhere, then go into folder dsa-win and send dsa.exe to the Desktop (create shortcut).

Take the fresh dsa-win.zip from post #4451 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4533613&postcount=4451).

Deleted c:\cygwin & c:\tmp. Ran this dsa.exe.

Thanks again for your patience. I've downloaded everything, ran it all, and it all seemed to work, until I tried operating the Tomtom in Home for the first time and it came up with "No maps found". I then disconnected it from my PC, and reset it and tried to start it up - it comes up with the splash screen and then goes black and refuses to boot.

I'm not sure whether I've done something wrong?

This version is better, sorry for the numerous posts.

Though I could have masked/ignored the lack of proper Cygwin installation, I decided to make a thorough attempt to install it. You may see a few warnings at start, but nothing to worry about. If the installation finally fails, then I abort graciously.
Actually, I cared to have a ttsystem with proper root file ownership though it would have worked anyway and nobody could have ever seen it...

You say that the device worked, started up, etc, at first? TTHome cannot disable a working device.
Focus on having the new navcore working on device. Leave the maps for later.

I am sure one of you guys will be able to answer this better than the incredibly slow tomtom support service.

I got myself a go 520 recently. it had on it an old v7 map and 7.4XX application.
i plugged it in to tomtom home and it asked to upgrade it to 8.351 so i let it. now it will not run.
it keeps rebooting.
i know the machine is fine because i have 8.351 running patched from the SD card all perfect with ALG and Loquendo.

But i always like to leave the internal hard disc as legit in case i ever want to sell it on.

So i know the tomtom unit is ok and its just the files that dont work and because this is the current app for the GO520 i should be able to run it without patching
Correct?

Which files could i start to copy over from the SD card (working with patched 8.351) to the internal memory (non patched 8.351) so it remains legit and works as it should?

incidentally tomtom's solution was to backup/format/and reinstall app which has not worked. I encountered 1 problem when copying info off. The settings.dat file would not copy, dont know if thats relevant.

Hope you can help ;);)

picto,
Here is a link to download 8.351 directly from TomTom. Delete the current 8.351 navcore, but leave the v7 map folder. Load the downloaded 8.351. If all goes well, make a backup, then you can do whatever you wish with the internal memory. To sell it, restore the 520 to legit condition with the back-up.
The settings.dat file is not an original navcore file. The device creates it as settings are changed, just as it creates a mapsettings.cfg file in the map folder as those setting are changed.

Thanks TD

i tried that , it didnt work.
So i thought , what if the fault is my internal hard drive?

So i copied my patched 8.351 files to it with the original map, guess what it works perfect.

So i now have a fully working 8.351 on the internal....but it is patched.
I havent created a DCT because it already had one so presumably the only patched file is the ttsystem file.

so i restored the original ttsystem file with YDGpatch.

doesnt work

Now this dont make any sense to me.

If the go520 is being updated by tomtom home to 8.351 then installing the tomtom original 8.351 you sent me with a retail map for my tomtom should work, should it not?

i will see what tomtom come up with in time and let you know.

Would it still allow an update on tomtom home in the future if i put a patched version of the correct software for the device on it?
e.g if NC v8.4XXX for my device comes out would tomtom home update it automatically?

It's been so long since I've had a patched official NC, that I don't remember. Even if TT Home doesn't offer it to you, you can always get it direct with a link like I just gave you.

Hi dsa

I tried your latest revision of dsa-win on my 'usual' computer and as before the generated files cause the XL to hang. I installed dsa-win on another machine and bingo it works, (what was that that I heard you say, 'thank ***' ;)). Look like you were right there is something about the Windows setup on the other computer.

Ok, I have a 520 running 8.351 perfectly (although it is the X40 of the Navcore). What I found is that when I went to install 8.350 previously through the official TT Home Update, I knew I'd still have to have a patched ttsystem file for my maps to be recognizable so I used yDGpatch on a official NC for my 520 and the ttsystem created didn't let it boot up which was strange, Anyway so after failing that I tried TTUser's ttystem file and that also was hanging up so then my last bet was to try dsa's ttsystem file and thankfully that worked. 8.351 came out (TTHome did give me an update option on the day of the release) so I got the official cab (X40) direct from tomtom and stuck it on with TTUser's ttsystem file and that worked first time.
So the moral of the story is, that Yes no matter what NC you have on your internal or external, official or non-official TTHome will or should still give you an Update if your Device has a New available Navcore for it. And also don't give up trying only 1 ttsystem file, try a few.

Hope this helps,

Mo.

"That means one of the map files is corrupt and it may need a repair."

What a load of rubbish it works fine with a patched ttsystem but i cant exactly tell them that can i?????

Now i dont know if this is relevant but when i wiped it and connected it to tomtom home it installed NC7.4XX and that booted fine but said "no maps found". now if i have an official map it should work in this machine for ANY working Navcore shouldnt it?

I've not really considered the CF conversion actually, To be honest the 910 (now that it actually works) is still only there as a spare back-up really & plus i wouldn't really do anything on it till the 6 months guarantee finishes on it in terms of hardware changes. My 520 is my Primary Device. The 910 is there for messing about with and doing tests and stuff and to store music on. Maybe in the future could be a possiblily though.

I've never left. I made something better than a single release, a "releaser" for past and future versions.

And this ttsystem.8351-legit is a mere legit (only the storage mount part is fixed, should have been TT's job). But probably with map-patching it would be for the high-end devices what a menu-and-map-patched one is for all others. My bad. :)

Link to dsa-win.zip, with CF support:

http://www.2shared.com/file/6136968/b6ffe88f/dsa-win.html

New: devices with a CF card (or an SSD) replacing the original hard disk - e.g. my go 910 with CF :), will benefit greatly from the support obtained by checking the newly added CF box in the TT CAB section of dsa.exe.

The generated package names have changed slightly, an "-CF" suffix is added if CF/SSD support is enabled.

Naturally, the CF support is ineffective for devices without HDD, even if so requested.

However, mainly by eliminating the read-ahead feature, the speed of CF I/O is notably improved (you can tell by looking at the percentage progress of the jukebox initialization, the old marathon-style count-up is more like a triple-jump now).

Link to dsa-all.06June09.zip:

http://www.2shared.com/file/6152814/f1e83aa3/dsa-all06June09.html

Content: all three dsa tools, dsa.zip for Linux, dsa-cygwin.zip for Cygwin/Linux (runs under Windows) and dsa-win.zip for Windows, brought up to date (with CF support).

Syntax of Linux scripts is as follows:
- first param of dsa-cabpatch is the TT cabinet file.
- second param of dsa-cabpatch should be 34, 35, 36, 13, 16 (for light emulation), or not present (for full x40 emulation).
- third param of dsa-cabpatch should be "yes" to have CF enabled.
- the only param of dsa-mappatch is a PNDNavigator or TTHome/DLL kind of file (NOT ttsystem).

Note that the two Linux based tools need the proper environment installed beforehand, while the Windows one is stand-alone and with a graphical interface, hence preferable.

Navcore 8.351, can be found in the previous couple of pages (DSA Navcore strongly recommended).

Maps 830.XXXX are the latest and thats it really.

Look around for some really easy to use map patching tools (Some also come with a Help function, Tendriver just recently posted one up I think)

Good Luck and Welcome to the world of TomToms,

NEW SPEED CAMERA'S & META.TXT FILE - 07-06-09

http://www.2shared.com/file/6171003/10f13377/Cameras__Meta_07-06-09.html

Hi Msubedar,

Thanks for the speed camera - good work.

Might it be asking too much if it is possible to include mobile carema as well?

Thanks again for your good work.

Bug fix in dsa-win.zip (cab file selection, dsa.exe), not essential. Apologies.

This goes to anyone who`s more into map patching than me. My TT has the card slot and ive learned how to replace maps/cams etc all by help and info from others from this site, couldn`t do it without em:D.
The problem ive got is a freind at work won a TTone V3 without a card slot and his map is out of date. So i said i`ll update it via TThome as its new he should be intitled to latest map garantee..? But after ages trying to connect and adding it as a new device to my HOME a message appeared saying its out of date/expired. My mate forgot to tell me he`s had it in use for more than 30 days:mad:.
So as i can access the internal memory which shows to be around 1GB could i just do to his maps and navcore as ive done to mine without bricking it?
Sorry its a long un but ive not been here for a while feel its needed:D

Thanks for any help on this.
