TomTom Home wants to update my Navcore to 8.3. What's new in it????
Among other things its :

Support for IQ Routes 24/7 data (map version 8.15 or higher required)
Support for SDHC cards (8GB and higher)

Wasn't expecting it to work but tried patching my TomTom One (v8 patched) with this.

I was right it doesn't work - tries to load up but locks on map screen trying to calulate a route

I had patched Nav 8.01 & patched NA 8.10 on a 720. I updated Nav to 8.3 thru TT home. I replaced ttsystem & HOME dll files with patched ones. NO PROBLEMS!!!!!

What is a Llc file and how do use that?

Navcore 8.3 works perfectly fine with mine Go920 :-). I drove 250 kms today. It plans the route well and everything works fine so far. The only problem im still having is that i cant operate it through mine tom tom home from the pc. :-(

You might connect your 910 to your puter and look at your 910 files with Windows Explorer. Open the voices folder and look at the .tlv files. See if you have more than one .tlv file per voice. If so, and one is L7.tlv, example Dave-L7.tlv, keep the L7.tlv files and cut the others. I had the same problem till I removed the ones that weren't L7.tlv.

I also noticed that after I've disconnected from TTHome and restarted my 910, the IQRoutes feature is disabled. I enabled it before I connected to TTHome but after disconnecting, it's disabled. I wonder if I'm actually getting updates.

In the voices folder are pairs of files in the format dataxxx.chk and dataxxx.vif where xxx is a number. The numbers range from 01 to 119. I must have a different problem.

When operating my 910 via TTHome (v2.4), I just noticed that some of the version numbers are different. For example, the boot version on the device is 5.5022; when I view the screen on TTHome, it indicates os is 1000, not 3024 as shown on the 910 screen. The screens don't match exactly either - on the TTHome view, some of the preferences are unavailable (shaded), for example, speech preferences and clock set are not available. However, I can set them on my 910.

I can't activate either the NA 8.15 2019 or Western & Central Europe 8.15 2003 maps for my Tomtom Go 920t . I am using "TomTom KeyGen v2.3 (v6-7-8)" and numerous other Keygens. I also need help activating Tomtom Go 910 with the latest official fw released by tomtom (7.9 I believe).

Strangely Ive been able to use Australia map 2057 and 2059 with navcore 7900, but only Australia map v2059 with PDA 7910 . Of course navcore 8204 can use all 3 of them.

Does anyone else have issues when trying to transfer favourites from one map to another?

I have been using UK IE map on my XL (navcore8203) and have just downloaded and installed the Western Central Europe map.

All is fine until i copy the mapsettings.cfg file in to the new map (the file containing my favourites).

When i reboot it just goes on a continual restart cycle and never works.

I have a TomTom Go 910 that I hope to update maps on soon. I've been checking the threads here off and on for a while, but haven't had time to dive into the possibly touch and go process of updating. I haven't had a day off in almost 2 months.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you guys for all the time and effort you put into these threads to help people like me. It is great to know that when I do get time to work on updating my GPS, these threads will be here. :)

Now, IVe downloaded this: North_America_2GB_v810.1907 Back about two months ago. It comes with a MEta Key (nothing I understand) from a private torrent site. Now, Im not new to the hacking pirate scene, but am new to something like this.

Now my question is, how do I install this onto my Tom Tom GO 720? I did download the key generator someone posted on here but thats about as far as Ive gotten. As I said, this file is for the 2008 maps and it comes with a meta key but Im not sure what I need to do. So, can anyone help? IF you can post here, PM me or Email me. Thanks folks.

1. Update your Navcore to 8.3 thru TT HOME, if you already haven't.

3. Make a back up of your TT720 using TT HOME.
4. From the patched Navcore file, copy the ttsystem file into your 720.
5. From the patched Navcore file, copy the 8-300-9732-1.dll file into the TT HOME folder on your puter. If you have Vista, it will be here:
Your Name/AppData/Roaming/TomTom/HOME/Profiles/bgmv5oco.default/extensions
6. Look inside your NA 810 folder and locate the files called META and PNA
7. Copy both files to the Easytools folder named "insert_meta_from_Map_here"
8. Make sure the meta.txt document is in the folder called Progs.
9. Now click on the, "RunMeforDCT" command script.
10.You should see 3 options
Select number 1 which says Run it for Navcore 8.010 and higher.
You then get 2 options
Select 1 which says Run Keygen for insert_meta_from_Map_here.
You should then have a generated DCT file appear in the "insert_meta_from_Map_here" folder.
11. Copy all the files in the "insert_meta_from_Map_here" into your NA 810 map folder.
12.Place your NA 810 map folder in the root of your TomTom i.e. NOT inside any other folder.

I left out a step. MY BAD.

In Easyusetools there is a file DeviceID.txt. You have to copy your device ID in there. Your ID can be found by tapping the blue bottom on your 720 map screen, then tap the Version button on the next screen. Copy it with NO spaces, ex AB7CDEFGHI.

These are the details I can find on the machine

GPS - V1.21 Boot 5.3029
UK & Ireland V675.1409

(also I have the device ID, but not listing that)

Does that mean I have NAVCORE 7.9?

ANyway I wish to put a map for Spain on it, I have downloaded the following maps

Western and Central Europe v720.1803
Western and Central Europe v720.1802
Western Europe v720.1802
Western Europe v720.1803

But I just cannot get any of them to work.

Any help greatfully accepted, I have tried the "Easyusetools" to no avail. Can anybody help.

Do i put the map on the tomtom or do I put it in my backup on HD . please help me.

Yes, but my understanding is that Navcore 8.3 is downloadable from TT HOME only on Go X20 and up units. If that is the case, you will need to copy the full patched Navcore 8.3 into your 910. Then follow the rest of the instructions.

Its not always consistent but happens when she's annoucing a lengther route. Thanx for your offer to help. However, unless one can read Spanish, they will never find the Activator to download it. If you really want to help, post the link to "Activador de mapas v7-v8 DrClone" here. As for adding an attachment, it is easy. Instead of doing a Quick Reply, click on the Go Advanced button. You will see a "paper clip" Click on it and follow the instructions for uploading an attachment.

Once you got the Activator it goes like this.

You can’t use it for PDA’s
It will work on any map v7 (7.20) or v8 (8.010) but only with a modified navcore and not with an original tom tom navcore.

An MSDOS window will open and there you will see information about your Tom Tom and the map(s) you have installed.
Select the MAP you want to activate and press ENTER
the next window will ask you what version of map it is you want to activate v7 or v8
Select 1 or 2 for the version and 3 of you want to exit and press ENTER.
If all went well you will see a next window indicating (mapname-15.meta) OK.
Press any key to exit.

Now your map should be activated and you can select it in your device to be used.
Important :
If you have navcore 7 (except ver. 7.900) u 8.002 we should select activar mapa version 7
if you have navcore 7.900 or navcore 8.010 and forward we select activar mapa version 8.

Joseph, I know you mean well. PROBLEM. You have to be registered to dowload the Activator. You need to know Spanish to register. Also there are no attachments to your post, just 2 unusable links to 2 pix on your puter.

Thanks to all that have tried to help me. I have eventually managed to register on the spanish site. but I am not able to find the download for the latest meta files. I keep going round in circles. If you could post an actual link to the posting with it, then that would be great. I note from you post that I require a modified navcore? Well guess what, I don't, well I dont think I do, so how do I get that? I have managed to download the two keygens though, but where do i put them, cos when I run it, all i get is a DOS window opening and closing very quickly!!! Basically I need more help!!

You are correct. Unzipping #1 will unzip them all. The password to unzip is: Password001.

Hi Tendriver, thanks for your help. ok, I have followed your method and i still get nowhere, though I seems I am getting closer. when I run the Easytools I end up getting as the image below.

After I do this the TOMTOM just freezes up on me. It sits on the TOMTOM start up screen and does nothing.....

would I be better starting from scratch again, with another map, oh also it said when I ran this earlier that the map was at this time unsupported? could not find meta.txt even though I put it where you said.

In the end all i want is to have a map that contains spain in it. I have a tomtom one. frome what I can see I have a V2 but I may be wrong. if you look at posting 307, you will see my details. If anybody can point me in the right direction I would be most grateful, I will download whatever is required, even new maps.

If all you want is to run a v720 map then you don't need an 8.3 Nav. Your One v2 was not designed to take that Nav easily.
Assuming your original Nav is v7, then you can make a dct as in your picture AND patch your original Nav ( v7) using EasyUseTools and running "RunMeforAllAutomatic".

How do I find out what Nav I have. ANd every time I have run easytools, it always tell me that my map is not supported. So what should the meta.txt look like , the ones I have have loads text in it for loadsa maps, should it only have the line for the western europe data? I am making some silly mistake here, somewhere....

Waiting to hear from BabeBrown on whether or not the 910 upgrade to v8.3 was successful. I'll give it a try on mine and see if it works with 8.10 NA and UKROI maps.

I have both maps on my 910 now with Navcore 8.010. When I switch from UKROI to NA, the 910 goes through a restart. Switching from UKROI to NA doesn't. Also, when I power up now, the 910 goes through a restart and the legal agreement page before I get to the maps. Any suggestions?

And you also lose the IQroutes facility that works with 810.

Done nothing more than copy the 815 map file sinto the current 810 directory, rerun the keygen and you lose IQroutes and lane guidance on a One.

Not a big deal but just noting in case anyone else has the same problem.

I realise there's lots of information here about updating my go 710, but I'm baffled!

I've found the v815 western and central europe map which will fit on the 2GB card - and I've downloaded it.
I've found the patcher program (thanks BuMobiles for keeping the link up to date) and downloaded that too.

Now I'd like to find a the version 8 firmware to make it work.
I downloaded an 8.3 file, but it comes in parts and to be honest its confused me!

I'd be grateful for any help anyone can offer me.

I realise there's lots of information here about updating my go 710, but I'm baffled!

I've found the v815 western and central europe map which will fit on the 2GB card - and I've downloaded it.
I've found the patcher program (thanks BuMobiles for keeping the link up to date) and downloaded that too.

Now I'd like to find a the version 8 firmware to make it work.
I downloaded an 8.3 file, but it comes in parts and to be honest its confused me!

I'd be grateful for any help anyone can offer me.

You don't "Patch" for TTS, you add the prog and voices and if the Nav is capable of running it, it will.

Worked fine on my puter with XP. I just moved program to away from c.drive to a partitopn of my choise then ran it and it started great and found my TomTom one streight away as internal partition. :)

There is a problem with your dll files, look in the insatlled folder\system\ you'll find a few dll's that might need registering to your system via the regsrv32.exe

A patched map HAS TO HAVE a patched ttsystem.

No it will not patch it.

The 815.2024 doesn't manage Lane guidance. The 815.2003 does, but not with NC 8.011. Buy another SD card (assuming yours does SD) and experiment with NC 8.204. Hours of jolly japes and hair pulling fun trying to get it to do what you already can do with your present set up.

I went in to the voices option and selected a normal voice as a trial and when selected it said no text to speech(ish). i opted for text to speech and it presented me with Tom, Sam and greyed out Emily and Daniel if I select them it indicates that they should be downloaded from tomtom or the tomtom disk. I don't have any Garmin kit or software.

To answer your question dlc's are Download Container Links. They are used in conjunction with progs like jDownloader and Crytpload. you load them into the prog and it decrypts them into downloadable links which are then downloaded by the prog. If the download has 2,10 or even 20 parts you don't need to keep your eye on it to click the next part once the first part is downloaded, the prog does it for you, including the wait in between parts if you don't have a Premium Account.
The links last longer as they are more difficult to report.
Most links will eventually become this as people are fed up with uploading for hours only to have it removed within minutes.
So, do bother yourself with it.

LoL! Start by creating a folder called VocalizerTTS ( exactly like this, Case Sensitive) in root. ( Not inside any other folder) Start with one voice only to see you have it right. Choose say. Samantha.
Copy the folders called common and enu complete with their contents into the VocalizerTTS folder. Copy the 3 ogg files called samantha0, samantha1 and samantha2 into the VocalizerTTS folder. Lastly, copy the HDR file vmobile_select_samantha_bet2f22 into the VocalizerTTS folder.
You should now have 2 folders, 3 ogg files and an HDR file in there ( 6 items in view) I am trying to be as unambigious as I can so don't fret if looks like I am treating you like a child by labouring each point.

DONE!

To add other voices say Tom, open tom's common folder and copy it's contents into the common folder already in VocalizerTTS folder alowing it to overwrite identical files. Do the same with tom's enu file into the enu file already in VocalizerTTS folder alowing it to overwrite identical files.
Copy tom's ogg files and tom's HDR file into the VocalizerTTS folder.

DOUBLE DONE!

Copy the folders called common and enu complete with their contents into the VocalizerTTS folder. Copy the 3 ogg files called samantha0, samantha1 and samantha2 into the VocalizerTTS folder. Lastly, copy the HDR file vmobile_select_samantha_bet2f22 into the VocalizerTTS folder.
You should now have 2 folders, 3 ogg files and an HDR file in there ( 6 items in view) I am trying to be as unambigious as I can so don't fret if looks like I am treating you like a child by labouring each point.

DONE!

To add other voices say Tom, open tom's common folder and copy it's contents into the common folder already in VocalizerTTS folder alowing it to overwrite identical files. Do the same with tom's enu file into the enu file already in VocalizerTTS folder alowing it to overwrite identical files.
Copy tom's ogg files and tom's HDR file into the VocalizerTTS folder.

DOUBLE DONE!

How do i create DLC files?

I have downloaded Cryptload and am able to download frm DLC files but i have the new Western Europe Safety Cameras that my legit tomtom downloaded today and want to upload them safely without any worry of link being removed.

What do i do?
Can cryptload upload files for me? cant find a way to if it does.

Have uploaded file to rapidshare so how do i now make secure DLC links?

as for these errors:

1, Drive Not Found? (did you press the refresh button and select the correct drive letter assigned to your tomtom devce / storage card ???

if yes, then use the command /ResetConfig after the TomTom Map Patcher to Reset the Configuration Data where the device is located :cool:

i.e. TomTom Map Patcher (Free Edition).exe /ResetConfig

2. Run-time error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument, this is that the dll's needed to run the software are not installed or registered correctly.

Use the TomTom Map Patcher DLL Package found on the 1st page to solve this problem

or to manually resolve this matter
create a file called install drivers.bat and edit this file,
then insert

Sounds like it works on XP but some of us are using Vista, The System folder for vista is system32 and the dll files found inside 'TomTom_Service_Suite_DLL_Package' are older then the files that are already installed. the 'TomTom_Service_Suite_DLL_Package' did not work. The bat file did not work. with the errors

'The module "stdole2.tlb" was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that "stdole2.tlb" is a valid DLL or OCX file and try again. this error was the error for all the files.

Sounds like it works on XP but some of us are using Vista, The System folder for vista is system32 and the dll files found inside 'TomTom_Service_Suite_DLL_Package' are older then the files that are already installed. the 'TomTom_Service_Suite_DLL_Package' did not work. The bat file did not work. with the errors

'The module "stdole2.tlb" was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that "stdole2.tlb" is a valid DLL or OCX file and try again. this error was the error for all the files.

LoL! Start by creating a folder called VocalizerTTS ( exactly like this, Case Sensitive) in root. ( Not inside any other folder) Start with one voice only to see you have it right. Choose say. Samantha.
Copy the folders called common and enu complete with their contents into the VocalizerTTS folder. Copy the 3 ogg files called samantha0, samantha1 and samantha2 into the VocalizerTTS folder. Lastly, copy the HDR file vmobile_select_samantha_bet2f22 into the VocalizerTTS folder.
You should now have 2 folders, 3 ogg files and an HDR file in there ( 6 items in view) I am trying to be as unambigious as I can so don't fret if looks like I am treating you like a child by labouring each point.

DONE!

To add other voices say Tom, open tom's common folder and copy it's contents into the common folder already in VocalizerTTS folder alowing it to overwrite identical files. Do the same with tom's enu file into the enu file already in VocalizerTTS folder alowing it to overwrite identical files.
Copy tom's ogg files and tom's HDR file into the VocalizerTTS folder.

DOUBLE DONE!

OK, been experimenting for a few days, and got the patched 8.010 firmware to run with UK & ROI maps v8.10 (build 1870) on my TomTom One V2 (at least it was originally a V2 - ttgo.bif reckons it's a V3 now ;)). However, I can't get Western & Central Europe 8.15 (build 2003 - from links a few pages back) to work at all - TT just says "No Maps found" - I've patched the maps with both Easy Tools 2.4 and BuMobiles new GUI, and it has appeared to work OK, but no joy when I try it it in the TT itself. OK - seems to be some kind of problem with v8.15/Build 2003 maps on 8.010 firmware on my TomTom One V2/3.

Next step for me is to try the 8.011 firmware posted by Tendriver and see if that fixes it - but maybe not tonight.....

Hello Everyone, I have got a TomTom 520 and I have managed to install with the help of BuMobiles Firmware V8.010 and UK & Ireland Map V8.10, When i dock my 520 now i get an option to upgrade it to FW V8.300 which i have been told not to do because not patched. What i need is Help with Safety Camera's, A Computer Voice as all i have now is Kate she is only the voice that can't do Text To Speech. Also i have downloaded UK & Ireland map version 8.15 so i wanted to ask shall i download this on an external sd card and run it on FW V8.010 (The one i already have on my TT now) Or shall i just stick with what i have now or is there a patched Version of FW 8.300 so then after i install that then i can put the new map on. Any advice would be great.

815 maps require nc8.203 or better for meta-19 (2003), only meta-22 (2024) will work as designed for 7.900 and above

I concur. It does not help. I am not going to make any more attempts to install BuMoblies program, unless he works out the problems with it on his end. EASYusetools works just fine.

Visual Basic Runtime is an integral part of the Vista OS. The current VBR Service Pack is SP6 which came out in 2004. No VBR package needs to be downloaded.

Just upgarde my TT One from Navcore 8.011 with 8.10 UK map to Navcore 8.204 and UK 8.15 2003. New icons look good and it seems to funtion fine. Only loss of function is TTS but I can live without that.

If you look back at one of rytenufs posts in answer to one of mine the 22 series maps do not support lane guidance or IQ routing but the 19 does. So my patched One running X30 emulation running UK 8.15 2003 (the 19.meta) works fine but the corresponding 8.15 2024 (22.meta) doesn't have the added functionaility.

Is this some ploy by TomTom to totally confuse everyone?

This worked to get the program started. I downloaded a Iberia 815 2003 map to see if it would work. I started your program and it would not patch the maps. I added the mata text to both meta.txt files one in \patcher and one in \patcher\progs folder then ran the program again. again it would not patch the map. one of the errors was im using the incorect navcore, im using 8.300. I did get the map patched using old faithful 'Easyusetools' im using the most up to date version Easyusetools_adapted_for7900x_6thNov2008. for what i have seen i think your program is very good and user friendly. keep up the good work

It will work with VocalizerTTS. Only English voices are both US english.
Posted somewhere in v8 or v7 thread by me a few days ago. Not as good as Loquendo TTS but it works.
BTW If you find navigate by postcode or long. & Lat. then the fix is, select small keyboard and qwerty options.

I think its the SDK emulation you need to use, i did that on my version 2 and all the voices work ok now.

A voice CAB needs to be unzipped. Create a folder to unzip it into. Then unzip the CAB file into it. That folder will then have the common & enu folders as well as 3 ogg files & a hdr file. From that point, follow rytenuff's instruction found in post 415 on page 28.

Cheers guys - got TTS working now. Problem was that although I'm reasonably IT literate, I've never had to use a *.cab file before, and I just opened it in Windows Explorer, so couldn't see the folder structure. Opened in WinRAR and it all made sense. Thanks to both rhytenuff and tendriver.

You cannot patch NC7.900 you need an already cracked ttsystem. You may download the package from the v8 thread

You will need to download and install, "Cryptload" to use dlc files.

I have downloaded Cryptload and am able to download frm DLC files but i have the new Western Europe Safety Cameras that my legit tomtom downloaded today and want to upload them safely without any worry of link being removed.

What do i do?
Can cryptload upload files for me? cant find a way to if it does.

Have uploaded file to rapidshare so how do i now make secure DLC links?

As I said Loquendo TTS doesn't work at the moment.
VocalizerTTS will if you make a few changes. The voices are posted here somewhere.

You have switchfile "ttsoff" either in the Config folder or in root at the moment. That is why you get the message NO TTS. You need to remove it.
You need to download a different version of the file "ttsserver" and replace it for the one in "outsourced".
If I could post bleedin' attachments I could put it in this post!! Damn forum quirks.

This is good. The way you have it set up, a person doesn't have to download the DLC file first. Just click the single download arrow & you go straight to the RapidShare download site.

I just updated my 720 to Navcore 8.204.9718, the NEWEST version for the TT GO x40 series. WOW!!!!! So far everything, that I have tested, functions. Also the New Icons & Speech Command.

After further testing, the only 2 things, I have found, that aren't functional are AUTO Night View & AUTO Dimming. Both have normal functions either manually or using Speech Command. A Google search brought up several discussions on this. It appears the AUTO Night View & Dimming is handled differently the x40 series units.

Look in your ASR folder. Is there a text file called " support_asr.dat"?
If not, open Notepad and type 1 (just the numeral 1) Don't press Return just select "Save as" and name it, support_asr.dat Make sure it doesn't say .txt at the end.
Place this file in the ASR folder.

I have a TTOne v3 and opened TTHome today and updated it. After the restart, it disabled my US & Canada map, but left my DE_AT_and_CH_plus_major... and FR_plus... maps in tact.

The US & Canada were version 7 something (-7.meta). The euro ones were version 6 something. The map files and folders are still on the device, I just can't switch to them.

I've ran the Map Patcher application and it says I have an unsupported firmware version, the patch firmware button doesn't show up.

The "installed application version" is 9180.

Any pointers on what I can do?
