If it's not a hardware issue and if your device is not a native x40 (top of line) you may upgrade it with dsa.exe, etc. You may upgrade it anyway (you'll get extra menu items of some interest).
Apply recipe in post #5557, NC v8.370. With dsa.exe from post #5734.

Hi guys , im having abit of a problem.
I'd like the homer voice on my Emulated PDA running Navigator 7.450 (I have the computer in my car, and i currently run Autoroute 2007 and it's getting a bit old :rolleyes:)
I've gotten everything to work except the damn voice , tt7_keygen wont touch it , tt8_keygen creates a .dct file(but since im v7 i can use it right ?)
I've put the .dcp/.vif/.chk/.bmp in my Voices folder on my storage card, and it still doesnt show in navigator :(
(Other voices show , such as the FAKE homer :( D'Oh)
Any help would be appriciated :)

Reset it via the pinhole, press the start button and immediately connect it to PC (do not let it start-up). If it still not seen by the PC, then you have a hardware problem and you'll have to send it to TT for repair.
If successfully connected to PC, in case you have "free" maps, check out the patching of the ttsystem/PNDNavigator with yDGpatch and the maps on device with Easyusetools.../RunMeforAllAutomatic(.cmd), option 1.
If all legit, ask TT for support.

yeah it wont do that, at least when I try resetting. Its as if the touchscreen doesn't work anymore which is really weird. I may have to send it in.

The first one is indeed deleted and it is replaced by the link in post #5734 (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4904535&postcount=5734).
The last two are containers (.dlc files) of the (hidden) map links which should be downloaded automatically with JDownloader (from http://jdownloader.org/); (http://jdownloader.org/%29;) Java is a prerequisite given on JDownloader's downloading page.
I have finally discovered why my go 910 did not work with NC v8.560... because of the CF card + adapter which I had instead of the original HDD.
I had to give up on my fast CF, hopefully temporarily, until the next NC is out and not marred by this surprising incompatibility.
Surprising since all NCs until now did not have any problem with the CF+adapter combination.
However, this is not the first time I had this kind of problem with a fast storage on go 910; a true SSD (Mtron) did not work either, and in an identical manner (reboot in the middle of the ttn start-up sequence).
So this is to let you all know that the dsa patching is alive and well :) as usually. And even enhanced by the bootloader switcher and the suspend menu item, all by-products of the NC v8.560 incompatibility with my go 910...

New: I got annoyed by the ever changing order of the hidden/shown extra menu items so now they will preserve their positions held at installation time.
By the way, the initial order is that in which the corresponding *.cap files have been added to (main storage) directory SDKRegistry.
To reorder items by hand, simply move the *.cap files out of the SDKRegistry directory and bring them back in the desired order which will become also their future displaying order. Do it preferably when all extras are shown.

Actually, the main screen of the "x20 Skin" will NOT differ from the x30/x40 modes, but there will be a direct access to the old "Status summary" screen (that shows the battery icon, etc.) by clicking the rightmost tab of the (horizontal) status bar.
It seems a bug of this v9.000 NC the lack of direct access to the old status summary screen which was better designed and more comprehensive.

Yes, I did it! :)
There is an overall improved graphical interface.
The old "status screen" is inaccessible, unless the "x20 Skin" is selected, but both x20 and x30 lack proper skin files - so some menu icons won't be displayed correctly, though the labeling is right.
Many trailing bugs were fixed, but not all.
The menu interface is mostly backward compatible, while access to the status screens (gps, version) has been buried in the last "preferences" screen.
The recommended settings, x40, no MB (no kernel support for swapping available) (and no CF).
The L37 selection is OK too (it's a new mode, that came with NC v9.000), though I would classify it as a lite mode as compared to x40 because less "preferences" screens are available (just 7 as compared to 9 for the x40 mode).
I like it, except for the lack of support in the kernel for my CF card+adapter storage, they have ruined it starting with v8.560...

Does anyone have info about the availbility of maps for Central America.
Im staying since mid September in Nicaragua and won't be back in Europe until mid December.
The city's over here have an infrasrtucture as if planned by a drunk and there are no proper maps (in print) either.
It is very dificult to find your way around and my GO 910 would be a solution if I could find a map.

I strongly recommend to all to reinstall their NC (rerun dsa.exe taking care to redo the patching from scratch, that is to erase first the corresponding dsa_navcore.xxxx.zip old package - it's next to the source TT CAB file) and also erase the folder xxxx on their device main storage, where xxxx is equal to the NC version number, e.g. for NC v9.000, xxxx will be 9000 (no dot).

speed cameras.
ok fellas just to let you know whats going on with the speedcameras.
recently i had over 40 gig worth of tomtom uploads on both rapidshare and megaupload killed as a result i have not bothered to update them. back to now, i sent my updated files to the maverick for inclusion in his pack today and i'm going to post the full pack up in a short while. but if they get killed off again i wont upload them ever again

You could package your link into an encrypted DLC container with JDownloader and post it to 2shared.com, they have never deleted my stuff.
Not to mention that they do not restrict the number of simultaneus downloads, or the speed, etc.

Hey Pal, just wanted to say that the person wanted to post a version 8 map which should stay only in the Version 8 thread as it is not a version 9 map, keep the 2 threads contents separate, its best not to mix them up. When version 9 maps become available which will be very soon then they can be posted in the version 9 thread.

I totaly ****ed up my 720. I can't reinstall a backup because the file tables.dat is causing me problem. There is no way to delete that file.

hi guys , just a quick question.. i bought the tomtom xl classic yesterday and i need to update the maps as im a hgv truck driver and need it asap, tomtom home asked for over £35 to update the maps as its 3/4 of this yr old !,and i dont fancy splashin that sort of money to them lol, im asking could someone plz take me to a direct link for tomtom xl classic (v815.2024) maps and as i call it "the idiots guide "for install please..
and 1 more question. im also lookin / trying to install .(idiots guide for this 2 plz ) ( low bridge.com BridgeX and TruckStops+ Bundle ) for the same tomtom.

The new map is 'Western and Central Europe TRUCK 835.2472' not sure where you can find it on this forum to download it but im sure if you do a search for it you should find it.
you also need to update your navcore to 8.390.1807 WORK.

Can someone PLEASE help me?I think my heads going to explode!!I have JUST purchased a TomTom 920 go and have NEVER
had anything like it before.Can someone point me to the right place for ALL the UK/Europe?Canary Islands and USA maps PLEASE.I need to be abled to just download them straight to my tomtom and they work if thats possible :( .Also the UK maps
