Nevermind, thanks to Johnnyboy I have installed 8.2 and everything works.

What have they done to the compass? Before I 'up'graded to navcore 8 I had a compass arrow with straight line distance to destination. Now I have a compass arrow pointing north and a direction of travel bearing on the status bar. Very useful for cross ocean navigation but useless on the roads. I've gone through the settings but it seems there are no other options.
Any ideas?
Other than blasting emails at TT complaining, which I will do if someone on here doesn't call me 'thicko' at points me to how to change it.

Hi guys,

Can anyone please post the correct meta.txt for the Western_and_Central_Europe_815_2023 map? The one above doesn't seem to work on my TT one XL. My keygen creates the Western_and_Central_Europe-21.meta.dct file, but my tomtom doesn't recognise it and keeps re-booting. When I remove the .dct file, my tt starts OK, but without the map. I've looked at the ttgo.bif file and the part thet defines the used map looks like this:

CurrentMapVersion=0.0

I'm just guessing this is due to the incorrect meta.txt.

I suspect the prob is that, in the meta you used, there is NO space between 94 & Western. Try this one.

C'mon man! That's just how I posted it. The important part is "76 B3 CC 96 2B 38 86 23 9A FA 24 4A 91 43 FD 94". It seems to only work for PNA. I also think the meta should have number 22, not 21.

C'mon man, yourself!!!! That IS NOT just how you posted it. I suggest you look at Kl@r@_KoRn's (Kl@r@_KoRn's) qoute in your post 758. You will see in the meta text that there is NO SPACE between 94 & Western. I posted the SAME meta text WITH a space between 94 & Western. You can bet your SWEET BIPPY that I won't attempt to help you again!!!!!!

It's supposed to work with PDA, I spent two days downloading something that said it was 2024, but it was really 2019 that does *NOT* work with PDA. I smell wet rat. I also need meta. I have looked through 3 million posts, and still cannot find it, but it must be out there, others say it works?

My Tomtom One is a V1 with application 7.162 and map France 720, activated with keygen and ... at the time !

I updated by tomtomhome in 7.903 and then, " no map found!"
I tried to put a navcore beta 8.051 in replacing the existing files, tomtom works hand it puts me that "the card can not work!"

I do not know how! I watched all your messages but nothing to do, I have to miss something!

If I remain in 7.903 with a map 8.15.2024 France, What should I do?
If I put the 8.051 version, which seems very well, with a map 8.15.2024 France, What should I do ?

if someone could spend some time and explain what is wrong and what I do, it would be really cool!

Download the keygen from post #2 and run it. Select option 1 "for 8.10 and higher" to make a new DCT file. Put that into your map folder to replace the one in there already.

Make sure that this is in the meta text which is found in Progs folder:

Sorry to sound a complete noob here. I'm trying to upgrade my TomTom Go 510 running application version 7.903 to the latest software version eg version 8.xxx. Can anyone tell me exactly what i need please? Ive tried so many different downloads and dont seem to be having much luck at all.

I have managed to download the following map - "United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_v8.10.1870".

So what i need to find out is how do i get version 8 software and maps running on my 510?

2 questions for you first. What TT do you have, and what operating system is on your puter?

I would make a copy of the current Navcore files before I did an overwrite. Then copy (overwrite) the files in the "navcore_SE_8.204.9718_basicpack" folder into your TT device. Open the "SE_ttsystem.8204.9718.x10.x20.x30.rev.1.3.3" folder and copy the ttsystem file into your device. To operate your TT from TT HOME on your puter, copy the "Home_Navcore.8.204.9718_tomtom.com" FOLDER, not just the contents to here on your puter: C:\Users\XXXXXXX\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME\Profi les\bgmv5oco.default\extensions

That should do it.

Yes, it's working very well now. If someone wonders is western and central europe map v815.2034 working with this ttsystem/navcore (?) 7.903.9183 or 7.900.xxx I have it in my Go910 and it's working very well with both of them.

I was wondering, is it possible to use navcore/ttsystem v.8.204.9718 in Go910? I have read that it is possible and someone has done it, but I won't get it to work. My Go just freezes. What exactly I have to do to get it work or is it even possible to use this nc in go910 anyway? Thanks!

hi russ, if you tomtom is freezing or restarting you haven't put the files on your device correctly

try installing v8 patched firmware,
copy maps over,
then run the tomtom v7/8 keygen and generate new dct and meta files for your maps ;)

v8 firmware is the navcore_SE_8.204.9718_basicpack. You did copy the files out of the basicpack folder to copy them into your device and not copy it as a folder, did you not?

The help part of what im getting to is, Ive got a tomtom one and now with the help of BuMobiles,tendriver,rytenuff... its got v8.204 navcore and v815.2003 uk & irleland maps which is perfect for me. But ive a cousin who has an older tomtom go 300 ive stupidly told him i could update his software to give him the same as mine. Unfortunatly its a second / third hand unit and neither he or original owner have ever had it connected to the net to update. So ive got a spare 2GB SD card but im pretty sure due to its age it wont be compatible with the same as mine? But if it is possible to update in any way id be most gratefull. His tomtom has v6.520 navcore and v562.0 uk maps.:confused:

I know of no reason why you SD card would not be compatible with the GO 300.

I’ve got a TomTom one. Using the posts on this forum I have upgraded it with v8.204 navcore and v815.2003 UK & Ireland map. Every thing works on it fine apart from when using navigation using Post code it hangs up powers down and re-powers. Navigation using address and house number works fine. All other navigation works fine. Weird that the post code is a problem???????????
The tele atlas zip is ID=GreatbritainPostal_TeleAtlas version=801

Is your Navcore cracked or official download from tomtom? You cannot patch the later official Navcores, you must install an already cracked one. Without that you will not be able to patch maps.

The videos don't require Cryptload.
Stuff gets taken down too quickly when normal links are used. DLC files are the future you will have to find a way past your router and use Cryptload or jDownloader.

Thanks to this forum I have been able to update my TT one (first edition) to currently Navcore 8.01 running GB map 8.15 2024, however no matter what I try I am unable to get the device to run the 8.15 2003 map!
I have tried both the 8.2 Navcore (various features, postcodes ect don't work) and Navcore 8.3 (just freezes when trying to access the menu) has anyone got a 1st edition TT one working with this map? If so, how?

Thanks to this forum I have been able to update my TT one (first edition) to currently Navcore 8.01 running GB map 8.15 2024, however no matter what I try I am unable to get the device to run the 8.15 2003 map!
I have tried both the 8.2 Navcore (various features, postcodes ect don't work) and Navcore 8.3 (just freezes when trying to access the menu) has anyone got a 1st edition TT one working with this map? If so, how?

If you haven't already done this, start Cryptload. In the upper right hand corner, click on the Options button (blue bordered box with 2 red checks). Then click on Router and set your router.

Actually, you CAN buy EE 8.15 for your 720. Go to TT HOME maps and select VIEW ALL. Yes, you will have to put it on a SD card, if you keep your WE on your device.

According to TomTom, Navcore 8.300 will support SDHC 8GB and higher. If you have a map on the internal memory, I would pull the SD card out to see if it functions normally without it.

I will be very surprised, if you get a response. VERY FEW have a 16GB SDHC card, or even an 8GB. Good Luck.

I am running TTgo520 wit patched 8.3, with 16gb sdhc. first I tried the os on internal memory and maps uk/ire + WCE 2gb both v815.2oo3 on the card.
It didnt seem that stable, the 520 only has 512mb internal.
So I formated the internal memory and the sd card, then I dumped every thing on to the sd card.

The ebay card I am using is from a seller called worldhkmarket (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/worldhkmarket)
in China I paid £19 inc free p&p to uk.

Hey tendriver - really appreciate the effort, but the links don't work. Must have been dumped quickly by rapidshare. I did manage to download v815.2022 for the GO 720 from one of your earlier posts using CryptLoad but was a bit concerned with the size of the extracted map. It was only 875MB. The links, that don't work, in my post 845 page 57 were copied from my post 639 page 43. THOSE links still work. THEY were copied from the ipforum link. Go figure.

I don't think you get lane assist with that map - you need to use the 8.15.2003 map don't you? Same for IQ routes.

This means "++Upgrade of meta xxxx (date)++", but the latest ones I have seen are from 10-12-2008.

I'm sure you have tried Logging Off, closing your Browser and/or even a cold puter boot.

Anytime you use a "patched" map, you have to use a "patched" Navcore. There is not a link that has "patches" to ALL of the Navcores. I have never seen any reference to a "patched" Navcore 8.051

The reason I refer to it as "cracked" ttsystem is because people get confused by the wording of the EasyUseToools which talks about "patching" the ttsystem file. The EasyUseTools can no longer "patch" the later Navcores as it could with the older Navcores, hence the need for an already "cracked" ttsystem file. The TTUser's readmenot file is missing from the posted keygen in this forum so people don't know they can no longer "patch" the ttsystem file.

hi russ, if you tomtom is freezing or restarting you haven't put the files on your device correctly

try installing v8 patched firmware,
copy maps over,
then run the tomtom v7/8 keygen and generate new dct and meta files for your maps ;)

Just to let you know i got it all working correctly today. Not sure what i did wrong before but it seems starting on a fresh day made all the difference. Got V8 maps and software running now. Really pleased.

Cheers for the advice just a little patience paid off in the end. Though a bit long winded, First i tried putting the navcore8204+v815_2003 maps straight on the sd card. It just hung on the splash screen. Then remembered thats not how i got more up to date stuff on my own tomtom. It gets updated all the time, so does the bootloader. So i dug out an older navcore fw_7.162 +720_1802maps loaded that on sd card that worked. Then i loaded FW 8.10 + v8.10.1870 maps. This seemed to do the trick for the bootloader that allowed for naveco8204 and V815_2003 maps. So my cousin now has an old TomTom Go300 with everything up to date including CAMS,LANE GUIDANCE,MP3 etc. All credit really due to everyones input to this forum. Without that i wouldn`t have a clue. Hope this can help anyone else with an old unit. :)

Not if the map doesn't have it. It seems that not all versions have IQR and AGL. Example: North America 815.2019 has it, but Usa and Canada 815.2022 doesn't. I nave read on other forum that bigger maps for more expensive units do have it, but smaller versions under 1gb do not.

In brief IQR is automatic. When you put in a destination, the results will tell you IQ route for the date & time, if you have IQR. On page 3 of TT device preference, you will see the option to turn AGL on or off, if you have it.

I'm really lost... For days I've been trying to find a solution to update my old TomTom 2nd Edition device... I tried several things... But they all get hooked up... I get a splash screen and that's it - only the restet button will help. Can anybody please point out at a Navcore version and Western (and Central) European map to use? See if TT HOME will attempt to upgrade your Navcore 8.300 to 8.320. If so, let it, then just copy the patched/cracked ttsystem from the patched 8.320 download. If not, then yes copy the new files into your 520 root.

I'm stuck with my friend's One V2 at the startup picture - the same fault as a number of other chappies on this forum are when trying to to upgrade to Navcore 8.204.9718 or later!

I've copied all the files contained in the NC downloads (versions 8.204, 8.300 & 8.320 have all been tried!) to the 'root' of the TomTom, along with all the files in the 'ASR' folder and the map folder(Western_and_Central_Europe 2GB in my case), maps v8.15.2003 meta.19 and the device hangs at the startup picture & will not connect to the PC again unless reset.

I have also tried dumping Johnny157's contents he uploaded direct onto a fresh 2GB card & this doesn't work either!

If I use TT Home's System Info tool after resetting the TomTom it still reports 'Application 6.560', suggesting a firmware/system file mismatch - can anyone suggest where I'm going wrong please?

Chris - try looking for and downloading the NavCore_8_Update_for_TomTom_One.zip file. It has excellent step by step instructions. Although it installs version 8.011 it is worth a bash.

Thanks, Member Archercj, I've had a look for the files you suggested but rotten Rapidshare have deleted 'em!

However I'm a *Bit* further forward - my device now boots but only to a plain dark blue screen with a message "Waiting for a valid GPS Signal" (no b/w maps) and then reboot at regular 1 min intervals! - although I did get
5 satellites an hour ago - (I'm indoors)

TT Home recognises it as TomTom ONE v4 with App 8.320.9901 and Maps 8.15.2003 & occasionally I get a boot loader screen on the TT device itself of white text but this vanishes too quickly to read.

I'm using the following config:-

Version.txt:- A 8300 B 9732 for X30 emulation
model.txt:- x30
cycle.txt:- x30

Files:- fmon, bton (for speedcamera button) viewmsg (boot messages on)

Can anyone put their finger on this snag please?

I admit to floundering in deep waters here as I'm used to keygens, automatic patchers and installers & manual configuration of TT's is new to me!! Thanks to everyone so far who's advised me!

No you didn't do anything wrong. These map files get pulled off the download sites so fast that they are being up-loaded with dlc files to stop this problem.
Go here: http://cryptload.info/?lang=en (http://cryptload.info/?lang=en) Download and install Cryptload (It's free). Then click on the dlc file and Cryptload will download it for you.

You are correct, but it is very basic. Since a TT One 3rd Ed. has no SD slot, then there is no other option.

I suggest going back to an earlier Navcore that functions normally. Then see if TT HOME offers you 8.320. If so, installed it from TT HOME. If that uncracked version functions properly with an uncracked map, then copy the cracked ttsystem file into it and try a cracked map.

I just restored my go910 to an earlier navcore and all other stuff. TT Home only gives me nc 7.903 (I use pre-patched version of this) and all v8.xxx and up can't be used in go910... I wonder why, because this 8320 more or less worked.

I also found an answer for this lane guidance question and it is this:

This feature requires application version 8.xxx and map version 8.00.xxxx (or higher) to be installed on the device.

Even though I had this lane guidance option in my TT go910 menu and it could be turned on or off and it gave error message with map w&ce 815.2034 but not with 810.xxx or 815.2003, I believed it worked, but it doesn't. I think x10 versions are missing some files which can be found from these x20, x30 and x40 versions. It would be cool if someone could solve this issue.

I just restored my go910 to an earlier navcore and all other stuff. TT Home only gives me nc 7.903 (I use pre-patched version of this) and all v8.xxx and up can't be used in go910... I wonder why, because this 8320 more or less worked.

I also found an answer for this lane guidance question and it is this:

Even though I had this lane guidance option in my TT go910 menu and it could be turned on or off and it gave error message with map w&ce 815.2034 but not with 810.xxx or 815.2003, I believed it worked, but it doesn't. I think x10 versions are missing some files which can be found from these x20, x30 and x40 versions. It would be cool if someone could solve this issue.

The latest Navcore for the new X40 units is 8.204. I know there are guys running it on 910's.

you have a corrupt file on your device making this device crash when trying to boot.

There are plenty of patched N.C programs here just go back afew pages and pick one. I am using N.C 8.204 on my TomTom one 30 series Europe with UK & ireland, Australia and New Zealand 815 maps and all work fine.

It appears to be exactly as you referred to it. To be sure, you can tap the lower right corner of the unit main screen, then tap where it gives the version number and you should see the version, TomTom One XXXX.
I have seen several posts when guys have upped their Ones with no problem.

It's the same as mine. Commonly referred to as One v2 although HOME will call it v3!

8.204 is the Navcore foe the NEW x40 devices. It has the new icons and voice command. It appears to be faster than 8.300.

No I haven't tried 8.300 didn't see the point as I have IQ routes, ALG and 815.2003 map working fine.
Switchfiles? Depends on what you want it to do. I use SDK Registry and have x30, x40, reboot, and move pics in there.
I didn't need to use a ttgo.bak file. I used the HOME fixed .dll file and had no problem.
Only postcodes I have are GB and NL latest. See:

You really shouldn't need to use switch files AT ALL. If you want to call your 730 a 940, a GO One XL, etc, then you would use model.txt

LoquendoTTS is computer voices and is required to speak street names. VocalizerTTS is real voices and only gives turn left, turn right, etc. Since you have a 730, you probably want LoquendoTTS.

No, VocalizerTTS is computer voices. They don't just give turn left etc. They give Street names etc too. The limitations are, only three languages available. Spanish, French and US English. Two voices, one male one female in each language. The pronunciation is not as good as Loquendo so if your machine will accept Loquendo that is the obvious choice. The ONE v2 using Nav 8.204 will not work with Loquendo but can be made to work with VocalizerTTS with a change of ttssystem file.

What I've noticed while cruising this evening with my GO730 running v8.204, it doesn't automatically switch to night mode. I don't know whether there is no light sensor built-in or there is a software/hardware issue with my TT.

Any ideas?

It's a known feature of that Nav. The 40 series have a new and different type of light sensor. No known fix at this time.

Bootloader 5.5106 (file is called system5.5106) works well on ONE v2 and will enable use of > 4GB cards.

As far as I am concerned you don't have to do any changes to ttsystem file yourself, just upload patched one to your TT.

Well, okay... no one around here felt like help me fix my problem to find a working upgrade to my old navcore. Anyway, I did manage to get v8.204 running. But since doing so I can't seem to receive gpsfix-updates. Can anybody please tell me if this is normal (are those fixes not needed anymore???) or to solve that problem???

Oh, and just to add that: of course I patched Home and I do get Mapshare updates... It's just that there are no gpsfixes...

I've seen a couple of guys claiming that they have Loquendo working with One vs and 8.204 but on further questioning they admit it is VocalizerTTS.
You know from asking yourself in another place that no one has given an answer about HOW they got it working. If they have managed to fix something others have not they would be posting about it all over the place.TTUser has not posted a fix for it either. Enough said.

The One v2 has only got 32MB of RAM. The Outsourced folder removes some of the files which are usually run from RAM and runs them from the folder. This enables the poor RAM amount to cope with the other things you might like to run. VocalizerTTS for example.
Load it up without the Outsourced folder and look at how much RAM you have free. Now look again with the folder in root. If there is no difference for you then don't use it.

How did you get it working? All the info to install it is contained in these threads. Presumably you read them more thoroughly than you did the first time?
Look in your TomTom for a folder called, "ephem". Read the text file inside called, "ee_meta" . It will say something like, Expiry= xxxxxxxxx where x equals numerals. Copy these numerals into the box HERE (http://www.onlineconversion.com/unix_time.htm)
It will tell you when the GPSFix expires. If it is less than a week, HOME may not give you an update.
They are limiting the updates from time to time when their servers are busy.

You can try deleting the files in ephem ( save them somewhere first) and see if HOME will give you an update then.
