Are you saying that your "Navcore.8300.9732tomtom.com" folder actually is in the "extensions" folder?
Hi tendriver,
Indeed, it is in the extensions folder just like this I copy/paste"C:\Documents and Settings\Jos\Datos de programa\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\q9ktmbkq.default\ext ensions\Navcore.8.300.9732@tomtom.com".
Than in the Navcore folder: I have 11 files, the first is :8-300-9732-1.dll ,2nd chrome.manifest, than 8 data.* and the last one being :install.rdf .
In my 910 I can now also see the ttgo.ori, but is has the same data as the ttgo.bif.
The HOME version I have is the 2.5.
All in all, it looks OK, but HOME does not agree.
Any other idea?
One more question, how to make home change to drive D: for a backup?
I don't have that much space on my C: drive.
Thanks for helping.
Cheers, Joseph.

That is good. We are making progress. Now with your 910 turned on and connected to your computer, in TomTom Home, click "Add Maps, Traffic, Voices etc", then "Maps". If it shows a map located on "My Computer", then click the add button.
HI TENDRIVER

I KNOW THAT IS GOOD ,ALL THE GOOD ADVISE IS FROM YOU AND BECOUSE OF YOUR IDEA MY TOMTOM IS NOW WORKING ,BUT UNFORTIONLLY THER IS ONE PROBLOM WICH IS THE MAP ,SO PLEASE HOW YOU CAN SORT THIS PROBLEM BECOUSE WHEN YOU TOLD ME TO GO TO in TomTom Home, click "Add Maps, Traffic, Voices etc", then "Maps".THER WAS NOT ANY MAP IN MY COMPUTER TO ADD IT THAT IS WHY ONE MORE TIME INEED YOUR HELP FOR THE MAP IF YOU CAN PLEASE , I KNOW THAT I TOOK FROM YOUR TIME TO MATCH , BUT PLEASE WITH OUT THE MAP THE GO 910 IS DEAD ,MANY THANK'S FOR YOU AND YOUR TIME

Hi omega,
I do understand that you feel a bit frustrated, but there is no need to shout!
If you read this item from the first page to here, you will learn a lot and perhaps realize where you go wrong.
Happy New Year.

1. Just so you are aware. The only thing the Navcore.8.300.9732@tomtom.com (Navcore.8.300.9732@tomtom.com) folder does, is allow you to operate your TT from your computer. It has nothing to do with GPSFix or MapShare updates.

2. My only suggestion is to completely delete Navcore 8.30 (all files & folders except your map folder) from your TT and reinstall it. That is what I would have done a long time ago.

3. To put a back-up on your D: drive, open TT HOME, Tools, TT HOME Preferences, Folder Preferences. Then in Backups change to where you want to put a backup

I must be missing the obvious since no one else seems to be having trouble with tthome and connecting to a computer. I followed your suggestion and kept track of my steps - and still failed. Here's what I did (sorry for the detail):

1. Attach the 910 to the computer
2. Open the 910 in win explorer. .bif file has version 7903, .bak file has version 7903, ori file has version 8204
3. eject the 910
4. disconnect the 910 (yellow bar loads across bottom)
5. turn off 910
6. Copy the folder you reference above (navcore.8.204...) into the extensions folder.
7. turn on 910 (it's not connected to computer; the screen display is the language selection menu).
8. Pin reset the 910
9. turn on 910 again (yellow bar loads), legal notice splash appears, [I agree], 910 starts normally
10. turn off 910
11. Start TTHome; select "Operate My Go"; connect 910, turn on 910
12. TTHome says " Home needs to d/l file", [Yes]
13. File loads and language screen appears - same as in step 7)
While file is loading, I watch the extensions folder and see folders for v7162, v7900, and 7903 appear. Folders v7162 and v7900 are empty.
14. Select [Done]; eject; disconnect (yellow bar loads);
15. 910 waits, then displays language screen
16. Turn off 910
17. Turn on 910; language screen appears; pin reset; turn on and all is ok again although this time I have to do a pin reset twice.

I'm out of ideas on this - but at least the 910 works beautifully when I need it. I just have to keep a paper clip handy ;)

May I suggestion that you completely delete the Navcore (all files & folders except your map folder) from your TT and reinstall it. That is what I would have done a long time ago.

I did try this a couple weeks ago when I updated my 910 from 8.203 to 8.204. I completely cleaned my 910, including the map folders, and installed 8.204 from scratch. The problem I described above was occurring with 8.203 and continues to occur with 8.204.

The problem may not be with home at all since it happens when I attach my 910 to my computer and then disconnect it. The 910 always goes back to the language selection menu which means I have to to a pin reset to get it back to normal functioning. But what do I know?:(:o

I know the problem isn't TT HOME. It appears to be a bootloader problem/conflict. Uninstall 8.204 and install this one. Then change the ttsystem file.

Try to put all the bif, bak and ori files in a folder, say Store, so the device can't find them, then reboot to allow a new bif to be made by your device. It should then say 8.204 in bif. Then try connecting to HOME. It should then use the 8.204 ready made home folder. Works for me!
Failing that a re-install probably would be the best.

What bootloader are you using? If it is corrupted you could try a higher one maybe.
Are you using any switchfiles in root or in the Config folder if you use that?
I am thinking about you losing your settings in your device here rather than the Home problem.

This is too strange. I followed the above, connected, then started tthome and "Operate...". After a long d/l, the screen on home asked me to select one of my 3 maps - not the same screen that I had before which was the one for selecting a language. I tried each one and home refused to load it saying that it wasn't supported. I then disconnected and looked at the 910; it now contains only a ttgo.bif file which looks like the same as my old one (v8204, etc.) but there is no .bak or orig file. After a pin reset, the device works fine again. The extensions folder has the patched v8204 folder plus 3 others - v761, v790, and 793, all of which are empty.

I'll now try tendriver's suggestion and re-install from the rar in his post.

Thanks to both of you for the help.

12-31-2008, 19:38
With the cycle in root it will naturally cycle between the two models you have set. x40 and xls every time you switch on. I would suggest you remove cycle from root or config whichever you are using and select which model you wish to use and write that in model.txt.
Then I would make new dct files for your maps for the navcore you are using. Option 1. in EasyUseTools.

Make sure you are not using switchfiles in BOTH config folder AND root.

If I am reading TTUser right, pilotman doesn't need any of that "EXTRA" stuff.

rytenuff
12-31-2008, 20:29
TTuser wrote the Extras for anyone who wanted the options. I couldn't see the point of cycle personally but some people must have a need for it or asked for it or he wouldn't have bothered to write the Extras.
You don't need model.txt either if you want to use the model the Nav was released for. But, pilotman might want to emulate a different device like x20 or x30 or xls. Only he knows.

I believe if cycle ( and the cycle settings .dat) is removed then the problem with having to do settings again will be gone.
I also feel that new dct files will sort the Home thing using Ready made folder and normal bif.

Quite right. So many user don't understand that they don't need that extra stuff and throw it in their TT root directory, and it gets them all screwed up. All I do on my device it take a stock Navcore, drop a ttsystem file in it and put the appropiate @tomtom.com folder in TT HOME. Then take a map and drop a .dct file in it, and I am done.

I'm thankful to both of you (tendriver and rytenuff) for helping me through this. I took out my config folder and couldn't get my device to work so I put it back in but removed the cycle.txt file and the .dat file. When connection to home, I can load the mapshare updates but when I go to the operate screen, I get the error message that I don't have the correct "application." Sure, I know that - I'm running v8.204 when I should be running 7.903. Shouldn't there be something in my 910 that tells home that I am running the correct application? Does home know I have a 910 and won't allow it to run a v8 navcore?

The reason I run the x40 mode with 8.204 is that it gives me voice input, IQ routes and lane guidance (on two of my maps). I think the v8.204 was designed for the x40.

tendriver's suggestion is very appealing but I don't want to lose those extra features. Lane guidance is very helpful in working around the spaghetti-like highways around the metro areas here and IQ routes has saved me a bit of time on a couple of occasions.

We are dealing here with a few problems and getting lost as to what has occured after which change.

Does your device still want you to redo the settings after connecting and disconnecting your device or has removing the cycle and cycle settings .dat fixed that?

Are you now just using a bif which says 8.204 in root?

Have you tried now adding a bak with the 7.903 etc in it?

If you have, have you also patched that in Home after TT Home downloads it?

1. Now when I connect/disconnect from the computer, the 910 reboots (I assume that's that the yellow bar across the bottom means) and I see th legal screen - which I accept and then I go to my last map view. Hooray, that seems solved.

2. The bif file lists 8.204 as the version

I will create a .bak file and replace the 8.204/9718 with 7.903/9183. I'm not sure what you mean by patching "that" in Home. In extensions there were 4 folders 7162, 7900, 7903 and the patched 8204. I removed all of them and started Home which requested to d/l a file. I agreed and 4 folders were loaded - 7162, 7900, 7903, and 8204. All were empty except for 7903 which has the dll and other files in it. What should I patch?

When I disconnected the 910, the unit went back to the language menu as before. It seems that home must have loaded something on my 910. I navigated through all the menus and now the device is running as before.

That's worth a lot! By "stock" do you mean the files that are in the Navcore_8.204...cab file you mentioned above? And I assume the .dct file was obtained by running easy tools on the 8.15.2003 map. Did the ttsystem file come from the same .cab file?

This sounds too simple after all the messing around I've done. :) Is the TTHome folder an already patched 8.204 or 7.903? I still don't understand how to prevent home from downloading a new folder.

I'll give this a try tomorrow - of course after saving my partially-working version.

It would be hard to compare, because I don't get the features that are available in the UK & Europe, ie speed cams, fuel prices, traffic, google, weather etc. What is available is in the link that I posted a few days ago. You would be better off comparing your 520 to that.

One step back and finally 2 steps forward. I set bif to 8204 and bak to 7903 and after placing the contents of the 8204 patched dll folder into the 7903 folder that TTHome created (and deleting its contents) I was able to operate my 910 through home. Home thinks my 910 is a 520 but it shows the appication as 8204 and recognizes the 815 maps. The map view shows no roads and the menus are not the same as on my 910 (they are x40 menus) but I can live with that since I can now d/l mapshapre and gps updates without problems.

After disconnecting from home, I saw that the bif file application had been changed to 7903, same as bak. However the ori file has 8204.

You must have decided not to do it the easy way. Guess what you have is better than nothing. As I said in an earlier post, the "@tomtom.com" folder is not required to get GPSFix & MapShare updates.

You are right. Great Idea. How about setting it up and posting the location.

I'm in the process of saving this setup so I can clean the drive and try your suggestion. I'm going to leave my map folders, Loquendo and the ttsystem file on the unit but delete everything else.

I had always been able to get the gpsfix and mapshare through home but until today couldn't operate the device. Should I leave the @tomtom.com folders as they are?

Yes, leave your maps folders. I would clean everything else out and start completely fresh. The .cab download has everything in it. If after you have put a clean Navcore in your 910 & updated the ttsystem file with the one you have, it doesn't function properly, then go here:

http://fs05n3.sendspace.com/dl/d42636ac9814a0159e0a12392e36fb4a/495d2420234ed1dc/ebnnpl/navcore_8.204.9718.rar (http://fs05n3.sendspace.com/dl/d42636ac9814a0159e0a12392e36fb4a/495d2420234ed1dc/ebnnpl/navcore_8.204.9718.rar)

Download & unzip the .rar. Inside are 2 more .rars. Unzip the "SE_ttsystem.8204.9718.x20.x30.910.rar" and use the ttsystem file in it.

Once you 910 is running as it should, you will need to use the 8.204.9718@tomtom.com (8.204.9718@tomtom.com) folder in TTHOME.

what is this *.DLC file? I don't suppose that the ttsystem patch file I'm suppose to replace the original ttsystem file with? it seemed easy when i have some easyusetools package and downloaded map, but when the tools don't work then it gets a little frustrating.

In the map folder you have downloaded will be two files called PNA and META.
First open the PNA file with Notepad and read what it says.
It may not be the map PirateBay describes it as being.
Assuming it is correct and the meta.txt you have been given is correct too, look in the folder called PROGS in EasyUseTools and find the meta list text. ADD your meta to the list anywhere. Leave everything where it is i.e. don't move any folders of the EasyUseTools about.
Copy the two files mentioned previously PNA and META fron MAP folder into the folder called "insert meta from MAP here."
Click on Run me for DCT Choose Option 1 then Option 1 again. If the meta you got from Piratebay is correct a .dct file will be made which will have patched the map. You need to copy that .dct file into the map folder.
Now you just need to replace the ttsystem file with the one from the link I gave you and the Navcore will be cracked.

The link you gave him for the ttsystem file is a .dlc. He is asking what a .dlc file is. I'll let you explain it to him.

DLC files are encrypted links. To make use of them you require a program which will decrypt them and download the information or data from the linked site.
Cryptload from : http://cryptload.info/download/
or
jDownloader from: http://jdownloader.org/download/index#download

I also couldn't be bothered to download the map myself to see exactly what it is or isn't. He already has it so I was making sure he knew how to use EasyUseTools.

This seems to have worked :D with only 2 small inconsistencies. In home, when I operate my device the screen identifies it as a tt520. I haven't tried to change anything on my device thru home yet so I don't know if this makes any difference. Also, when I try to d/l mapshare updates, home gives me an error message saying that my app isn't correct for my device. However, I think I can still d/l updates - I'll have to wait until there are some new ones as I think I'm up to date on them. I can close home and my device continues to work normally.

As long as these 2 things don't cause problems, I can live with them. Thanks for your help tendriver.-

I did have other @tomtom.com folders in extensions. I removed them, ran home and had the same result. I also tried the ttsystem file you suggested; no change. Home still thinks my device is a 520. When the device is on the home screen the bar on the right indicates "demo". Also, the car icon I set on the device isn't visible on the screen. All this is minor stuff but it does show that my set up isn't 100% correct.

"Demo" is just a result of the @tomtom.com folder. No problem. Indicating that your device is a 520 is no problem either. Your "car icon" will be a blue arrow in TTHOME, again no problem.

What maps are on your device?

Two US maps (the NA map has IQ routes and lane guidance; the US-Can map doesn't but may be slightly more up to date)

NA 815.2019
US_Canada 815.2022

and a UK_ROI map 815.2003 which also has IQ routes and lane guidance.

1. The US_Canada 815 is basically a "watered down" NA 815 for devices with little memory. As such, I would cut & paste it somewhere on your puter.

2. In the root of your 910, there is a folder named maps. Inside there is/are .tlv file/files. Tell me what .tlv file/files are in there.

No "maps" folder on my 910. The only tlv file I could find was in folder "voices". It must have downloaded from home yesterday when I selected one of the voices offered to me. I picked one just to see what would happen.

The file is data119.tlv

No "maps" folder on my 910. The only tlv file I could find was in folder "voices". It must have downloaded from home yesterday when I selected one of the voices offered to me. I picked one just to see what would happen.

The file is data119.tlv

RATS!!! IF you had out of date map .tlv files, that would have caused your wrong app prob. For now, I am out of altitude, airspeed & ideas!!!

Now you just need to replace the ttsystem file with the one from the link I gave you and the Navcore will be cracked.

i tried what you said, it didn't work. i don't know where exactly went wrong, its either the *.dct file, ttsystem file, or the map is just faulty. The .dct doesn't work in the insert_meta_from_map_here, so when I run the runmefordct program directly to the TT a *.dct file appears in the TT drive. any other advice? perhap a link to newest map that you know works? easyusetools? or ttsystem crack? thank you for your time

These are the latest TT radars (cameras) 30th Dec. If you look inside you will see e.g.

Radar_ES_TomTom (Spain)
Radar_FR_TomTom (France)
Flitspaal_NL_TomTom (Netherlands)
Safety_Cam_UK_TomTom (UK)
etc.

There isn't one for Turkey so, no it won't work in Turkey.

Hi All,

Found this information can anyone confirm this is correct?

v815 maps differences :

maps 815.2003 : high level maps with ALG , IQ v2 , ASR , fully detailed (rivers, buildings in certain cities, ...)
maps 815.2023 : lite maps with ALG , IQ v1 , ASR , but less details
maps 815.2024 : basic maps , no ALG , no IQ , no ASR , but less details

ASR : Automatic Speech Recognition
ALG : Advanced Lane Guidance
IQ : IQ routes

Does anyone a complete list of what each map version (ASR, ALG & IQ)?

Hi all,

I have a original tomtom go700 and I have tried to update it using the advice available on this forum.

I have downloaded and installed the 815.2003_Eastern_Europe maps and the Western_and_Central_Europe_815.2096 I upgraded the firmware to the cracked navcore_8.010.9369.gox30.cab which I read was compatible with my device but no longer an upgradable option from tomtom.

I have used the keygen on the meta pna and dct files and reinstalled them back in the maps folder, I also ensured my maps were listed in the meta txt files and that the maps are in then tom tom root dir and I cant get the thing to work.

When I start the tomtom the western euro map has the error :"you cannot use this map on this device" .

The eastern euro map is not visable on the tomtom or the simulation however when i choose show contents of my go on tomtom home both maps are there.

Any advice on both issues would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

You obviously didn't replace the Navcore 8.010 ttsystem file. What you need to know is on this thread. You just have to look. Here is a link to the archives for this thread. It is only 6 pages, instead of 90, so your hunt will be easier.

Most posters don't read the previous posts. They just wade in and ask for solutions for problems that have been explained regularly. Then they tell you what you advised was wrong or didn't work. Same thing by inference.
Curiously, when they do get it working they don't tell you how they managed. ;)

THANKS FOR THE REPLIES,

I have tried the info in these threads , I think my problem is similar to the one tendriver had.

I have now installed another version of navcore that was on this thread from BuMobiles. Go_One_8.10.rar I also swapped the map to Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_815_2034 and used the keygen to get a new dct but no joy, i still get the red screen for the western euro map and no info for the eastern euro map.

I have both maps in the root dir with no spaces in the names:
Should I see the names in the currently used maps file or in the ttgo bif file

Do I need to change any other files in the root dir, I have tried it with the original ttgo.bif which made no difference,

Any ideas???

Hiya folks,

My first post here, stubbled across to this site I've been at afterdawn for a while with massive database of product information's and modding but strange no info on TomTom gps modding? I manage to find this website so far it looks impressive and helpful people around.

Here's my Spec: I currently have Tomtom 920

Western And Central Europe Maps:
Verion: 710.1576.1576

I believe to find out which firmware I have 'you have to go to TomTom HOME > HELP Then System information scrolled down to device and it says Emulator version 8.300.9732.1 in short 8.300

I've downloaded Maps 815.2003_Western_and_Central_Europe Rar files from the links provided on this website My question is on Tomtom HOME it has two options two buy one is 815.2003_Western_and_Central_Europe OR 815.2003_Western_and_Central_Europe-"2GB"<--What does that stand for?

2nd, How do you install the downloaded Maps not the legit ones? Is there any guide for installing etc?

I would appreciate any guidance that you may have. I really need to update my maps. Thank you

The above are the kinds of questions that you will get help on.

1. Your 920 will always boot/load from the Internal Memory. So the only things that you can put on a SD card are maps, music, pix, etc.
2. To use a map that you didn't buy, you must adjust your Navcore/firmware for that map to work.

No need to post in French, English will do just fine.
You have the correct meta.txt, if your map is a France 8.15.2003 version. If you don't have the original ttsystem file for your Navcore, tell me what Model TomTom & which Navcore you have, and I can tell you where to get it.

Ok before i start the upgrade operation, If I buy NEW SD Card 8GB Class 6 SDHC 'Can I upload the relevant Maps etc on that instead of touching the original Internal Maps and firmware?
Will my Tomtom 920 load from SD Card if it's inserted instead of using the Internal Flash memory?
I will back up my current state of 920 tomtom to Hard disk before playing around with it.

You will require a bootloader which is capable of using an 8GB SDHC card see here:http://www.2shared.com/file/4582178/554b7d0f/Bootloaders.html

I know its a drag to repeat and help everyone individually, but a Guide to updating the Maps and firmware would the ideal thing to explain - concise and simple. BUT For now folks it's the hard way, read 6 pages as the experts saying containing ONLY 200+ posts per page. NICE thanks:rolleyes:

Regarding that link you've provided and the recent Tomtom Map update floating around on the net TomTom.Maps.of.Western.and.Central.Europe.Full.v8. 15.2096.Retail would you recommend this over 8.15.2003 for TomTom 920?

:)

No, use W&CE 8.15.2003

Create a new folder on your desktop. Copy the files and folders on your 920 into it. Then you don't have to worry about messing up. You can restore it back with no problem.

Why? What are the characteristics of Western.and.Central.Europe v8. 15.2096 that make W&CE 8.15.2003 better?

Why? Because, just as you said, .2003 type maps, ie lowest numbered, are always more comprehensive/complete. .2096 is 1.16 GB & .2003 is 1.9+GB

Same can be said of UKROI 815.2003 and 815.2024. I just downloaded 2024 and it's about 2/3 the size of 2003. I'm not going to bother loading it onto my unit.

My TomTom 910 is running Navcore 8.300.9732, after fully removing the previous files & reformatting it.
Its running quite a few 815.2003 maps all perfectly well, including all the bluetooth stuff, except I haven't checked the RC yet.
TT Home also all works too.
My question is ... which is the latest version of Navcore that runs on the 910 and includes all the latest icons etc. ?

Navcore 8.204 has the new style icons. It is meant for the x40 series so is in fact later than 8.300.

When you say your ttsystem has been "transformed" do you mean you have replaced it with a cracked/patched ttsystem? You need to do this in order to use pirated maps.
How are you trying to crack the map? Use the keygen from post #2 of this thread.

If you want an original ttsystem file for your 910, go here:

I remembered what you said about US_Canada 815.2022 and have deleted it from my 910 but I wanted to confirm that UKROI 2024 was a watered-down 2003, which apparently it is. Do you know why there is no North America 815.2003 map. The numbering of these maps doesn't make sense to me.

I'm always looking for the latest map since the areas I drive are constantly being expanded with new roads. I was driving around Raleigh NC a few months ago with a 8.10 map and after following the guidance carefully I wound up on a new 4-lane highway; TT said I was in the middle of a field and kept telling me to turn onto roads I had no access to. Last month with the 8.15 map, the same thing happened.

It is my understanding that, NA 8.15.2019 actually is NA 8.15.2003. I have seen it take a couple of new map updates before a new road shows up.

@ cricriback
Open your France map.
Find the files called META and PNA
Copy these two files into the folder called "insert_meta_from_Map_here".
Write your Device ID into the text file called Device ID: like e.g. AC4GWEY7NF. ( all upper case, no spaces, 10 figures in total)
Click on "RunMeforDCT."
A DCT file will be created in the folder "insert_meta_from_Map_here".
Copy the DCT file into your France map folder.
The map is now cracked/patched.
You now need a cracked Navcore as the keygen will NOT patch it.
Without a cracked Navcore your device will not see and be able to run your cracked map.
Alternatively, use the "yDGpatch" prog. I posted around xmas to patch your official ttsystem.
Finally, Click on the button "Merci" :D I'm done.

If you have nc 7.903 (latest official version) it is compatible with 8.xxx maps. I have go910 with map western and central europe 8.15.2003. I have put the nc 8.204.xxx to my go910 and it's working very well. You should try this too...it's worth it ;). You get all nice stuff with nc 8.204.xxx. Only remote control won't work, but you can fix it just buying a new one. But remember to make full backup for your go910 if something goes wrong.

You need 7.910(9185) for that map (or any 8.15 map) to work on your Diamond. You also need to use the tt8_keygen to generate the .dct file.

Hi mate, firstly you don't need to look through all 94 pages to get what you want, You Can only get traffic reports through a Subscription or if you buy a RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver. Latest Speed Camera's can be found here: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4009220&postcount=1190 Make sure to show your appreciation and click on the thanks button. Which Navcore Version & Map Version does you TomTom have at the moment so then we can advise you which Map you can go for, The best Latest Western Europe Map which is V815.2003 and can be found here: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4021428&postcount=1311 again click the Thanks button, but depending on your Navcore you may not be able to install this and to install this map you will need to upgrade your Navcore.

Hope this helps,

No worries, right with the speed camera's you have to use Easy Tools Keygen which can be found on Page 1 of this thread and then you get all the camera files and from your map file you will find a Youy_Map.meta and a Your_Map.pna file NOT THE .meta.dct file. also copy these two files and when you download the easytools, put them in the insert_meta_from_map folder and then run the program which says RunMeForDCT and follow the options correctly then once done your camera files will be cracked to your map then copy all the map files, do not copy the 2 map files and paste the camera files back into your map file on your Tomtom or Card, wherever your map is.

Software 8.010 (9369/080529) OS:190943
32 Mb RAM (free 3.3 Mb)
GPS v1.21 Boot 5.3026
Western_Europe_1Gb v710.1561
Language:Finnish
Verbatim Pro Series 16GB Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC), Class 6
PC: Vista-32 bit SP1 English

2. I have updated TomTom as far as possible using TT Home 2.5 online
and then backed up TOMTOM.

3. Additionally I have downloaded and extracted following software to PC:
Easyusetools_14thDEC
new_8300_11302008
ASR.zip
SE_ttsystem.8300.9732.rev.1.3.3
Navcore.8.300.9732_tomtom.com
navcore_SE_8.300.9732_basicpack
8300.dlc
WE-2024.part1-3 (maps)

4. I have following needs in order of priority:

4.1 Update ttsystem somehow, as Patcher does not work with Navcore 8.010.

Q1: Should 8-300-9732-1.dll copied C:\demonfatal\new\
Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck_ttsystempatcher\
or ttsystem_Patcher in it ?

4.2 Get latest Western Europe map v2024...2096 into operation.
No need to IQ Routes or Lane Guidance, but nice features to have later.
Q2: Use TTKeygen8 for what ?

4.3 Get larger SDHC 16Gb memory supported, for adding Eastern Europe etc. maps.
Q3: Should I update Navcore to 8.3, crack TT home 2.5 somehow,
then moving all data from internal memory to SDHC ?
Q4: Is new Bootloader needed ?

4.4 Win main prize in Euromillions lottery and then use my TOMTOM for a real road trip, for Gumball rally ! :)

WOAH, THE JOYS OF HELPING HEY!!! Anybody who wants to help this person go ahead, lol.

Read the above few posts, it may help a little bit. I would advise from the start just to now Install NC 8.204 because later on you willl probably most likely install that anyway so just install that now and then you can install all your maps on the new NC which allows most of the maps anyways.

PS. With the Navcore 8204, you get 2 versions, One for 540-740's and one which is for 940, i would strongly recommend in installing the 940 version as the other version is not too great some people have found.

Quick tip:
V6 Firmware = V6 Maps
V7 Firmware = V6/7 Maps
V8 Firmware = V6/7/8 Maps

It must have been a few birthdays ago because it is way out of date.

Get yourself a new SD card of at least 1GB , preferably 2GB as the one you have is probably only around 243mb.
Download and install Home. Allow it to update your Navcore to 7.903
Download and install any of the 815.xxxx maps which will work with that Navcore
see: http://3dc.supervegeta.free.fr/compt.jpg for that.
Download the yDGpatch prog. I posted Here: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4000520&postcount=1113 to patch the Navcore and Home .dll with this.
Download the latest EasyUseTools Keygen with up to date Meta.txt from Here: http://www.2shared.com/file/4591329/736aebec/Easyusetools_for_Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck_ttsyste mpatcher3rd_Jan.html
Patch your map with this.

Once you have all this working you can then start thinking about more upgrades.

Hi there!

A would like to use the newest "Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_815_2034" map on my TomTom ONE XL device. I have the newest firmware installed on it. A ran the "TomTom KeyGen v2.4 (v6-7-8).part1.rar". I don't know whether I used it properly or not?
How should I use this crack program properly?

When I copied the "ttsystem" file in the "ttsystem_Patcher" folder and ran the "RunMe.bat" then it wrote: acces denied. After it created a "ttsystem_old" file, and nothing else happens. I dont think, that it is OK!

I wrote my device ID in the "DeviceID.txt", of course, and copied all the map files in the "insert_meta_from_Map_here" folder as well, and ran the "RunMeforDCT.cmd" and the "RunMeforMetaKey.cmd"!
It has a "RunMeforAllAutomatic.cmd", but it didn't work.

There is an other folder is this "TomTom KeyGen v2.4 (v6-7-8).part1.rar". It is the "Progs" folder, and it contains "keygen6.exe, tt8_keygen.exe, tt8_mapcheck.exe", etc... And there is a "meta.txt". What should I do with it? Should I copy the map files in this folder, an run the tt8_keygen.exe or whaT????

Pls help!

There are many folders. you chose the one to match the Nav you use in your device.
>Rename it to system to enable it but take care.
I am lost here. What file and folder ?
The system file goes in root i.e. not inside any folder. When you download the Nav you will see it inside that folder.
Updating the system file( bootloader) is a one way street. You CANNOT go back to an earlier version. It can be fatal for your device.
Make sure your device is fully charged and boots OK before starting this!
Boot the device up.
DO NOT STOP OR HALT THE BOOT UP PROCESS IN ANY WAY UNTIL THE BOOT UP IS COMPLETED. !!!!!!!
This upgrade of bootloader CANNOT BE REVERSED IN ANY WAY.
If it goes wrong you can potentially brick your device.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
It is done many times by many people perfectly safely but there is always room for SOD's LAW to rear it's ugly head.

@Ondodo@

I just read what you are trying to do, Basically you do not even need to use the Map Patcher Software, Copy the ".meta" and ".pna" and the "notepad meta" files from your Map folder and paste those three files into the keygen folder called "In_Case_of_Emergency". then press the "runme" icon and follow the steps, If you have the latest NC then press 1 and then it should ask you to enter Your Device Code so enter that as it is and press Enter and your done. You should notice that in the "In_Case_of_Emergency" folder you now have a new file which ends with ".meta.dct", copy this file into your Map folder on your device and your map should now work on your device.

Slow. Just 150 KB/s at claimed 1024 line. I am using Wireless Flash OFDM modem at 450 MHz which allow me to compute even when I drive a car at 50 km/h or sit in a ship cruising in a big lake. We have thousands of lakes in Finland.

Seems like I have to wait 90 minutes for all files
so I may have to continue tomorrow. Only 12 hours at the helm today.

BTW NC stands for NavCore (your App.)

For those having difficulty with cracking a map.

Start your TomTom. Touch on the clock usually bottom left. now touch on the word, "version"
Look for the device id. It will be something like AD4RT 2EHY4
Copy that down somewhere as you will need it later.
Make sure you write it all uppercase and omit the space like AD4RT2EHY4 (10 figures in all)
Take a note of the App you have installed (next line down) if that is the App you will be using e.g. App 7.903 etc.
.................................................. .................................................. .....
First get WinRAR and install it.

Depending on how large a map it is, it may have anywhere from 2 to 18 or more parts. If you place ALL the parts of your map into one folder, right click on any single part and select from the menu "Extract files", WinRAR will unRAR them all and join them all up into one folder.

Now get latest EasyUseTools as it will contain the latest codes (meta.txts) required to patch the map.
If it is zipped or RARed then UnRAR it as above.
Open it up but LEAVE IT EXACTLY LIKE IT IS! Don't go moving any folders or files about.
You will see a folder named, "Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck_ttsystempatcher"
Open it.
You will see a folder named, "insert_meta_from_Map_here".
Open it.
Once you have done that, open your MAP folder and look for two files named META and PNA.
Copy and paste them into the folder named, "insert_meta_from_Map_here".
Look for a text file named, "Device ID" and write into it the 10 figure device id you got at the beginning into it. (all uppercase and omit the space) NOW JUST LEAVE IT WHERE IT IS!
Click on the icon ( Windows NT Command Script ) "RunMeforDCT"
Read the prompts and press the number for the proper choice of the App (Navcore) you are using.
Usually 1.
Read the prompts and press the number for the proper choice .
1. again
A file named .DCT will be made in the "insert_meta_from_Map_here". folder.
Copy that .DCT file into your map folder and the map is now patched ( for YOUR) device.

Note. Pirated maps ( ones you have not bought for your device ) WILL NOT run unless your App (NAVCORE) is cracked.

EasyUseTools will NOT patch your later version App (NAVCORE) i.e. the ones you would want to use for the 815.xxxx maps.

You will need to download an already cracked Navcore from this forum . DO A SEARCH!

1) NC means Navcore, which in your terms you have NC V8.010.

2) You can get your Device Code when you switch you tomtom on and click on the bottom right and click on the little tab which saya 8.010, a screen will come up which has your Device Code, or You can also find it In TT Home under Help>System Information.

3) You should still be able to get updates from TT Home.

So I start from a empty SD with bootloader installed then.

No, you copy the system file to the root of your device or the WORKING SD card you use at present. Your device must boot well before you think about replacing the system file. Only when you are happy that your device starts without problem do you place the system file in the root of your device or card.
Once you have done this, start up your device. you will get the message to wait. DO NOT SWITCH OFF OR INTERUPT THE UPGRADE PROCESS!!! It may take a few minutes.
It will replace permanently the already installed bootloader of your device.

is there something that i can do to fix the VR?

I would recommend If you don't mind installing the new X40 Navcore Version 8.204.9718 and the 940 version of this new NC, This should get rid of your VR problem and you also get a new Graphical Interface with Voice Recognition Commands.

No worries, It is actually a newer version than the 8.300 & the 8.320 Navcore, This NC are for the X40 Series Tomtoms, just the number is less but it is actually newer. Install the new link i gave you and you can find the patched ttsystem file here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/ebnnpl (http://www.sendspace.com/file/ebnnpl). This Version Navcore will let you install pretty much every map.

1) Create a Backup, then erase everything off your TomTom.

2) Copy over all the new Navcore contents.

3) From the patched files folder called "SE_ttsystem.8204.9718.x20.x30.910" copy the "ttsystem file" and over-right it with the one on your TomTom.

4) Add your Map (UK) and patch it to your TomTom.

thanks for the reply...

what do you like to know??? basically, when i go to select the VR in the menu, and it's grayed out...meaning that you cant select it...

from what i have read in the posts in this thread, i must have the "cspeech_GBR.dat" and "cspeech_IRL.dat" files in the map folder...which i do and have a "support_asr.dat"file in the "ASR" folder...againg, i do (with the value 1 in it).

im just doing a back-up as "msubedar" suggested...is there an easy fix for this before i start messing around with the TT again???

Have you got a Computer Voice? The compute voice is situated into a folder called LoquendoTTS in the root of your tomtom, if you do not have a computer voice and just a normal one then VR will not work.

Mo.

If this is the case then go into TT HOME and try to add a computer Voice and your problem should be solved.

PS, If Your LoquendoTTS Folder is not very large in terms of size e.g. Less than 10MB then that most likely means that you don't have a computer voice, a normal computer voice (Text-To-Speech) is around 40MB.

NO NEED to erase everything off your 920. If you elect to go the Navcore 8.204 route, just copy the 8.204 files & folders into you device, along with the downloaded ttsystem file.

As for doing a "backup", it is easier to create a new folder & copy your device contents into it.

Are you also copying the text (notepad) "meta" file with the other 2 files?

Use the search option to find the ttsystem for your NC + If you are trying to patch a map that isn't yours on a normal ttsystem file then it will not work anyway because to use the new map you need a patched ttsystem file.

Does the One XL even see the map on the SD card? I think it can only boot up from the SD card, not just read maps from it.

check post #1203
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=586405&page=81

Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_815_2034 will work with 8.011.

you'll need,
navcore_SE_8.010.9369
SE_ttsystem.8.011.9373.go510-710-910

install both onto the SD card. Also add the "voices" folder if you want

Also, you don't need to put all the files in "insert_meta_from_Map_here", just the PNA and meta files. Make sure the meta.txt in progs folder has your map included.

Good luck

@rytenuff
OK, again. :)
I downoloaded the easyusetool and the 8010+8011.dlc named file.

I put the ".pna" and the ".meta" files in the "insert_meta_from_Map_here" folder. After it I hit RunMeForDCT.cmd. Then I choosed the option #1 twice. Then It DOESN'T create any newer files in the "insert_meta_from_Map_here", it leaves them alone (so it doesnt create a "meta.dct" or sg like that) . So I copied back on my device this 2 files, and overwrote the original ones. After I switched my device on. It say: "You dont have permission to use this map on this device." (I'm hungarian so a translated this way).

As far as I know it should have made a "meta.dct" file after this ^ method, but it DOESNT! Do I have incorrect map????

So back to the ttsystem file (this is the so called NAVCORE file, isn't it?)

I downloaded the 8010+8011[1].dlc.zip. It contains the "8010+8011.dlc" file. What is this? What should I do with this file?

try using the "easyusetool" that i used. i've uploaded it to rapidshare. so that you can download it "HERE (http://rapidshare.com/files/180664851/Easyusetools_for_Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck_ttsyste mpatcher.rar)".

copy and paste the .meta and .pne files from your TT to the "insert_meta_from_Map_here" folder and try again.

Another news: I caught the screen that is after I hit runmefordct.cmd... I push #1 twice, then it says : ### Run fake meta.txt check ### Access denied

have a look in your map folder, see if you have the meta.txt file in there. if you do, open it and have a look to see if it corresponds with map version you have.

it should look something like this:
; United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_815_2003
95 F1 51 94 11 88 C5 54 DA 32 CE 7A 80 04 89 DB United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-19.meta

also check to see if the meta (just like above) in the "meta.txt" file found in the "progs" folder of easyusetool. if it's not, copy and paste the txt to the meta.txt file and save the .txt file and try again.

I have the correct meta code in the meta.txt (I suppose).

I have exactly this written in meta.txt in the "progs" folder ; Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_815_2034
CC 93 89 28 2D 2D 95 78 D7 CA DA B9 76 6F A6 B1 Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB-22.meta

I have an other suspicion: I have NOD32 Smart Security and COMODO firewall installed. Does it affect the progress of this "easyusetools" ?

Open with notepad the file in your map called PNA ( the one you copied into insert_meta_from_Map_here)
It will have an ID telling you which map it is. If you have the correct map , the correct meta.txt for it in Progs folder and you have written your TomTom device ID properly in Capital letters without a space like ABCDE12345 and copied the META and PNA files FROM YOUR MAP into the insert_meta_from_Map_here folder, you WILL get a DCT file.

BTW. You are doing all this on your PC, NOT your TomTom right?
