I would love a simple explanation on how to do it and if possible how to get TTS working on Garmin as well. This is on a non garmin PND.

Hi all,

Who would like me to create a howto to install locked Garmin maps and how to unlock them using gmaptool and Jetmouse's k3yg3n? (Dedicated to the newbies who have the balls to tell the world to get screwed).

Once it's done, I'll happily mail to whoever wants it

1. Install MapSource
2. Install Maps - in c:\garmin
3. Use attached unlocker - just extract and run bat file
4. Using MapSource transfer maps to device
5. Be happy!

Hi all,

It's done. I have compiled both howto's for installing GMXT on a Symbian S60 3rd ed. smartphone and unlocking Garmin mapsets for use with GMXT. Both are in PDF format and I am willing to mail the files to those interested in wanting them. All I ask is that these files are distributed free of charge and if anyone wishes to translate them, that they feel free to do so.

what does the .bat do?

i opened it in notepad and some foreign fonts are in there...

Please can anyone tell me how I can unlock my Mio C510e.
It appears to be stuck on an address I used recently. I have tried resetting it ( soft and hard) but still returns to the same map.

''Gecata'',i folowed your instructions with the garmin unlocker..It worked on my pc,when i open mapsource,i can see the details and all that(i couldnt before),but can't transfer the map to my garmin nuvi 265...there isn't any map to transfer(i get that sort of message when i click upload to device)..what am i doing wrong?

sorted!!!
managed to transfer them to the device...BUT...new problem...it finds all the streets allright,but when i try to navigate,it says''unable to calculate route''..thats happening for all the streets that werent allready there(i have nuvi 265 europe nt 2009)...any ideeas?:confused:
