Newbie needs HELP!!

I have just downloaded various new maps for my Tomtom one all with the prefix 810, 815 etc, but I cannot get them to work, I have had no problems before using maps with the 7 prefix i.e 715, 720 etc. I have previously used easyusetools to get the maps to work but I cannot get the new ones to! all I get is no map on the TT display. I am currently using navigator 7.1 and have been ob Tomtoms website and updated to the latest 7.9 but this does not help either. What am I doing wrong, any help greatly appreciated.

I am now presuming its because I have not got a Navigator version 8 or above, could someone tell me why Tomtom home says I'm upto date when updating with version 7.9? and where I can then download a leter version?

Thanks for the reply, I have been on that thread but can't find an answer to me only being able to update my software to version 7.9 on tomtom website.

Could someone please point me to a working link so that I can get hold of a v8 firmwear for my TT one please, I have read through the posts on v8 software and maps but cant find an active link.
