I guess I'm not as clever as I thought any assistance would be greatly appreciated

I've been using my 910 for a couple of years now with patched version 7.2 maps, however this morning TomTom home updated me to navcore 7.9 and the maps stopped working

I read through various threads and assumed that by updating to a patched version of Navcore 8.3 I would be fine. I downloaded the patched version and replaced myttsystem on the TomTom with the one from inside the zip file and nothing . I guess in reality the process wasn't that simple

Now my computer won't recognise the 910 and the TomTom is simply stuck on the initial login screen (in my case a custom folder). I've tried a reset but to no avail

Can anyone please help as it looks like I've dropped a huge clanger and I've now got no way of connecting to the TomTom

Cheers Fred :o

Just as an update - I've managed to get the computer to recognise TomTom but the unit itself no longer functions as a Sat Nav system it just locks at the front screen - Can anyone point me in the right direction for a 7.9 unpatched ttsytem file to replace the updated ttsystem file on my Tom Tom. At least from that point I'll have a functioning Tom Tom albeit with no maps

Cheers
Fred

I would have thought rolling back (updating to an older software version) to the last known working version number would restore your device. if your device is legal, contact tomtom about it. If its less than a year old, take it back and play dumb to get it replaced.

look on the threads called "tomtom v7 maps and software" and "tomtom v8 maps and software"

these threads contain all the info needed to make your tomtom work again.

you need to look for a patched version of the firmware 7.900 ;)
