cant get and GPS lock on my sony Ericsson X1

I have trawled through all this forum and google and managed to get tomtom 7 working on my phone :) which is exactly what i need.

now i have the following installed and seems to be working;

TomTom Navigator 7.450 (9028)
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_v720.1802 (maps)

now tomtom boots, voice seems to work, i copied all my POI across and setup all the configuration settings.

i then select "internal GPS" in the GPS settings, and it doesnt get a lock just says "No GPS device!) on main screen, i try to plan a route and it just trys to get GPS signal for over an hour and just carries on.

any ideas???
