I guess IMEI changing in DCT-4 requires surgery. Too Bad!! I think it's illegal because only stolen phones needs an IMEI change. Actually I support BphCo's effort not to develop IMEI changing software. At some point in time this thing has to stop.

I totally disagree with u my friend , IMEI changing is not only based on Stolen fones . it can be for :
1 : If someone lost his phone and found and some particular provider refuses to unblock the IMEI .
2 : If someone took a phone from some1 else cause he owed him money , and as a revenge the other guy would lock it for him .
3 : If the shop mixes 2 boxes of the same phone and 1 of them gets lost , the guy would report the serial number of his box stolen , and it wouldnt be the one ! so uwould have bought a new phone with guarantee and it will get locked ! .
I've saw all these cases happen , so i dont think that IMEI changing is for stolen phones . thats why i believe in changing it . u cannot just throw away a phone if its yours
goodluck with ur work:D :p :D

@mp3hot ... lol .. really ? get real stop trying to justify it! If you lost and found your handsets and not claimed insurance, network WILL put it back on! option 2 if they turn the phone off , go back and say to them you know who they are. Boxes being mixed up ... thats staff errors, bre more careful... you need to take some responsibility.

lol who are you trying to convince????
u might aswell have said
imei changing should not b illigal because
1. if u did a insurance claim your 'lost' phone wont work on any network.
2. if u beat up someone or nicked a phone of some one it would b useless cause he/she could report it lost.
3. if the shop assistances were high and pissed and think it might be funny to open phone boxes(for no reason) and swap the phones around and then u buy the phone and wont b able to use it.
thats the biggest pile of crap i have heard.
nab is right, all those situations are easily fixed without changing imei.
you think some one would steal a phone or stab someone for their phone if they knew that the phone was useless???
so imei changing is giving people reason to do things like that.
Sorry never meant to get too serious just tryin to prove a point.

u not making sense my friend ! OK , say if by mistake the Phone company swapped the boxes with another new one , and u got mobile phone IMEI #69 (example) and the box is IMEI #70 , ANd then the next client comes and buys the same type of phone with mobile phone IMEI #70 and box IMEI #69 . And after the other client looses his phone and blocks the IMEI , he would think that his serial number was #69 and YOUR phone will get blocked . AND U really think that I am going to waste i dont know how much time of my life telling the Network provider that my phone isnt stolen ? well i can just simply change the IMEI and avoid loads of Hassel ? .
And no#2 there was a case in England that T-Mobile refused to unblock the IMEI although it was his phone . If u dont Belive ill post link and show u facts .
These are facts , things that happened ! im not saying that IMEI changing shouldnt be illegal but in some cases its good that it exists , and it can never be stopped .

ok lets say your right about them points (id love to see the link as i am very intrested) but how often would this happen?????
enough times to give reason to create a way for theives to make a living on selling stolen phones???
i dnt think so. or maybe u disagree.
i know its impossible to stop i was just giving my view y it should not b available.
