I canīt get it to work :(. It just says scanning and nothing happens. I checked and i could access the phone, so thats not the problem. I got FW 10. Anyone got any ideas why i canīt get it to work ?

Can it be my original siemens datacable that is the problem ?

I donīt know if the original datacble don't work with this program, but could be. I have a c45 datacable modified by me, burt not the original and the java activator works well.

Damn, i hope that itīs not the cable. What firmware do you got ?

Dester

I have the v14, but the people of the spanish forum have v10 and the java activator works well

Ok, then itīs probably the cable, does anyone know whats the difference between the "ordinary" cable (like i got) and the cable that enables flashing ?

The enabler doesn't work with my original Siemens C55 cable either (FW 10).

To change the C45 cable into a C55 cable you should:

[quote]
Just take the C45 cable and change this connections:
Pin 1 to 2
Pin 5 to 3
Pin 6 to 4
[end quote]

Somewhere on http://www.club-siemens.net/forum/ there's a more compleet pin-layout. What I remeber is that:
pin 1: power/charge
pin 2:ground/zero
pin 3: tx or rx
pin 4: rx or tx

Hopes this helps, good luck!

mbis

Found the compleet story about the modification of the C45 cable:

The pinout of the C55 is this:
Pin1 = Auto_Ignition
Pin2 = GND (mass) (Pin1 in c45 cable)
Pin3 = DATA Out = (Pin5 in c45 cable)
Pin4 = DATA in = (Pin6 in c45 cable)
Pin5 =? (Pull down = 112K)
Pin6 =? (Pull down = 112K)
Pin7 =? (Pull down = 112K)
Pin8 =? (Pull UP)
Pin9 =? (Pull UP)
Pin10 =? (Pull UP)
Pin11 = Ext. Micro GND
Pin12 = Ext. Micro input

(I just ordered a C45 cable)

IT WORKS!

I changed the com port to port 1 and the java unlocker works with the original cable.

Iīve tried all, the only thing that i donīt rely get is the part about pushing the red button (powerbutton ?). Tried it again and it just says scanning :(. Can you describe exactly how you did it, and do you use port 1 for all aplications (i use com port 2 for all aplications)

I first tried many times using my phone on com2 (modem is on com1). I even tried to put paper in between my connector and the phone in order to emulate a C45 modified cable :)
Then I switched my phone into com1 which was not in use and started the Russian program again. My phone was off and as soon as the program started I pushed the red (on/off) button on the phone a very short time (not as long as to switch the phone on). The Russian program responded and within a second or two it claimed it had worked.

I then reinstalled the data exchange software of Siemens in order to get in on COM1 and it worked. I get a Explorer like interface and I can read and write data in and to my phone. I just uploaded some large midi's and it all works.

Thinking about the whole procedure it might be the little paper that helped. I am really not sure about that because the first time I tried to unlock, my phone was on com2 and it didn't work well. Just after switching to com1 it all seems to work.

The littel paper I wrapped around my whole connector except for pin 2,3 and 4. In order to compare: your charger uses pin 1 and 2.
The connector won't fit completely but with some care you'll manage to get in nside the phone.

I hope you'll manage 'cause it is very cool!

Let us know if you succeed and if the paper does the trick.

From the Spanish forum at:

you could find some messages. One containing the link to the Java unlocker:

OK, but thats M50 enabler...

Is the enabler same 4 M50 & C55?

do I need unlocker 2? as with activating java on Mx50? Or phone will not be "dead" lke Mx50 did?

btw> I'm looking 4 data conector or data cable, don't U know where 2 buy? (international support needed, coz I'm in Czech Republic

Dester

Great1 is a new m50 enabler that works with c55, and doesn't need the unlocker because your phone will not be dead

mbis
12-13-2002, 20:18
Hi, Dester is right: it just works. Run the program and you're ready.

As for the cable I don't know any international web company. I got my cable for euro 15 from a dutch webcity and as far as I can see they do not sell international.

I have original datacable for my C55 and i can't unlocking phone: what have i to do?
My OS is Win2000; it works fine?

mbis
12-16-2002, 12:47
It may sound strange but you can cut a piece of paper or plastic and wrap it around your connector except for pin 2, 3 and 4. Tehn gently put the connector in you phone. You won't need to put it in the whole way.

If only pin 2,3 and 4 are connected, you'll have an emulated modified c45 cable.

Be careful and first check if your connection are working well before patching it.

colostro
12-16-2002, 13:22
did you unlock with an original datacable? your os?

mbis
12-16-2002, 13:54
I did unlock it with the original serial Siemens data cable. My OS is Win98, firmware on Siemens is 1.0.

At first it didn't work. Aftre switching to com1 and performing the paper-trick it worked. I don't know if the paper or the switch to com1 did the trick.

Can you explain to me how you did cover pins on original datacable?
Thanks

mbis
12-16-2002, 21:23
I *did* manage to get the Java unlocker doing it's work with my original Siemens serial data cable.

I found out that the modified cable only uses pin 2,3 and 4 of the cable. The pin numbering is from right to left as you keep the connector in front of you with the connectors up.

Now you need a little paper or plastic. It must be a bit strong in order to prevent 'breaking' when you put the connector in the phone. You cut the paper or plastic in a piece of appr. 7 mm X 20 mm. You wrap the paper/plastic around the connector and cover all pins except 2,3 and 4. The most difficult part is to put the connector with the paper/plastic in the phone. Don't try to put the whole connector in the phone otherwise the paper will shift or break. When it is in place, test your connection with 25@once (or any other). Switch the phone off. Start the Java activator. And shortly press the red button. The program takes about a second to compleet. Remove your paper or plastic and have fun.

And I used com1....don't know if that is absolutly neccessary...

And let me know if you need more info....

Let us know if you succeed.

p.s. maybe you can use tape as well?

I can't understand if there is a very little possibility to unlock C55 with original datacable.
If not, i'd buy a new not-original datacable only for the unlocker?

Great_One
12-18-2002, 13:58
If U have original datacable, than U really sould cover pins except 2,3,4 and it have to work... try some soft (e.g. Sx35Explorer ... to test data conection, I don't know why but I couldn't connect to phone and after X35Expl. I can)

and really it have to work with covered pins, thes is only GND (p2), dataIn/Out (p3,4), no other pins needed...

When i cover pins excepet 2,3 and 4, all softwares that i prove (s25@once, mobilemaster, vissie) does't work fine.
Is it possible? I don't know what i can do anymore

Great_One
12-18-2002, 16:13
If U have C55 cable... than only thing why it doesn't work is (2 things:)
1) There is some problem with the phone (bad connector)
2) You have unaccessible com1, or there is some fault
3) Cable doesn't work (hw. problem)
4) U cover bad pins. (p1 is at left, when U take connector like u put it to the phone)

... I thing U sould try run DOS based SWUPINST, it will show you if your phone is connected (no windows crap)

colostro
12-20-2002, 09:30
And then,
when i cover all pins except 1, 2, 3 and 4, SWUPINST (or other softwares) works fine with my phone, but if i cover pin 1 too, my C55 is not detected.
WHY?

pin I is power +, used 4 charging, I'm absolutely sure that this pin is not needed 4 flashing (&other data transfers)...
When U want 2 cover pin 1 and leave 2,3,4 uncovered, R U sure U do so? I wanna say, pins are really small, It's possible U covered pin 2 (Ground) too.
On the other hand, when U leave all 4 pins uncovered (1,2,3,4 - when oter soft is working) ... Isn't Activator working too? I have all 1-4 pins uncovered and data works. (I'm using cable as charger simultaneously).

At the end. Do you know that:
1) with locked java, Siemens data exchange is not working at all. Bcoz whole memory is locked, not only java.
2) When Activating Java with Skyloft enabler U have to
a) shut down the phone (I always put out sim card).
b) Plug connector,
c) run Java Enabler
d) press Red button 4 1/2 sec. or so.
e) when done, unplug and enjoy! It have to work!!!

I've got some problems with my original Siemens data-cable on my C55.
According to swupinst I can only connect to my phone with pins 1-7(!) uncovered.

So when trying the Java Unlock, the program says "scanning", but nothing happens when pushing the red button.

With only pins 2,3,4 uncovered nothings happens either, and swupinst can't find the phone.

I don't think that the cable is bad, because firmware-update (to version 14) worked well.

So, anyone out there got any hints how to java unlock my phone?

colostro
12-27-2002, 18:57

Is it best to get USB cable or RS232 cable to connect to C55?
The local shop is going to order both (unoriginal I think), so which should I choose?

How can I activate java transfer via cable, it seems a lot of people have problems.. are they using original cable?

Yes, me. I tried many times at last it worked on COM1 and not on COM2. Don't know if it has to do with the serial port.

I covered the pins except for 2,3 and 4. Maybe pin 1 or 5 was not covered 'cause it a bit difficult to cover excatly the right pins.

Hmmm... as my Mainboard has only ONE Serial Port, this can't be the problem ;)

Does swupinst or any other program find you phone when you have covered pins 2,3,4 ?

And is it really an original Siemens data cable?

Could it be a Win XP problem?

Strange... I tried modifying my original c55 cable by covering all pins except 2, 3, and 4, and VisSie wouldn't recognize it... Tinkering with "coverings", I found that when covering pin no 7 (from right to left) the phone wasn't recognized... I tried running the Java unlocker with pins 2, 3, 4 and 7 uncovered (the phone *was* recognized), but with no success.
I am running WinXP; maybe this is the problem.
