Hi, I got an idea, because "flashing f480 topic is a mess", I therefore want to make your choice between different firmwares of F480 tocco easier. Try to post here informations about the firmwares you have, the more specific the better! Wht format should it be? Each post

Additional info: Camera is slightly faster but image quality is not good at all (greatly reduced from the previous firmware I had), at least not on the phone screen. The menus are very stylish, you can choose either black or white. A few new ringtones and the hugo boss wallpapers. Other than that nothing new really. Possibly a slight improvement in sound.

Additional Info:

Much more faster at responses and the Birthday Widget works, loads more Widgets for simple things such as Messages, Alarms, Calculator etc. which makes it faster to get on to useful stuff. The camera is still quite poor however (Best if not Zoomed in). Menus come in either black or white (and the black menu does not have a white border unlike the Orange branded firmware when going from menu to widgets, or vice versa) Default ringtones are included and original Samsung wallpapers (flowers etc.) I think the scrolling is slower but the speed can be altered depending which side of the screen you use (Left side = Fast , Middle = Normal, Right Side = Slow)

Anyway, if you are upgrading from the Orange firmware (like I have) it will be much better (just a loss of the Orange wallpapers however)

what the user didn't like

polish diacritic symbols in polish t9 [makes text messages much longer due to diff coding]
what you cannot change in menu>msg>settings>sms>send settings> symbols - no such menu entry
so you cannot change from normal font to gsm alphabet

the menus aren't clear enough

Nope, just 3 different styles, first is the normal style, another looks a bit like scribbled writing, and the third is sort of like handwriting.

As far as I know, it's just a bugfix update. Which bug? I don't know. But according to Handy-FAQ, it brings no new functions nor widgets.

the latest pink edition. cant remember what it is called. just use F480XEIB1 if you want the absolute latest version. more widgets etc. Its what I have in the UK and it works fine.

you will have to have a read through the forum and search for the firmware you want. i just use the non branded versions myself, have no idea what the tim version is you are after. there is a fair amount on here...
