How to make S45 to S45i 100%

Instruction How Make Siemens S45 to S45i
(ME45 to ME45i)

Need progams :
Siemens Sensor Tool v1.1
Siemens S45/ME45 Tools v1.2
Modify flash from ME45_040305 or S45 (bin file 6MB)
All files are aviable on :

www.mobil-server.wz.cz in section ME45 to ME45i


Step by step :
Backup battery settings
1. Connect off phone on cable
2. Run Siemens Sensor Tools v1.1
- shortly press red button on phone (on displey is Test Mode)
3. After reading baterry datas - click on Write file (battery.blk on disk)
4. Remove battery out from phone and insert battery back to phone
Backup flash from phone
5. Run Siemens S45/ME45 Tools v1.2
Configuration - Model : S45
- Port number : COM1
- Baud rate : 115200 (if won´t be corecttly reading flash from phone
is necessary lower speed - may not error messages
6. Siemens S45/ME45 Tools v1.2
Read flash - Addr:000000
- Size:600000
Read from flash - shortly press red button on phone
Start reading flash from phone (it is long time process)
After reading flash from phone click on Write to file (backup.bin on disk size 6MB)
7. Remove battery out from phone and insert battery back to phone
Backup EEPROM from phone
8. Read flash - Addr:1F0000
- Size:010000
9. Read from flash - shortly press red button on phone
Start reading flash (EEPROM) from phone
After reading flash from phone click on Write to file (eeprom.bin on disk size 65kB)
10. Remove battery out from phone and insert battery back to phone
11. Write flash - Addr:000000
- Size:600000
Read from file, choose file : flash_0403_me_i.bin
Write to flash - shortly press red button on phone
Start writing flash to phone
12. After writing flash to phone,remove battery out from phone on small time
and insert battery back to phone
Phone is not On ,or see Wrong Software (but it is OK)
13. Siemens S45/ME45 Tools v1.2
- IMEI choose Read phone - shortly press red button on phone

If program reading IMEI from phone, rewrite IMEI from label on phone under battery
and click on Unlock

If program not reading IMEI (phone with Wrong Software) :
Run Siemens logger 4.03 - Logger - S45 - Read Phone
If you program question on IMEI,write original IMEI from phone label
Save log
Run Siemens S45/ME45 Tools v1.2
- IMEI - Read log - choose log from logger 4.03 - click on Unlock
- shortly press red button on phone
Phone is repair without Wrong Software
14. Run Siemens Sensor Tools v1.1
- shortly press red button on phone (on displey is Test Mode)
- Read file - choose file with backup battery datas : battery.blk
- Write phone - it repair batttery setting for phone

New functions on S45i :
- Email client for 5 post account (POP3,SMTP . . .)
- New game Race Ace
- Faster synchronization contacs and calendar
- Unlock keyboard is easy,we no need confirm
- Listing all amount lose calling for one number
- Function Hands Free is working too in dictafon
- Many optional functions for "Hot keys"
- Memory Flex is possible erasing at once (formatting)

In my opinion i dont know if exist a 100% solution, but i have tried many times and "solutions" the best work for 3 weeks and i start to have problems to turn on the phone. Eprom problems i think. If someone have that solution......

What kind of problem exactly?

People, just use my Siemens EEPROM tool and you'll have no problems anymore. The most universal upgrade method is:
1) Upgrade with WinSwup to S45i_v4
2) Patch bytes needed. I.e. on www.o45m.ru there are already fixed parts to upload to the phone $290000-$2DFFFF for S45&Me45.
3) Upload block 68 (as i remember...) from original S45i EEPROM. The phone will work with all operators.
4) If you have ME45 CE20 phone - fix contrast.

And nothing more! I've upgraded many phone's that way! It's simple! If the phone is upgradable - it will be upgraded. ;-)

Hi

I followed all the steps and after I flashed my me45 I pushed the power button and all I got was a low pitch groan. I then flashed my backup back and now my phone works fine again. Does anyone know why i might have this problem. Can you make all me45's me45i's or are there certain me45's that can't be upgraded?

Yes I did unlock the phone and I changed the imei number back to the original and I still get the problem. Can you think of anything else?

There are some ME45s (especially new - with CE20 flash and etc.) that can't be upgraded anyway. I have no solution for this 'couse i have no such phone in my hands to work with. ;-)
Try to update your phone with WinSwup s45iv4 and do not do more things - sometimes it works.

Or it uses a different method for mapping the phone?

No, the mapping method is the same... I don't know why it can't be upgraded. Some CE20 phones upgrades well and some - not.

I tried WinSwup s45iv4 and no go. The phone is pretty new. Can I check if I have a CE20 flash without opening the phone? (maybe through the service menu)

and I have downloaded lite68.zip as well, but I don't know what to do with it, I cannot read Russian and Babel Fish 's translation really sucks, can any one explain to me

I've tried to flash back the backup original firmware but still suffer the problem
Also after i try to unlock it

I also tried to flash back the original firmware with UniSiemens Pro
Still the problem not solved

You have flash C489, so SM45tools can't write first 2 MBs... This is very old problem and it already has it's solution... Look at the Net.

@gambit66 : Didn't work for me either (same problem). Try this:

Used SM45Tools1.2 & s45iActivator

1. backup original flash (000000, 600000)
1a. backup t9 (080000, 30000)
1b. backup address book (quik sync)
1c. backup phone memory (vissie)

2.winswup (s45i_040101.exe)

3.apply patches (s45iactivator.exe)

4a. flash t9 (080000,30000)
4b. restore addresses (xtnd connect)
4c. restore phone memory (vissie)

Found this great program (s45iactivator) which applied all the patches 4 me, real easy and no need to get the hexeditor out :)

I tried using a Hex Editor but when I tried using the modified .bin file to flash back to the phone, the SMEtools cannot read the file. It reports a header error something. In short, I was not able to flash the modified file back to my phone. I will try this activator software next. I hope it works this time... Thanks guys

I tryed to make s45 to s45i, with box2k2 method, but the phone will be very insable.
If I step menu, the phone says "brzzz" and switch off.
Why???
Somebody can I help me?
