Pocket GPS UK Speed Cameras

Hi

I was hoping to get Pocket GPS UK Speed cameras, these havent been uploaded to the site for a long time? Have they stopped these cameras?

I dont want the tom tom cameras i specifially want the Pocget GPS Cameras, because they split it into different categories ie gatso, red light etc etc

Does anyone have these? my last ones were Aug 2007, which is a while ago

you probably wont get these again without paying for them yourself.

I subscribed to pocketgps for a years worth of camera updates but they say they can trace every download back to the member who downloaded it so other members are probably like not bothering to share in case we get caught and banned.

i dont think how they can chase this, when you receive your updates you can do what you want with them as your paying for them.

I think they are trying to scare their members by saying they will be traced...

Very easily: they just need to adjust a couple of POIs by a very few meters for each user and voilà. Doesn't requires a lot of effort or programming skills and is absolutely effective without having any side effect on the usability.

Kind of a weired perception you have: You don't buy the POIs. You pay for a service. And - btw - I think it's a necessary fairness to buy whatever POIs or maps you use. It's a lot of work to put some meaningful POI-list or map together and IMO whoever undertakes such an effort deserves a recompense for it.
If all ppl would have your attitude there wouldn't be a lot of maps or POIs available.

I agree with you .i just got to the point where i couldnt find any "FREE" downloads and figured, hey its only £19 for 1 year which if it stops me getting any tickets and fines is money well worth being spent.

they say in their terms and conditions when you sign up that these are for your own use and cannot be resold and that if they find them on a torrent site of free download you will be banned and your membership cancelled.

This you agree to when you sign up.

My advice-
either use the free ones in the tomtom 8 maps thread or go subscribe and pay pocketgps like i did.

For this release we have had a total of 53 submitters adding/modifying 358 static and mobile cameras across the various camera databases.


The ZONED cameras are split up into different camera groups - Gatso, Mobile, Redlight, Specs & Temp - and then these groups are split up again into the various different speed limits - 20mph, 30, 40, 50, 60 & 70 - except for the Redlight cameras.

The CONSOLIDATED cameras are just split up into the different camera groups Gatso, Mobile, Redlight, Specs & Temp - so just one file for each group.

The SINGLE cameras has only one file which covers all of the cameras.

Just be careful people, these camera's have been changed from the original 21st jan 2009 set.

maybe to find out who and where these camera's are going to, then they will ban the members in relation to this :mad:

i stated that these might have been tampered with;
this way pocketgps can tell who and when the files belong too ?

Since the release of the copy you have there has been over 700 static and mobile speed cameras added/removed/modified across the various speed camera databases. I think you will be better paying your money to POCKETGPSWORLD.COM and getting an up to date database.
