Hi

I would like to have mapping software on my computer,

so it will work like mapquest , and I can use it without a GPS reciever,

there are many times where someone is trying to tell me where a shop is located , if I have a "Mapquest" I can get directions , show them to the person I am talking to and see if its correct ,

the laptop screen is so much bigger then the GPS

Any idea how to do it , cheap or free ?

I have TomToms and can get a Garmin to get the maps

Laptop is running XP home

thanks Beaulieu

Get yourself Garmin MapSource and the maps you need. Look here (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4202053&postcount=616)

If I understood you correctly, you just want to view maps on your laptop but you do not intend to use the laptop for navigation. Right?
In this case you need only MapSource and the maps. Garmin Mobile PC is for navigation.

ps: Sorry I missed your post and because of that I didn't replied earlier.
