I could not find a way to transfer multiple address and phone records from Palm to my ME45.
Even if a set of records is correctly transferred from the Palm and received by the phone, pressing the "save" button only one record is stored.

This means either I do not know how to cope with the procedure or the phone can accept and store only one record (full address ) at a time.

So transferring and updating the address book is very slow and requires much manual activity.

Is there please a way to overcome this problem, procedure or software patch?

The ME45 accepts only three telephone numbers: home, office and fax.
In case of two office phones, for instance, only one of them is considered and the other is lost.
Only if in the Palm you rename "home" one of the two office phones it is possible to avoid the loss, but some difficulties come up.
Same problems in case of two fax numbers, or in case of unmentioned cellulars, pagers, .....

Are some patches available to expand the limit of three telephones devices and/or modify the name of the different ones?

Thanks for any help

so many tricks to do this.. (for question - 1 -)

1. hot-sync your Palm with MS Outlook, then synch your MS Outlook with ME45 using Siemens QuickSync.

2. Use PalmDesktop, then export your address book into *.vcf file. after that, import *.vcf into ME45 using VisSie.

Thanks for your answer, lavdate

Your solution N.1 is the one I did not like, requiring the installation of three software packages (MS Outlook, QuickSync for Siemens ME45 and the one for Palm) and two serial cables:
my Fujitsu-Siemens has no IR device and its Com2 requires the extension from a connector on the mother board, with a flat cable different from the ones easily available for the commercial compatible PC's.

I like instead the solution N.2 with VisSie, program I did not know before but already downloaded (unfortunately its help file is only in german).
I will test it after my Com2 cable problem will be solved.

There is a point you should kindly clarify : how to export the address book from the Palm Sync program.
Standard formats are: *.aba ; *.csv, ; *.txt and *.tab.
Modifying .aba in .vcf at save time the file obtained is empty.
If the file has to be renamed: what suffix has to be used to export it, first?

Excuse the long message and regards
