Have Nokia 8390. A member provided unlock codes a few weeks ago and I tried, at the time, 4 attempts but no luck. I was warded about the 5th time but told that getting the phone flashed would reset the counter.
I sent phone to Nokia to get firmware upgrade (from 7.00 to 7.80) and I just tried the 7th code again upon receiving the newly flashed devive. The phone came back with 'Cannot Undo Restriction'. What does that mean? Is the phone now locked beyond repair? Is it (hopefully) unlocked?
I searched the thousands of posts on this forum in vain. I see others asking the same question but trying to find a response is like looking for a needle in a hay stack.
Can anyone offer some intelligent response?
Why is it that some users have success at first try, but many (all?) 8390 owners seem to fail? Maybe this process is not valid for the 8390? Is there anyone who has unlocked an 8390 on the Microcell network here in Canada?
