text prediction and dictionary-based disambiguation

Hi all,

I am doing a project to help blind people to be able to send sms messages.
I would like to use text prediction and dictionary-based disambiguation like the one used by t9 and others like Motorola.
Their is a new form of text entry created by www.eatoni.com.
Anyone can help me to find information about the used algorithms, dictionaries and an implemention in c or java?
The project is for Portuguese users so the dictionary must be Portuguese, but anything, even in English would help.

What algos you need ? I have T9 v1 database format and algo in C - mail me if you need it
