Hi,

I have a problema with my equipment. When i try to start my GPS Software (Route 66/ Garmin/ nokia maps) i have no signal. I tried to use the software in long trips but the problem remains. In the configuration set i only have internal gps selected like the instructions discribed in this forum. Is this an antenna failure caused by a malfunction?

Regards

Dear Forum,

I have a N95 but unfortunately can not receive the GPS signal... no signal. I have tried some of the common suggestions - like slide out the top part and than move to an open area, switch off and turn, etc. but so far no luck. Please could you suggest some alternatives.

Regards,

Try out this. Look for View -> Satellite Info. Do you see the satellite status bars (hollow or filled in)? (If they are filled-in, then you are all good.) If not, go back. Move with the cursor. Press GPS pos. Leave it on for one minute or two. If you don't get a fix, restart Maps. You should get it just abouts straight away the second time.

Try this;

Press Menu
Select Settings
Select Personalise
Select GPS Data (or something to do with GPS, been about 3 years since i've used n95)
Tick Assisted GPS
untick Network GPS, Bluetooth GPS

Try connecting your device upto wifi and loading nokia maps.
Once the gps data as received the current locations then it will be faster for the next time you try and locate the gps position
