I recently unlocked the phone and decided to upgrade the firmware to r7 . the phone now does not start at all.
I can read codes fine and can reset gdfs fine too. I try and upload the firmware and having loaded it it says ERROR: 350E . I try installing the modem same thing . the only things that work are code read and reset gdfs :(. what has happened ??
what can I do ? Is it something wrong with terminator??
Please help as my phone won't start !!!

I have cleaned the contacts on the phone . I have checked the files that the phone takes and downloaded 3 copies from different sources - they were exactly the same . I only manage to read codes , write gdfs , erase gdfs . My parallel port has been set to EPP - and terminator didn't work at all with div 6.2 crk . on ECP it does the above. when I try to write the main AVR file ,in every case, it reads the file from the hdd , it starts writing the file to the phone and stops at 1% , 2% or max 3% - giving me error 350E. what is wrong??:confused:

Hi,

I have seen same isseu/error on some SE.
Things to do so you can overcome it:
a)Try to switch computer (if you have the option).
b)Definitely set the parallel port to ECP mode (not EPP!)
c)The power supply of your teminator/Div dongle (eg from the USB) is not good enough! This is why you getting 350E. You
could attach a 5 to 5.5 Volts REGULATED power supply. I was in EPP and was getting similar error. I connected separately power supply to dongle and set to port to ECP. Now all are fine.

I has this problem.

My soluthion : Port must be ECP and power supply is ~3,4V (I set RED LED series USB power). I set resistor ~10K on 6 pin of PIC, but as for me it's not need.

BEst regards

HOW DID YOU CONNECT EXT POWER

I use USB power:

+USB -> +LED -> 2 schema

Hi,

Terminator donle is powering one from pins 22(plus) and 5+9(minus) from the side that phone cable is connected. So basically the USB plus/minus is connected to 22 and 9. Just desolve the USB connector cable from LTP connector and build a small regulated circuit inside the LPT port plastic enclosure.
As for how much PIC needs 4.5 Volts to 5 at least for to function properly! Not 3.4 Volts! It is way too low!

@VasiliuS

Mate,
I dont know what dongle you have. I have one with PIC16F876/20 MHz. Check out characteristics for this on
http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/2906.pdf
PIC doesnt work correctly with 3.4 volts. Needs at least 4V and the 20 MhZ needs 5 Volts.

Ok,
I spoke to a mate of mine who is an electrical engineer and he suggested I get a 1N5407 diode and put that in so as to bring the voltage down from 5 to 4.5v . he also told me not to use any usb hubs .
@sysop104 I have done points a) and b) and am dealing with c) as my diode supplier is waiting for them to come in on wednesday .

now - silly question. Once I have "stabilized" the usb power and am able to flash my phone , will I experience any problems if I try to use terminator on other phones - in other threads people were mentioning different issues??
thanksfor all your input guys . I'll inform you once resolved as my t68i is there dead :(

ciao

Hi,
In my opinion you do not need to put 1Nxxxx to low down the voltage of the dongle. Is your dongle works with PIC16F876/20? Then the 5Volts should be fine. Problem is, in my humble opinion, that sometimes USB is not giving enough mA.
I do not know why I cannt attach my dongle's schematic in this post so you see. Strangely I cannt find the "browse" button as I am writining this. My dongle has "power supply" based on the regulator 78L05. I use also one 1N4148 in the entrance of the power and another one in the exit. Exactly same schematic as SamsungFlashUnlock box by Abe. I builded this inside the pastic case where the male LTP (phone cable+USB) connects to the dongle. And I just connect a 9V power supply. From then and on
I have flashed 3 T68i with no problems at all!
