samsung i900 - charger socket broken

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my samsung omnia i900. the phone charges through usb, but not through mains wall charger. It also plays only one audio channel through the heaphones.

the socket is broken and needs resoldering and/or replacing. What can I do? I do not have much soldering experience but I would like to try. Thanks for any advice

fixed it!

I took it apart and found this :

as you can see pins 5 and 20 are ****ed. some good fellow over at modaco posted which pins do what.

1- FM_RADIO_ANT
2- GND
3
4-
5- EAROUT_R
6- EAR_COM
7- EAROUT_L
11- TXD_tvout
12- RXD
13,14 - V_dc
15-
16- USB +
17- USB -
18- USB_dc
19,20 - Vext_5V

well that totaly explained why it wasnt charging by mains charger and no sound was coming out of my right earpiece! BUT my phone would charge by USB computer connection.

I found a good soldering guide at SparkFun Electronics

I bought myself some solder wick and a magnifying glass with stand. First attempt i successfully fixed pin 20 but 5 was more difficult. I put a bridge of solder on 5 6 and 7 (not necessarily intended!) and removed excess with solder wick. The magnifying glass was very useful!!! I thought pin 1 was also not connected very well because radio reception was poor so i touched that up aswell. Now i have perfect radio reception - and I gotta say i'm pretty damn pleased with myself
