Old D900i slider does not activate phone

Hi,

I've been cleaning an old D900i the owner loves too much to upgrade. It got wet and would not boot up so I took the thing apart to dry (used various online guides and I'm reasonably handy with electronics).

Put the thing back together and it all worked with the exception that it cannot detect that the slider is open. From the outset, it behaves like the phone is closed but unlocked. Particularly, if I try to activate the camera, it pops up a dialogue box saying to open the slider.

I've taken it apart again and for the life of me, I cannot work out how it detects whether the phone is open or not - I can't see any kind of switch or detector.

Could someone point me in the right direction? I've got an old D900 (not the D900i) that I could scavenge from, but I don't want to take that apart if I'm not sure I won't be able to fix the D900i with it's bits.
