Hi all,<br />I am new here and i have read alot of info here and elsewhere about flashing nokia phones but i have a question and i hope someone here can help me.

I am just about to get a 3210 that keeps getting contact service message, Apparently this does not happen all the time.<br />I do not know the IMEI number or the SW version but reading through the posts here i can get the version by using the trick of reading address 00200000 to oo20a000.

What i would like to know is:<br />Do i need to do a full or partial flash to try to repair the phone?

If its a full flash does this overwrite the IMEI number and if so how can i reset it back to the original?

Is their any tricks to discover the IMEI number on a phone with the contact service message?

Is it possible to upgrade phone SW versions?

I dont nave a back up file from this phone as it is not mine. But i feel this is a good way to learn something new. <br />By reading lots, asking some kind folks on a BB and doing it.<br />I hope someone can answer these questions for me and as i learn more i intend to return the favours.

SAME PROB FOR ME

if the phone FIRST says INSERT SIM,and then it turns off,back on,and then it says CONTACT SERVICE,that means that this is a softwqare problem.....to see imei and sw version you need nokia tool and mbus cable.........<br />when u read sw version mail me,dont mess with anything before you do that.......

one more thing....no ,u cannot change imei,because full flash is from 200000 to 400000,but that is only mcu with ppm pack..imei is in eeprom,and eeprom is divided from flash in older nokia's...not emulčated like in 3310 and in newer nokia's.....read that info(that i wrote in previous pst) from phone and mail me,,,,,,,,
