I did this and it is unlocked but whenever i power of the phone and power it back on . It says wrong card again !!!

Thats OK after the # sign it should reboot and hope you dont have the same problem like me !!

Yes, worked right away. I entered the code as *2767*3855# the phone reset and came back up as Cingular which is the provider I use. Phone has worked fine since.

Only thing that got me was the missing # key . It is very clear that when you power off it will revert to original provider.
