Ok,
Initially i had a dead V3i no power-nothing.
So i used Smart Clip with testpoint and Did:
1) Repair PDS (R479) <- my v3i version
2) Full Flash R479 from support
3) Unlock handset.

Now the handset powers up with startup tone but the keypads do not light up or the screen
When i insert the charger the phone makes charge tone and small green charge light is on.
When i connect to PC via usb i have all functions with s/w. So i know s/w is good!
Only problem now is, display and lights.
Could it be the Flexi Cable?

possible, i had a similar problem where i had to reflash the phone again and it work, try flex first

I actually flashed it twice.
1st time i flashed it it was in this state so thought i id flash it again but it didnt make any difference.
What i have noticed tho' is that the PC recognises the V3i but when i run RSD Lite 2.7 it states Bootloader as N/A

Some-one must no the solution to this. Im not giving up! Ive been struggling with this phone for a week!! and now im getting somewhere... theres light at the end of the tunnel.... just need to get to it!!

i have exactly same problem and i have chang flex and lcd from working phone but cant get lcd + light if any body have solution pls help me
