S8300 Camera works only upto 640x480, un supported format for higher resolution help - GSM-Forum

I bought just one month used never locked/ un branded Samsung S8300 Tocco in perfect condition.
while plugging it to USB the phone rebooted. I removed and after a while reconnected its exactly same happend.
Some how after successful installation of PC suite reconnected and there was n't any problem with connectivity.
But I was horrified to find that the camera was't working beyond 640x480 Pixels. Video is fine at highest quality 720x480@30FPS,
Checked with Samsung they are telling some camera board needed replacement at almost the cost of mobile. Set got with FTA SW VERSION: S8300.005, Firmware Version S8300ADID1(UK version).

Now got this set flased to FTA SW VERSION: S8300.005 Firmware S8300DDIE1(Indian version) through Samsung but still this problem is persistent.

All other functions are perfect including GPS, Net, Browser etc,, But not happy with photo viewer too though working fine.

Can Any one be Helpful?? Help requested please help me....

Actually there is a charger plug difference, before managing to get a suitable adaptor I wanted to charge it ..so connected to USB and all above happened. how could you managed to get out of this mess?? do I really need to change the camera PCB???

PRM:two characters...manufacturer(51:Samsung Electro-Mechanics; 0B: Samsung Techwin; 06: Samsung)
two following characters:Fw version.

HW:Last Fw

I got the Camera Firmware update menu through *#36287#
[1] Phone to CAM firmware write
[2] CAM firmware version check
[3] Phone firmware version check
[4] camera tuning mode
in 2 i got >>CamFW(0b.08)PRM(0b.29)AF(1b)
>Bin FW(0b.08)PRM(0b.29)AF(1b)

The following Bin files I have earlier installed with FirmwareDownloader__GT_S8300_V002
CE14XF03_STW--697Kb, CE14XF03_SEM--687Kb, CE14XF02_STW--1Kb, CE14XF02_SEM--1kb,, CE14XF01--15Kb, CE14XF00--1Kb

But result is same no change..Then I got the Camera Firmware changed through update menu through *#36287#
[1] Phone to CAM firmware write
in built phone FW again written to above BIN files but appearently there is no change to the status of camera.
Still unable to get the higher resolution images as "unsupported" though I can't see the image the size and date and transfer are possible. In the PC also these images are saying the same as "Unsupported format"

Any further help in this ?? Desperately waiting for help..

The program ran properly at me!
The camera fw-t too change...all right oké.....BUT THE PROBLEM REMAINED!

The flash and the camera fw two different things!!
Vainly place other sw onto the telephone the camera fw does not change!

Yes you are right for that reason before this I got the camera firm ware also changed to latest indian version DDIE1 compatible done by Samsung it self no change.

DDAD1 to DDIE1 or DDDB1 or XXIg3 there has been no change in the camera resolution. "Un supportd" Thats what appears when image size goes over 640x480 pixels.

Any help please???

you are right originally my set came with DDAD1 UK version.

I got it changed to DDIE1 (through samsung)Indian version
