LCD cost Apple vs. Samsung. Why$$$$$ - GSM-Forum

Hello Friends,

I am doing this business more than 10 years. I always wonder.

Why is Apple LCD so cheap and Samsung LCD so expensive? For example now iPhone 6 LCD maybe $23USD but Samsung S6 LCD still cost $120.

They say $23 iPhone 6 LCD is a copy. I don't think so. It must be leak from factory. If some factory has the technology to make LCD they can make millions with Samsung Edge LCD. S6 Edge Plus even if they can sell this LCD copy $100 they would sell millions of them.

So why always LCD for Apple so cheap and Samsung so expensive?

Now this business is terrible. Nice Samsung S6 Edge perfect can sell it $350. I see it with broken screen $100 and don't buy it.

APPLE uses IPS TECHNOLOGY, very easy to produce and cheap
whereas sasmsung uses AMOLED, VERY EXPENSIVE

Thank you very much chubbie for clarifying this for me. It just breaks my heart that there is no economically feasible way to remove the glass on these edge models.

-Organic LCD supply is limited as compared to demand
-Production costs for organic LCD are typically higher because of greater labour inputs per unit
-costs are higher because of relatively small quantities volumes

Haha. It's organic so it is more expensive because it is better because it is organic =)

Here is an article about Chinese workers getting sick from polishing iPhone 7 housings with n-hexane. N-hexane is 100% organic. Just like methanol, acetone, trichloroethylene, benzene, etc.. Maybe I can buy the cheap tomatoes and wash in N-hexane to make more organic =)
