Can't Flash ASUS ZenPad Z380KL (MSM8929) in EDL 9008 Mode[REPLIED]

Attempting to flash/unbrick ASUS Zenpad 8 Z380KL MSM8929 Snapdragon 415 using UAT 6 02

In Qualcomm tab using manual flasher tablet is detected in EDL mode port 9008 COM4

Using MSM 8929_Asus internal loader, flashing aboot_8929 mbn from 5 9 4 firmware to aboot partition fails

Turn Off phone, hold Vol UP Vol DOWN and insert USB cable

Searching device
Device Found
Phone on Port COM4

The Internal you are trying is not Compatible with your Device .. better use Custom loader and use loader from Device firmware.

Device firmware does not contain files such as

patch0 xml
rawprogram0 xml
MPRG8929 mbn

If I had these files I would just use QFIL/QPST and not require UAT

These are the files in firmware-update folder after unzip firmware

NON-HLOS-ER2_8929 bin

I am trying to flash the Z380KL in Qualcomm EDL mode. The product description states that the MSM8929_ASUS chipset is supported in EDL mode. There is only one ASUS device that uses the MSM8929 chipset: Z380KL.

From the 1.01 release notes:

Most of Worlds Qualcomm CPUs Supported.

I have been informed that "the programmers are working on it" but refusal to provide max time line. I don't know what to think of that - maybe when my license expires? I purchased this $50 USD license to flash this tablet in EDL mode. Can I get more support please?

he as I have always said nothing is wrong with flasher your firmware does not contain loader inside *MPRG8929 mbn* that's why the program won't start flashing

I hope you can understand where I am coming from. I read the v1.01 release notes from UAT and found what I interpreted as support for the Asus Z380KL (MSM8929 chipset) in Qualcomm EDL mode (9008).

This is the reason why I purchased the license. I have a bricked device I am trying to repair. I am asking you, Team UAT to help me repair this device given the fact that I have paid $50 USD for a license.

I don't think it is fair to brush me aside and come up with excuses why there is no ability to flash this device when the release notes say it is supported. Please find a solution. Do the right thing for your customers.

The loader which you are looking for this device is exactly added as Internal Loader in UAT.




If your device Flashing gets failure in UAT .. you can Test the same in QFil , So that you will be satisfied that it is your device issue not a Tool issue.
