How to Completely Disable Face ID on iPhone X

Step #1. Open Settings app on your device.
Step #2. Now, tap on Face ID & Passcode.
Step #3. Next, you need to tap on Use Face ID.
Step #4. Then, disable iPhone Unlock.

How to temporarily disable Face ID on iPhone X
1. Press and hold the Side button and either one of the volume buttons simultaneously.
2. Tap Cancel if you're looking to unlock your phone or just tap the Side button to turn off the display.
3. Enter your password the next time you want to unlock your iPhone X. Face ID should resume its normal function at that time.
