Stolen IPhone 5 Help

Hi, i recently was given an IPhone 5 as a gift, it was brand new and sealed, when it was stolen.

the phone was brand new and sealed. so was never activated by me.

However, after checking the serial on apple website, it appears to have become active.

i have reported the the theft to the police and have been given a crime reference number.

now i want to have the phone blacklisted/barred, as i have no experience of doing this i was wondering how can this be done.

i am feeling very distressed over this matter and it would be much appreciated,if someone would suggest how i can have it barred, or what my best options are.

i have all the reciepts for the phone etc.

thanks.

Network provider such as T-Mobile / Voda or whoever you are a customer with should be able to block the IMEI..

Regardless if you are on any of the networks they should be able to put the request in to block the IMEI..

Outside chance that the Apple store could help you as well..

However, anyone with access to the Apple servers should be able to block an IMEI.. They might ask for a copy of the crime report or reference number!

Best of luck..

Hi, many thanks for the reply.

The first thing which i did when it was stolen was report it to the police they gave me a crime reference number.

i have contacted apple and they kept asking me to check ICloud, until i spent numerous attempts explaining the phone was brand new they then asked me to contact the police and were convinced they did not have the power to block the phone.

i really hope a carrier can have this blocked as i have all documentation of to prove proof of purchase.

again much appreciated for the reply.
