www.paypal*****.com

There has been a lot of talk about this site. Many of us dealers need to be "aware" of scams buyers can pull. Vis a versa. Interested in the open discourse on this subject.

Paypal do suck bigtime. I moved from one country to another, updated my profile, and was accused of "account tampering" and my account was closed, no explanations.... case was closed !

Rule number 1.

1. Never click on a link you receive in an e-mail. Go direct using your usual method. (usual a link on your browser or typing in the URL in address bar)

2. Ebay, Paypal, Nochex, Banks, etc will always address you by your names like Dear Homer Simpson and not Hi there! or Dear Customer or Dear User or Dear subscriber (this is always a give away)

3. Most credited sites nowadays have encruption on their sites when logging in or entering sensitive information. So always check for that PADLOCK!

Follow these very simple rules and use some of your own home grown common sense and don't get caught out.

I have some more advise about answering the phone and the front door but that's for another thread and another day!

Thumbs down

Papal in insecure. i lost $1000 because they accepted a fake account. The chargeback took more than 3 months to catch. Very poor service for a company who only processes money.

Paypal *****, always use westernunion

The main thing about Paypal is that the seller can get screwed big tyme. With Western Union the customer doesn't get as much security and it costs them more because of the service charge. Of course we all love Western Union but Paypal has been used by "buyers" to scam on a lot of sellers (me for $400).

As @Number_3 put it, very poor service for a financial institution.
