Which balls and stencils (and other equipment) for reballing/ BGA work? - GSM-Forum

Hi guys!

I want to try BGA soldering, now I'm wondering, what I should buy. I have already a hot-air-station. For the balls; I want Pb alloy, can I just buy the cheapest on eBay? Or should I take care about something? (e.g. eBay1, eBay2).
Which stencils should i buy? I guess something like this would be nice to start with, but unfortunately out of stock..

What else do I need, I have flux and capton? Do I need a preheater for cellphones?
Any general tips for getting started with BGA?

i use bga stencils without direkt heating and its the best choise.

Hello! iF you want to make new balls to GSM BGA cips ,look at this resselleer from ebay ,i just received the new models stencils for IPHONE ,Nokia ,Motorola ,sonyericsson,from this seller.The stencils are maked from good material,good qualitty ,i already tested to resoldder processor DB2030 and supply AB2012 from SONY ERICSSON w880i :Computer Repair GoldPart Store items - Get great deals on items on eBay Stores!

@dioda76: Do you use this stencils with paste or balls? Do you directly heat them? If not, how do you get the stencils of without losing the paste or balls?
