Red face Alcatel One Touch 501 - BE5 124

Hi,
My phone asks me for a 'network code' on start-up.
Is it possible to unlock this phone via a code?
Or do I need a cable?
If I need a cable, is it possible to make one?
Or do I need to buy one?

thanx for your help in advance
-dubble

edit:
it's actually asking for a 'network key'
the original SIM was Telia in Denmark, and I'm trying to use a one2one SIM in England

any ideas on what the network key maybe?

thanx for the link iki
ive found this site: www.weunlockphones.co.uk
which claim to be able to remote unlock the Alcatel BE5, and for only £3

can you or anyone explain the steps involved in using this supposed 'remote unlock code', as i've already used ********'s code calc, to create a code, but just dont know what to do with it,

I think that you beter use program and make cable, because it is the fastest way and also the easyest and you are not paying anyone for codes.Extract this rar files in one folder and use the software inside.the cable can be made easy from the bruce-gsmpinout.rar file.you can use any rs232 9 pin cable for com to make it.
try it and post then

thanx for the files iki,
i used a 9pin cable from an old mouse, it had 4 connections:
GND, RTS, TX and RX
i connected them to me phone:
GND-Pin2, RTS-Pin4, TX-Pin7 and RX-Pin8

but the Robson-GSM program says "Can't connect to phone" when i click 'Connect'

I also tried substituting RTS-Pin4 with a DTR signal, still nothing

Am I missing somethign really obvious here?

dubble as you can see on bruce pinout it says that on pin 4 on phone has to be +5v.make short cut between pin 4 and pin 9(this positive on charger) and try like that.also at robson sw try with cable 2.

thats what im using to connect the wires to the phone
(a modified base-charger bit)

heres the whole thing:

ive tried the shorting pin4 and charge pin, as pictured, how do i use the software?
do i plug it all together, without SIM & with phone off, and then click 'connect'?
or with SIM in, and phone on?

-dubble

ps. using nokia battery as the original one is a bit dead, will buy another one if i can get this thing to work
pps. doesnt the official cable have some sort of electronics inside it, like chips and stuff?is this really going to work
