How do I copy one StarTAC's ROM image to another? - GSM-Forum

I have two CDMA StarTACs. One is malfunctioning, so I need to copy its identity to a replacement. I don't care how this is accomplished, either by changing the ESN of the new one to match the old, or copying the whole ROM image from one to the other. Moving the entire circuit board isn't a solution, because it's the main board that's flaky.

I have a working MiniCHAB that reads the phone. But none of the software I've found will do the job. I have an ESN mapper that is crap; it generates images with bad checksums.

Use a flash ic reader, like labtool.
