Exclamation Treo 800w- which is going to be more mule-headed- it or me (to keep pluggin away)?

1. This Treo 800w is being a bit grumpy about the
MEID # (14 digit hex, 18 dec digits)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile...ment_Identifier
http://www.previo.net/meid-esn-converter.html

2. Perhaps I need something other than
getSPC (can't get a valid # for ##3282#)
or http://www.baf.cc/bafmsl (errors out - yep have MS .net file)

3. ##3282# (hash marks for fellow cell noobs)
doesn't take the getSPC output from the pESN Hex (8 digit),
among the other digits I've tried.

4. Does a hard reset wipe the # of MSL attempts?
Or DOES a Treo 800w lock you out after a # tries?
I haven't hit a complaint/lock out from too many tries via 3282,
I've been very reserved about entering many tries.
You'd thought the prior guy that had done the work'd be nice enough to 0 out the MSL... oh, well! =)

5. I knew buying a project phone all-ready flashed to cricket would be
interesting, but.... wow.
611 & *228 activation both goes to Cricket.
I need to change the programming to my phone # & the PRL (had a friend at a Cricket store change my ESN- this model confused 'em, so it's in my ol' CNE-turned-noob-cell-tech hands)
At least this is more fun than the SMT soldering I did at Cincinnati Microwave 20 yrs ago! (Anybody want a ATM detecting Radar detectorhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif?)
& I won't run outta juice w/ 4 batteries, 2 wall chargers & a battery cradle charger!

6. I decided it might be easier to take a stab at keyboard entries
after a few days of trying to get a PC prg to work on 3 XP-sp3 boxes.
CDMA workshop 2.7 hasn't gotten me anywhere yet,
& the current demo version seems to be way too com-port restricted to be any good.

7. (Is this demo CDMA-W version useful at all for 800w tinkering?)

8. I'm getting random port acquisitions;
felt sweet for a moment when com port 8 lit up & read all the ESN/MEID etc. data
upon UNI_cdma.
Then *poof* connection went away.
The crazy part is ****ing away the drivers & yep, it refinds the HW.
3rd rig & 2of the 3 sees the 800 randomly
(though I've read the phone radio has to be on v/s off for BAF )
Could be the too-fragile USB male end is loose, within the phone,
though the phone is charging via the USB connectionhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif...

9. Darn shame I can't use my PC bluetooth, instead of USB- unless someone has gotten REALLY creative out there?...

10. The 800w CD still eludes me- All the prgs weren't working when I got this beastie;
but the 1st hard-reset restored ALL the apps- MS Excelhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif, etc.
Is there anything of merit on the CD?

11. Does the LED only pop on when it's attached to the PC?

I'm REALLY interested in hearing about
7. (Is this demo CDMA-W version useful at all for 800w tinkering?)

Thanks kindly! http://207.218.242.35/default/images.../2thumbsup.gif

The suggested 888888 instead of all 0's failed; oh well!

I've got CDMA workshop 2.7
& the demo version from their site is port-crippled, but would allow me to modify the EVO settings... If I could get the phone to open up, or use the program =)

Apps in use: (if the 800 would agree to move data properly)
UniCDMA
BitPim
CDMA workshop 2.7
QPST/QXDM

Something's not quite right within this 800w
beyond what I found with the data port- I have to hold the strain relief down a bit & at a small angle for it to recognize the PC data connection
& light the LED as data connection is made.

The MSL's out of reach of getSPC, BAF &
when the LED's lit, which I can get to stay on,
I got 1 brief glimpse via UNI of the internal data. CDMA workshop 2.7 & the new 3 demo, still haven't gotten there.

I can delete the port/modem drivers & they rebuild.
I've used 3 XP sp3 rigs & gotten the same results.

After 4 days of tinkering, I took it to a few flashing shops & got the same conclusion;
esp that BAF/getSPC didn't do the job.
Thye got the ports to build (when I held the cable right)
but no data would move.

Any ideas of what I can do to kick this thing around?
Done enough hard re-sets to sink a boat!

Thanks kindly! =)
