3310 - Reconditioned, Pretty Fcuked

Bought a few reconditioned 3310's from Virgin a couple of months ago, sold one to someone anfd they brought it back with the following problem.. Lost the reciept so cannot take it back..

The phone keeps reseting itself and/or other times it freezes.. Press a few keys and same thing happens - this is too weird, anyone know the problem cos its certainly got me baffled.

NO I have not tried flashing it and I havnt played around with it..

Sounds really funny, but did you check that they brought you back the same phone you sold them (original IMEI v's case etc).

Read software version, and upgrade / Downgrade and them try it, had similar problem with V5.03 soft. downgraded, and everything now hunky dory.

Sounds like a hardware fault, not software.
Check the manufacture date using the *#war0anty# menu and see when it was manufactured, if it is under 15 months old, Nokia should repair it for free, provoding it isn't stolen.

Hi

this is a hardware modification to repair phone freezing and switching off/ re-booting , if phones in warranty i would take phones to local service centre for repair and let the experts do it

ITEM CODE DESCRIPTION
DEL R301 1620105 RES NETWORK 0W06 2X2K2 J 0404
ADD R301 1620017 RES NETWORK 0W06 2X100R J 0404

Above mentioned change has been done in production since following HWIDs:
MODULE HWID
UP4IV (0201741) 0813
UD4 (0201476) 0814
UG4 (0201677) 0815

HOPE THIS HELPS

Cool

Hi!

I think that it's a hardware problem, and that you have to remove a resistance...i just don't know what is it...and even where is it...sorry!

P.S.-I'm not sure about that...

Cheers,

Hi

Sorry , try and make it a bit clearer.

You have to change resistor R301 from 2200 ohms to 100 ohms, (you will need service manual to locate resistor) and upgrade software to complete repair.

This is a common fault with 33xx , all nokia 3310 have had this modification done since hardware id 0813(HWID checked with wintesla or other s/w).

Hope this Helps

per nokia service hints:

Upgrade to software later than 4.06 makes hardware mod not needed,

Hardware mod done aon all board versions after HW-ID 0615

regards,

Dave
