Use repairer by GUAR. I've successfully used it even on lower versions of 51/3210. In case you don't have it, I have it on my page : http://blake.prohosting.com/azywerks.

Sometimes the problem with the 5110 EEPROM is with the second checksum, not the first.

With regards to solderless EEPROM dumping, I use MAK Interface (LUDIPO setup). My rig is like this;

1. Phone must be off and without power supply.
2. Only the four pins (4, 5, 6, and 8) of the ATMEL 24C16 IC needs to be connected.
3. I use small IC Clips(Hewlett Packard) to connect to the pins, so no soldering or desoldering is required.

I think the same setup would work on some I2C/24CXXX EEPROM reader/writer. Maybe yours would.

Check out MAKInteface's Website and you'll find lot's of info there. :D :D :D :D :D

About the clip, I bought it from an electronic shop here in my place. I used the clip to connect the MAKInfterface to the IC pins instead of soldering wires to it, or removing the chip, which in both cases could potentially damage the IC or its contents.
