Member: 1010 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | 5110 v5.29 "contact service" fixed with repaier by Guar 99% of problems can be fixed by recalculate checksum. 1% is destroy of system area, and can't be fixed i think :-( Such problem can appear in following cases : 1.Short circuit of some pins in eeprom, while unlocking. But not pin6-7. 2.Using ground without any resistors and without your own body. 3.I think, static electric from your body, so toutch ground first when unlocking 5.36(3210) or 5.29 (5110). 4....(send if you know some else) |

Member: 871 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 602 | Hello Guys, I have very funny experience with 6138 v5.01. I know this is a very old phone, but I hope this will be a useful information to you all. EEPROM was damaged 100% To fix it, I did these steps: 1. Erased whole EEPROM of phone (But I cannot erase the lower portion which has sort of pattern if you look at it). 2. Now phone says contact service. I used old Ola-sp (for old 5110) by Zulea to unlock it. This is the only program that can trick a Blank EEPROM! Nokia Tool can do nothing. 3. Phone says contat service still, but WINLOCK read phone as open but with funny MSIN fields. So I used Nokia Tool and Winlock to restore the MSIN to 00101, 00, 00, 0000001 (I dont know if this is called MSIN, but you guys know what I am talking about right?) 4. Now I have phone unlocked but still contact service because no IMEI and Security Bytes. I load IMEI using Wintesla and Password Calculator. 5. Now phone says insert Sim Card, but all locks now are locked again!!! it is locked to FFFFFF, BB etc... Reason: Security Bytes are not valid unless I will flash the phone I noticed that the Security Bytes HEX are just similar to IMEI bytes and not unique like what you see on a working EEPROM. 6. I can unlock phone by this method: Short pin 5 and 6 and press 'SW reset'. Phone powers up and says 'Contact Service'. Now I used Nokia Tool to unlock. Even if I just unlocked Lock 1, all locks were immediately disabled! Phone is now TEMPORARILY open, but not working Or, another method is to change the security bytes into FFFFFFFFFFF... You will get contact service, but if you read with WinLock all locks are open. If I restart the phone, phone locks itself again! Does any body know what the Security Bytes is based on??? Security Bytes is the first 11 or 12 (not sure) bytes in the EEPROM and after little part after IMEI. Here is Map of EEPROM (please correct errors) X = FF (1 byte) security bytes imei X X X X X X X X - X X X X X X X X security bytes??? X X X X X X X X - X X X X X X X X 7sp lock info security code Checksum X X X X X X X X - X X X X X X X X I think if some of you guys can find a way to rebuild Security Bytes, then Manual EEPROM rebuilding would be possible (I am not sure about this, maybe there are other security bytes in the lower part of EEPROM like the parts that I cannot erase earlier) Upto now, my 6138 is still dead for over 1 year! I can only use it with an Original Motorola Test SIM! I am not sure about other phone types and versions, so if your phone is not really damaged, do not try my procedure above. For shorting pin 5 and 6, I used a prod with 10K connected to GND of cable and my finger touching the metallic part. Good luck !!! Best Regards, X-Shadow |
