8210 Cant Read or Write even with additional F / Boot Loaders

Hi,
I have an 8210 which i am trying to upgrade (To a new software version).
I am using Greens Flasher shell but for some reason i keep getting error messages (TX = 1 etc) which indicates that the phone doesnt respond to read or write instructions.
I have checked my cable and i dont experience this problem with any other 8210 i have tried since.
I have tried different boot and flash loaders but i have now tried all combinations to no avail.
I can read details from the phone with B-Phreaks EEProm or Nokia Tool just not flash operations.
The software version is v5.27.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rebels Advocate.

Lightbulb flashing

Howszit

Try Knok or one of the flashers by rolis
you don't have to choose the loaders etc one of them will work remember to update FAID after flashing or else you'll have no network.

Later D.

Hi,
DMD is right, try to use Flasher 4.78b6 by Rolis or KNOK phoenix.
If you havent flashed any 8210 before, may be you swap pins FBUS RX and FBUS TX... try to exchange them
Some pinouts on the net are swaped
Good luck
regards

Hi,
I have flashed quite a few 8210's before so i dont think i need to swap the Rx and Tx.

I am unable to use Rolis 4 or Knok as i have an Fbus / Mbus auto switching cable. Where would i find a standard Mbus only cable so that i could use these programs.
Is there no way of using Greens to read from the phone. What if i try using the loaders in the loaders directory of Knok?

Ill have a try and see what happens.

Thanks for your help,

Rebels Advocate.

Thanks DMD,

I have a flasher cable and have tried using Rolis 4.78 and 1.5b with that and an mbus cable but no joy.
I did get KNOK to work with my flasher cable though so thanks for that.

Lightbulb 8210

Hi

does the phone connect to the computer with a f/m bus cable?
maybe the contact points for the cable are dirty try clean them
on the flasher cables/data cables you normally get a little piece of foam around the pins take it off its there for shipping purposes

Also make sure that you select 8210 on the program or else it ain't gonna work.

'cannot prepare phone " is when the computer can't connect to the phone "

check cables & connection

Oh try checking your bios settings printer pot(lpt)
must be set to epp-ecp or ecp "extended capabilities"
if thats not write it won't work either bye.
