Post 8210 Display problems


Hi All

I have a 8210 that has a strange problem at times the display is garbled if i flip through the menu etc.. every thing on the display is mixed up... any solution to this problem??

this happens when you always put the 8210 in a tight pocket...

3 options:

1] insert a piece of paper inside the LCD [under]

2] change the elastometer

3] change the UI module [ theUI module is the silver thingy when you remove the express on cover in front

change the elastomer... green thing that connects the lcd to the pcb... you can use elastomer from 3210 or 6110 lcds... its thicker but you can cut it into half with a sharp razor blade...

try to clean the elastometer with a little alcohol and make sure that it makes good contakt between LCD and the PCB...

Send it back to Nokia! They are getting a hammering for it at the moment by Watchdog, a uk consumer TV program!
