| 8210 Flashing Nightmare Hi all, My M8 has asked me if I can fix his 8210 that won’t switch on, he was given the phone in this state. This 8210 won’t switch on so I thought I would flash it by using rolis 477 with a full back up I made from my 8210. The phone starts to flash ok but then a message pops up that says: “Flash Erasing Error Must Receive 91 00 FF But Received FF FF FF Check Vpp, Vbatt Voltage, Phone Type” I have tried different flasher programs & tried flashing the MCU & PPM & virgin eeprom but no joy. Can anyone explain how to sort this, or is the phone a paperweight? Cheers, UB. |

| Hi thanks for you reply, Yeah I have tried with a fully charged battery & with the charger plugged in as well…& many other combinations…...lol. The problem message seems to pop up in approx. the same place (00261000) on each flashing attempt. As this is the MCU area I read the MCU from my working phone a small block at a time, 00200000 – 00210000, 00210000 – 00220000, etc. I then flashed these to the problem phone 1 at a time. All went well until I got to the block 00280000 – 00290000 immediately after this block was flashed the phone started making a clicking type noise & the LED’s were blinking on & off. Removing the battery stopped this. The clicking noise happened after flashing each block between 00280000 & 00300000 but each block appeared to flash ok with Rolis flasher 477 not reporting any errors. Flashing blocks 00300000 – 00340000 went as normal with no clicking noise, but sadly after all this the phone still won’t power on. I have been advised that the flash chip may be faulty hence the error message. Is this the chip just below the on / off button? Any thoughts anyone. UB. |
