8210e Inbox Problem - Screen goes blank - GSM-Forum

Hi Everyone,

I am experiencing an odd problem with an 8210e. The problem is that when i go to the inbox to read a message the screen goes blank and the phone crashes.
I have tried flashing different software versions (The last one i tried was v6.01). I have erased the entire flash before flashing the new software just in case and have also used a virgin eeprom and an eeprom from another 8210 (with full software flash).

If anyone has any ideas why this is happening and how to solve it i would be gratefull for any help.

Change LCD

I dont think its the LCD as all other menus and even the outbox and write message menus work.

I have a spare so i will try it anyway. You never know.

phone hang up on Inbox and Picture messagez etc

Your both correct,

I have changed the LCD to the spare and it now works fine. I did not believe that the screen would only freeze when viewing the inbox. Does anyone have any idea why this is?

It has happened to me many times.

Change it and all is OK

100% display probleme we met this probleme many times b4..

@ Rebels Advocate ---> this is an old 8210 problem and solution is changing lcd 90% and 10% is lcd-rubber

No rubber.....
These LCD-s were manufactured wrong. The driver unit bundled on the lcd is not able to process too much data.

If the rubber is the problem, the screen comes back, when you push the upper edge of the LCD gently.

When the LCD is the problem, the screenb only comes back after reboot.
