8850 Flashed with 8210 flash file - Can it be fixed? - GSM-Forum

8210 ver 5.21

Hi

M8 gave me what I thought was an 8850 (had changed cover to look like 8850).

What he actually gave me was of course an 8210. I flashed it with the 8850 partial flash file and the phone no longer comes on.

I presume, as the start address for version 5.21 is the same for both phones, I can just re-flash witht he correct file.

Am I right, if not is there another way to fix it.

Hi. You can restore it to its origonal state but you need a back of the iamge file. they are all the same (for the same version of same phone). Get a full back up from http://www.regionet.pl/~fatum/gsm/ for your version and delete the PPM file from it (for 8210 5.21 it starts on 1D0000 (3D0000 in the phone)) and flash the phone with htat file. it will work 100%. Just DO NOT flash the phone with whole buck up from 200000 to 400000. You will make it useful only for spares.

Thanks for the reply.

I just ended up reflashing the phone with the correct partial flash and it's working 100% now.

I was just lucky that 8850 and 8210 partial flashes all start from 280000.

The site you mentioned with the full backups, what does the 'B' stand for at the end of the file name "8210-521B.zip.
