8890 will not turn on unless first connected to a charger (actively charging)

Hey guys,

I have a problem with my 8890. It will not power on, unless I plug the charger in. Once I hear the little beep (that Nokias make when they begin to charge) I can push the on/off switch and the phone will turn on.

I can then disconnect the charger and use the phone without problems. However, if the battery dies or I accidentally turn off the phone, I am not able to turn it back on without connecting a charger to it again. I know the battery is not the problem because I have tried several others & each time the same happens.

I first took the phone to a Nokia Service Center and they said: "sorry, the problem is internal and we do not repair those kind of things."

So then I took the phone to a GSM service shop they said:
-the on/off switch is good
-ccont is working
-the battery connector is fine
-the system charging block is fine

Basically he said sorry, I won't charge you because I do not know what the problem is.

Anyone have a similar problem like this? Any solutions/suggestion will be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
8890guy

acording to your explanation i think you should check the cable conected with the flip cos that is conected to the charging jack aswell so i think when you insert the charger to the fone it gives the power to the fone to boot up,any way it's just my guess cos never had problem like this so far
good luck
