9210 Keyboard Problem My keyboard seems to be having a problem, the middle line ASDF. . . seems to have some kind of a loose connection, I have to press alphabets very very hard to type, the other lines are fine, can anyone suggest or point what / where the problem could be, thanks

Open the back lid up and clean your flex connections from the PCB to the keyboard. Make sure you close it firmly afterwards. Also clean the contacts between those keys and the pads on the keyboard switches (the small circles). Regards, Jan Farrell

thats very easy open the six screws on the backside (the 9210 must be OPEN for disassembling/assembling!!! - dont forget that !!!) when you have removed the backside of the phone, you will see the board, on the right side is the flex connection - be carefull, you can kill your phone, the parts are very sensitive !! the phone hasnīt too many parts - if you remove the board (yes - that "tiny" thing is the phone/pda) - you have reached the flex edit: here is a picture of the board (point 3 is the flex connector) when you assemble it, take care about the top left parts, press between them

Thanks Guys, thats excellent help from your side, 1 more thing, I was wondering if this is caused due to dust or unclean keys then this problem should be intermittent but from key A to L all the keys act similarly, very very hard press, I feel at times i will break it. Could it be some faulty part which needs replacement or maybe a particular track or maybe . . . . I dont know.....any comments

OK Guys I did it and keyboard is ok but now after closing the phone seems to me that somehow the flex connector has not fit in correctly, the phone display goes off and PDA screen gets dimmed, after pressing the phone hard everything is ok. How do I make sure I have connected all Flex connectors correctly
