any keyboard button turns off phone? - GSM-Forum

Hi all,

I have a nokia 6150 here. I got it from someone. I unlocked the phone without any problem. And the phone also takes any card.
When I insert the battery, the phone turns on. Pressing any key turns off the phone and I have to re-insert the battery again for the phone to become alive.

Strange thing is that I can use a program to dial outside. Works perfectly!

Question: Is there a problem with the software in the phone? How can I upgrade the software?
Or could this be caused by a hardware (keyboard chip) malfunction?

Any help is appreciated!

Hi,

I solved the problem. The problem was some conducting dust on the PCB. I cleaned the phone (contacts) and now it works perfectly.
