I thought this was coming soon. Can you give more details on what will happen to the phones? I am sort of happy that I will have to wait a while and buy some new kit but it will eliminate a lot of the competition.

worldphones/modchips can you please tell me what this means?

cpu486 09-02-2001 09:33

According to the first post, does it mean that this (NEW) program can unlock NEW Nokia?

Salami1_1 09-02-2001 13:41

NO.. that is for sony J5<br />This all means that small unlockers are pretty ****ed up and that the big unlockers will have to buy new equipment of course even more expensive.<br />Damn..<br />pls dejan can you make another nice interface like your flasher?? That works for this new phones.<br />WBR<br />Salami1_1

Yes why not - if everyone here bought his box instead of 6 months shouting - "I need the Hex from the box, I need the schema !"

And if this is true, Dejan actually is the only one who can do it right now <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> .

But I don't think he's stupid - whole factory in China makes his interface...

And how many people unlock and flash with his soft...

Maybe it's time for the end "one pound boys" !

Best Regards

Can't you see it's not only about unlocking, but also PPM flashing and upgrading we're talking here...many people who bought 1.04 BOX will lose customers because who don't want to make their phone 'un-unlockable'.....<br />so they will not be able to pay back their investments pretty soon..<br />Or, on the other hand, this problem will be solved with the BOX or the upgrade for it?<br /> <img src="confused.gif" border="0"> <img src="confused.gif" border="0"> <br />Any new info about this news?

Well, if there are still service centers or repair centers for Nokia phones that uses the Nokia equipment, there's still a big chance that the new scheme of Nokia will be cracked.

Let's take Dejan's flasher for example. How do you think Dejan got the routines in flashing the phones? Don't tell me he thought it all up himself.

Of course, like us all with a curious mind, he traced the Nokia's flash prommer (or whatever soft is used by Nokia to flash the phone), and studied what makes the code tick and do some experimenting until he got the core code for flashing the phone.

How did he got the idea in updating the MCU/PPM? The same, he traced the soft which does the actual uploading!

What equipment did he used? Well, the only logical reason is that he have some Nokia equipment (borrowed or lend to him if not bought) that does the job of flashing and updating the flash to the phone.

How did he come up with a simple device that could flash the phone? We'll we all know that Dejan has knowledge in electronics, and he does assembly programming. I haven't seen one of his work from his site which was compiled in C or C++.<br />Anyone with advance studies in electronics and how to program them could come up with a "subtitute" device that could do the other complicated device's work.

Notice the many variants of the I2C circuit? There are simple enough to make and others are so complicated.

The only advantage Dejan has is that he knows low level programming and he has the equipment and resources available to him.

Most of the people here can afford to buy the equipment used by Nokia and even Dejan's 1.02 Box but they either lack the programming knowhow, patience, interest, and/or the courage to sacrifice some units or equipment.

Some people just shrug with these kind of news and say "so what, it's just a hobby anyway, it's not a living" and then proceeds to tinker the new ones just for the challenge.

Some just grin and goes on repairing defective phones, old ones or new ones. They'll just gain the knowledge in no time how to repair these new phones anyway.

Only the people not knowledgeable enough goes into panick and thought the end of the world is at hand. We all know who these people are. They don't contribute anything, they just pick up what they like and go. And come back again to pick something again and go again. That's all they do. They even charge the help they picked up for free. They are called the upportunists.

Although some people do pick something up and go but they come back to contribute in return. They don't demand either, they just give their help unselfishly. And in return, everybody gains more helpful information. They are the people that give the inspirations to others to help more unselfishly.

Although some people do sometimes grab the upportunity to gain something but they give help more than they gain. They are the likes of Dejan who gave the partial unlocking for free but charges the MCU/PPM uploading. Why blame the guy for charging the MCU/PPM uploading device? It's his handiwork anyway and has all the right to sell it any price he that suits him.

Anyway, if unlocking for a mere pound is your way of living, try to get some real job, this thing will pass away.

If MCU/PPM uploading is just starting to be your way of living, it's better to save some now coz rainy day is about to start and you might as well find some greener pastures.

Technology progresses very fast, you can't keep up with it or else it will leave you behind or worse, bankrupt.
