read old posts.. dejan mcu-ppm box is the only way to change language... wintesla plus special hardware will do too. or bring it to the nearest nokia service center.

Hi,

Salamat Pare. So does it mean that Dejan Cable is use for unlocking only and you can't use it for changing the language on the phone?

Another questions, do you always need to get a backup from unlocked phone with the same version as the phone that you're unlocking?Does the phone version have to be the same, say Asian vers., Finland vers, or Germany vers.

What's the difference bet. a backup flash file & a partial flash file that you can find in many sites? Sorry I'm quite new to this and quite understand about flashing pa.

Salamat uli.

i might say yes... well dejan can unlock and make back-ups, can fix contact service in some cases but not always... backups should be the same, ppm w/c means the language and ofcourse the version... ppm should match the one stored in cobba of phone... untouchable part of phones without special hardware..if it doesnt match... it may result in network problem.. so that means u connot flash a phone with different version... as in upgrading... cira ang phones mo... ppm and the version of the phone is stored in 3 different places i think... and all should match one another... as well as the IMEI... partial flashes are use to unlock phones.. regardless of ppm ... while in backups... ofcourse for backups--- ppm should be the same with the phone that u will flash... hope i was able to help you... happy unlocking... ingat lang..

Hi Rothmanns,

Thank you for your reply. What if I can't get a phone with open-line and with same ver. as the phone I want to unlock. Can I just get a partial flash with the same ver. from the various GSM website and then flash it to my phone? Do you mean that aside from the phone ver., example, 8210 ver. 5.25, the language ver. should be the same? I'm quite confused here.

in unlocking... if your going to unlock a phone eg. 8210v5.11... you can use any partial flash file for 8210v5.11 found anywhere in the web... for backups... you have to use full backup for 8210v5.11with the same language... regardless wheather its openline or not... you can unlock it later on...

Sorry about interrupting, but COBBA is an IC which uses paralell transfer protocol with the MCU which contains the PPM checksum. Or?

Well officially it does not work to change
Language. But we are testing it right now.
Result :

1. Successfully changed 6210 V3.01 C to J
2. Language Strings can also be changed, worked.

to 1. : Not included right now in our tool.
We've got to test it with other phones. Version Update/Upgrade is not possible !

to 2. : Using a Hexeditor and our tool for fixing ppm checksum it works already.

Cya, Viper BJK

P.S. : Our tool also worked well for 8210 (100%) and 3310 (but here second Eeprom checksum is invalid because of different fieldlength)

After 5 days testing languaje change in 6210 v502 I can say that this tool doesn´t work in 6210 phones for languaje changing.

I used the ppm of http://www.volny.cz/holubice/

with the right address 00520000-005A0000 (524.288 bytes), flashed in my phone, read it, corrected with Veper tool, saved and test...... result... phone working with the new PPM but no signal and reseting it self.

After that I tried with other PPM`s of the same version, 502 reading the PPM part of the phone and also reading of a full file editing with an Hex.editor and saving. The results are the same, changing of PPM but no network and reseting the phone.

BR to all.
